Jared Padalecki Tears Up Over the End of ‘Supernatural’
First thing:
@punchedbymarkesmith hiding truth in the tags:

Second thing:
This quote by Patrick Rothfuss (emphasis mine):
“There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man.”
One of the things that I love about Sam is how his apparent size changes. The man is large, but he often curls in on himself, making himself look smaller. He stuffs his hands in his pockets, pulling his shoulders in and down, his eyes go wide and he gives shy or uncertain little smiles or worried frowns and it makes him look smaller and younger. You forget that he's the tallest person in the room or how wide his shoulders are. Then at some point he'll stand up, square back his shoulders and breath deeply with a firm set to his jaw and suddenly he's massive and powerful and you fully believe that he once garrotted a vampire's head clean off. He can go from absolute baby brother to hulking beast in seconds and then sink right back into himself and leave you reeling because you know that potential is in him all the time, but it's not how he chooses to be.

Right?! I email my reactions to my buddy when first watching episodes, and when I watched 12x02 Mamma Mia, this is what I sent them:
"Um, wow, okay, we're just starting out with mind rape, are we? If they fucking brush that off like it was nothing... They're going to, aren't they? FFS."
Infuriating. Enraging. Crushing.
The fact that there are people who deny all of the bleedingly obvious rape metaphors, allegories, and outright sexual assaults against Sam throughout the entire series is baffling to me.

Sam Winchester somehow gives every vibe simultaneously. He’s a beautiful woman. He’s a 6’5” man with a broad chest and shoulders to match. He’s a sweet little dappled fawn. He hunches so much that he looks small. He towers over everyone else in the room. He’s the toughest son-of-a-bitch around, who survived literal lifetimes of torture at the hands of Lucifer. He flinches, he’s skittish. He could knock someone flat on their ass with one hit. He stands behind Dean like he’s his mother at a parent-teacher conference. He successfully used barbed wire as a garrote. He has a terminal case little-brother-disease. He’s sensitive and caring. He has the bitchiest pout in the world that he uses indiscriminately. He’s so so tightly controlled. He was a crazed, blood-addicted lunatic.
Can’t stop thinking about this. He’s my little princess 💖

Sam also never ever talks about what Lucifer actually DID to him. It’s all vague torture it was hell, and while OBVIOUSLY that should be enough for everyone to trust and believe him, no one has a picture of what Lucifer was like and capable of through that. And he just makes jokes after jokes about it while Sam’s forced to work alongside him.

I'm pretty sure it's illegal to have legs that long? Someone should tell him before he does himself a mischief.

"Sam and Dean love each other as much as two human beings can love each other. Truly." — Jared Padalecki, San Diego Comic Con 2017

❤️ Jensen's version
so i wanted to share this little tidbit from my m&g with jared and it’s specifically show related/about sam so i think it’s okay. and i wanted sam fans to hear this bc i know it’s something discussed a lot (this is all paraphrased and stuff btw, but i tried to accurately capture jared’s answer).
at njcon, i essentially asked jared this: “the show has had this trope of having sam constantly have to work with his abusers but never addresses the after effects. last season he had to work with lucifer, and lucifer was even in his room, and cole the season before that, and gadreel before that. and most recently there was his torture and sexual assault from toni, who i have a feeling he’ll now have to work with. so do you think sam has any trauma and ptsd and struggles working with them?”
jared said that he thought that of course sam had trauma, a lot of trauma, from all these events and these people. but he went on to say that he thinks sam is a character who constantly feels like he needs forgiveness - that he needs to be forgiven for the things he’s done wrong in his life. and because sam always feels like he needs to be forgiven, that makes him feel like he needs to forgive others in return for the wrongs they’ve done. he said that sam doesn’t want to work with them, nor forgive them, and it’s hard for him in these situations and of course the trauma is real and present for sam, but sam also knows that when he is working with them it’s typically born from necessity, so he has to kind of shoulder his own demons and work with these people despite what they’ve done. so it boiled down to jared saying that yes, sam has a great deal amount of trauma, but he will stomach that/ignore that because sam is a character that feels like he needs to be forgiven and therefore has to give forgiveness back and also because of the situations of the boys’ life
also jared seemed a little shocked/interested by the question, said it was one he didn’t think anyone had really asked or put together, but he appreciated the weight of it and definitely took his time to answer seriously and think about sam and sam’s headspace, which i truly appreciated.

This is one of my favorite EVER screen caps of Sammy. It's animalistic. The depraved expression, the bloodied teeth, it radiates psychopathy and he's never looked more delicious. I'm simply obsessed.

I've been following you around my entire life.
