I see some people already being like "OMG yuri Island !" Or "polycule !" But please, outside of the obvious being Jaiden is asexual and aromantic, be reminded that Baghera has said that she is NOT willing to roleplay romance and she is NOT comfortable with shipping of both her AND her character.
That's not just disappointing that's a disgrace. How hard is it to make something decently accessible? First of all why not pay someone to say the lines instead of using a robot voice and second how hard is it to properly explain what's happening? I swear the badly written wattpad fanfictions made by 12 year olds describe scenes better than that. ITS NOT THAT HARD LEGO!
Just saw that Dragons Rising has audio description.
As a visually impaired fan, I was super excited.
If you don't know, audio description is another audio track, like a language dub, that describes the scene on screen for people with low/no vision. It describes what's going on, at least basic things about characters or scenery, usually during gaps in dialogue.
....this was not it.
My excitement turned to crushing disappointment in less than a minute.
A robotic voice greeted me with "Ninjago Dragons Rising", and then the title of the episode.
Arin does his speech, but. There's no mention of what he's doing. Or that his parents are watching him/that he looks to them.
Do you know what the first thing this robotic voice that i dont even think is a human says?
"A portal opens, and a dragon flies out/past".
....that's it.
No mention of the colours. The shape of the portal. The looks on peoples faces.
I stopped watching there for now. It's late, and I just wanted to check it out before I forgot. I'll watch more tomorrow and give more thoughts.
But this is really disappointing, Lego.
Fun for neurotypical kids shouldnt be mandated for neurodivergent kids.
Like yeah, teachers, its probably very fun for the other kids to be outside in the summer, running around and cheering while playing loud games. Yknow who thats not fun for?? Me??
I get that you cant have kids wandering off, but you could at least set up a place for people like me to go. An 8 year old kid with sensory issues and difficulty running shouldnt be forced to stand right next to a crowd of screaming adults, then made to run 5 laps in a competition.
Just have a teacher who doesnt really care about the games set up a classroom. Put on tv shows and provide snacks, so theyre not missing out on the only part i liked from the field day. hell, id rather chill in the library the whole time. id rather be in detention??
I wish the next original FE game would be about a farmer and her friends having to protect their land from marauders (yes, I want the main character to be a woman so jackasses can't say the female lead "isn't canon"- it's 2017, we could use a female lead in a Fire Emblem title). No royalty, unless they're passing through to fight a battle somewhere else, and then, it's shown that even though they might be nice people, they still live in luxury paid for by the taxes of starving peasants who mostly live in squalor. I want a cast that, despite their obvious intellegence, are illiterate because they can't afford books. The dragon god in the game isn't evil- people go to temples and pray to it for it's blessings. There's no reveal that anyone was born a queen, no prophecy of a Chosen One- just normal people living in fantasy Europe during a war. Every Fire Emblem game reuses the same plot and cast with different names and clothes. Original ideas aren't THAT hard, Intellegent Systems. I thought of that on the toilet. I wouldn't even care if the game was bad, I just want something DIFFERENT, I just want to play something and think "these people TRIED. I'm proud of them for that."
