NO BC I WAS THINKING THAT AFTER READING JOUNRAL 3. As someone whos planning to be Bill and has a friend planning to be Ford for halloween, I said to them “Hey aren’t we just doing the queer people equivilent of dressing as the Joker and Harley Quinn?” Yea I can’t clown on those couples anymore im doing the same shit.
tldr: Bill x Ford is for queers what The Joker x Harley Quinn is for heterosexuals and i don’t know how to feel about that fact

(this has been a bit of a response to @skillfulstudio‘s post)
I think the entirety of Fidds and Ford’s story goes to show that making huge mistakes in your life, whether it was because you were tricked or had poor judgement, doesn’t make you a bad person. You have to accept the consequences, forgive yourself, and move on trying to learn and improve from your mistakes.

It’s never an easy process, as shown by Ford’s self-deprecation and avoidance of people, but in the end, the pain can be alleviated by not bottling your emotions. Finding people who truly care, or people who understand will remind you that you don’t have to face your battles alone.
If anything, this situation adds yet another substantial layer to Ford and Fidds character development and relationship. Not only have they reconnected with their families, but they also have each other to remind them that the experiences and choices they had made in the past doesn’t define who they truly are.

This edit convinced me on the idea of a retelling of gravity falls but in comic book form
I really wish that they remake the special edition journal 3 because of the success of the book of bill, seriously I love Ford so much and I really want to see all those extra details in person for, you know, less than $3,000 It could be like a different special edition, maybe without the magnifying glass attached in case thats a budget/production problem but come on the fans should be able to get those extra pages and black light experience! If they did another press of them for around like $100 USD (collector price idk) that you have to pre-order that would be like, PERFECT??? gahhh i want more ford content and in general just more GF content and this would be SO COOL! I'm just hoping that the popularity of the book of bill will help this maybe become a reality-
I have no idea if Alex will ever see this, I know he has an old tumblr account that hasn't been used since 2016 ( @gravi-teamfalls ) But, against all odds if he does see this I want him to know that his show has changed modern animation forever and he has gained a lot of fans for it, and rightfully so. I think that a re-release of the special edition journal 3 would be awesome and I think a lot of fans would appreciate it.
Anywayyyyy yeah gravity falls is cool and I will NOT stop yapping about it :3

Hello! First actual post; thought I might as well put it out there that I'm recreating Journal 3 from Gravity Falls. I am not a hardcore fan, on account of the fact that I don't even know what that entails or know a whole lot about any piece of media. I like the show a lot though, and like crafts. Still trying to figure out how to do the blacklight portions, cause I tried glow-in-the-dark paint and accidentally smudged some ink :/
This isn't a great page, mostly cause I was still trying to find the best way to set up the cursive sections. Also, I don't actually have a physical copy of the book and instead trying my best with a pdf version.
I've got more pages done but progress is slow so I'll just post whenever. If you want to chat (chat? message?) go ahead; still trying to figure out how the interweb works though.

Thought I might as well put this page here cause it's fully done; I've finished the Floating Eyes and bat pages except for the photos (still need to find the care to draw them out) so I'll post those when they're done. This is definitely one of my favorite projects. Actually, it's the largest project I've attempted by far, and it's already given me many conversation points (it's about 50/50 someone cares to hear about ciphers though. I always carry 5 different types on me).
If someone has any tips or advice as I remake this book, please let me know! especially with weathering the book in a way that doesn't ruin the writing/art. I tea-stained all 3 books I'll be using but it just doesn't look right. If you think it looks fine and I'm focusing too much on it, also let me know!

Eh, mostly done anyways. Thought I might as well throw it up here since I don't have much else done. Have no idea how I'm going to go about all the photographs in this darn book; might paint/draw them, might print them all out at once. Or I could just look up what other people did, but then I would just be seeing people who are much better than me doing the same thing and I would like to not crush what little ego I have thank you very much.
Anyways If you look at the 'E' in Eyeballs you can see my failed attempt at using glow-in-the-dark paint for the blacklight entry. Didn't think to test it out first and it immediately bled... lesson learned. Anyways I'm getting better at the writing part of these entries so future posts will include better laid-out cursive (still hate it though).

Almost done with these pages :) I'm not done with the Cursed Doors pages quite yet (or at least enough that I would want to post) but still wanted to put somethin' out there. I hated drawing this man's damn hands (both the portrait and the damn x-ray), but ya know it's not horrible so it's okay. I also like to think that my cursive is getting better, but after a bit my hands always get shaky :/
I'm not quite sure how to do the brown shading that's on these pages (and lots of others) but I can always come back to them later to touch them up.
