Y'know what? I'm tired of it.

I'm tired of saying it, because I don't fully believe it. I'm tired of hearing it every time something I loved making goes over looked.

I'm tired of people saying it's not okay to make art for validation, or to want validation for your art, "because you make it for you".

Why do you think song writers and singers sing? Not just because they like it. But because people like it. Because they get something out of it, be it money or fame.

Why do you think studios make films? For shits and giggles? Because they think it's fun to draw? Just because they want to see that movie be made?

They make it for you. They make it for views.

Art is no different.

Fuck, even those examples are types of art- Of course people want to be validated for the things they like! Of course they want to find people who also take joy in the things they make!

IT'S NORMAL, IT HAPPENS, AND ART IS ALMOST ALWAYS MADE WITH THE VIEWER IN MIND! SO SHUT THE FUCK UP AND STOP SHAMING PEOPLE FOR WANTING TO BE ACCEPTED FOR WHAT THEY LOVE TO DO AND WHAT MAKES THEM HAPPY!

It's not about pandering to your audience, because that is tiring. That is what's unhealthy.

But stop telling people they can't be disappointed when something that they loved isn't as equally loved when they work up the nerve to share it.
