Any tips on writers block and/or writing itself?

Hmmm.....perhaps? Here's what I ask/tell myself as I write ✍️🤠

Write what you love. I don't like writing things that don't make me happy/fulfilled in some capacity. Like I've said before(especially for fluffy/romantic content!) If I don't have a stupid grin once I'm done I go back and rewrite! For more emotional stuff, I think of stuff I've read that's made me feel feelings and try to figure out how it got that way

It doesn't have to be perfect. Period. It doesn't matter how long you've been writing, you know your own skill level/strengths/weaknesses. Vibe with it!

Ambience. For me, I need some kind of noise or sensory thing to get me in the zone. For my bakery request I had animal crossing music on and I sped through it bc the vibes were right :)) there are lots of YouTube playlists/videos/channels dedicated to writing ambience!

Look up those silly dialogue prompts or trope lists!! Find one you love and build around it!! If you find yourself stuck, maybe look at an alternative one and see if you can get further!

Getting stuck sucks. When I took my composition class in highschool my teacher told us that no matter what, keep writing something. Even if it's the same word over and over, keep going until something new pops up in your head!

Don't force yourself. In my personal experience I've tried to sit in front of a blank doc and try to picture stuff in my head but I could never get it through to the keyboard. If you honestly don't feel up for it, you don't have to. If you can only get a few words or sentences down, don't feel bad.

Sometimes you have to start at the end of a story. Most of the drabbles I write, I think of the ending before I think of the beginning. I knew I wanted Spider Queen to accept the reader and Redson being together, but from there I had to retrace the reader's steps! How was the confession? Did they have to sneak off? It's very much like "hey, you might be wondering how I got in this situation. Well, lemme tell ya"

Currently pirating seasons 2 and 3 of LMK so bear with me I'm going through the emotions! In truth I hadn't been able to watch them for a while because they were supposed to be available on Pr#me video but y'know how monsieur Be#0s is.

Benched(a mini nonsensical rant that no one asked for!)

Y'know, I was thinking about this earlier and I figured this is the best place to say anything.

One of my favorite episodes of LMK is Benched, and here's why:

The creators of the show had a real opportunity for this episode to be a one on one confrontation between Macaque and Wukong. No, their fight in s1 doesn't count--MK was present for that. However, Benched doesn't allow this to happen a second time: they choose to let Tang have a moment.

I think Tang being the one to talk with Macaque inside the lantern was an excellent choice. There's something to be said about how Macaque talks to Tang specifically as opposed to the others. He chooses to compliment him(in his own way), saying how smart he is and then offering up some advice.

"don't take it personally, Tang. Your buddy Wukong values people by how useful they are to him. Take it from me, as an expert on what happens when you get too close to the king...Look out for number one, because if you don't, no one will."

I find this interesting. When Macaque tells the story of the hero and the warrior in "Shadow Play" he mentions over and over the betrayal of being left behind that the warrior felt. The letdown of feeling like the warrior was on equal grounds with the hero, but then everything had to change because of power, and he is projecting this idea right onto Tang.

But Tang IS smart, he IS wise, even if he seems more like a side character, he does HAVE STRENGTH. He sees through what Macaque is trying to tell him.

Macaque is "alone". He, at this point, has no real allies, no one to save him. LBD doesn't count because she ONLY sees him as disposable.

Tang, on the other hand, knows that even if he "[doesn't] bring [anything] to the table" he is not alone. He, especially in the drawing he has from MK, is surrounded by people who love and care about him. People who would save him, and people he has saved himself(see how he shields Mei from the ice when Macaque shows up to begin the ritual). It is a two way street and he knows this.

In that moment inside the lantern, Tang very well could have chosen to believe Macaque and betray MK and Co. But he didn't because he isn't pessimistic like Macaque is. He FINDS that power he needs to get the ring and get out. Powers of friendship, sure, but also it could be how MK needs the confidence to get his powers--Tang needs reassurance(even from himself) in order to find his own strengths. Multiple times throughout the show, he follows his gut and most of the time he's correct(Spider Queen in s1, following the Golden Cicada in s3) so of course he would be confident in himself and his relationships and use that power.

I just find their interaction along with Tang's character interesting.

Admittedly more emotional than NR. Like….way more important people died/got injured in NR but I barely cried. But this one gave me two loving parents watching their son sacrifice himself and for that I can’t hold back my tears (pos)

season 4 of Lego Monkie Kid is causing me way more anxiety than I'd like to admit. But here's what I think of the different sworn brothers as of right now having watched the Chinese dub with English subs

Peng: a little bitch. I think he is power driven entirely, not really friendly with anyone besides Azure. I really hope we find out why he doesn't like Macaque--seeing as he went out of his way a few times to insult him in some manner.

Azure: a big bastard. He doesn't think he's in the wrong at all and that bothers me the most. I love the prospect of a Large Cat Ruling the World but c'mon. If he had been honest AT ALL with MK the season could've been more lighthearted. I like his design though. I kinda wish he had a tail :( it'd be cute

Elephant(I forgot his name): we barely know anything about him. He seems nice enough to the others but my hope is that if the Monkie Gang tries to get the Brothers to stand down that he'll be the first to see that this isn't worth it. Also I think it's fun that he picks up Azure when he hugs him.

DBK: He was so lighthearted and he was enjoying himself!!! His hair was longer, he was smiling, and my heart when it showed how him and Iron Fan met during battle!!! Like seriously, I have the most hope for him in terms of coming back from the scroll alongside his wife and child.

Macaque: interesting. I think it's a very good detail that the shirt(I swear my mind is BLANKING on names today) is on the opposite side to contrast the way it's worn when someone is dead. Also it's kinda funny that he just appears to be hanging out on FFM. What intrigues me the most is how he interacts with MK in the game episode. He shows up to kick him when he's down(from what I could see) but as SOON as he sees what's actually happening to the kid he loosens up. I think I'd like to make a different post looking at him and Azure's friendship with Wukong.
