Voila, my art for @lightninginabottle0613 ‘s extraordinary fic Took the Long Road!
I’ve been meaning to make some art for this lovely, lovely fic, I can’t even begin to explain how much I love this fic and the impact it left on me! It’s beautiful, and well written, has a truly wonderful and so, so meaningful message at its core, and it’s captivating and captures so much of what I love about them. The quality of her writing is unparalleled, and it gets to me in a way that punches me in the gut and has me thanking her for it.
This is from a moment in Ch. 6, riverrun to acorn hall, that just stuck with me ever since I read it:
He laughed some more but said nothing in response, just shook his head and continued to watch the sky change. She joined him. Looking at the sky, watching the colors bleed together, waiting for the stars to appear - that was their thing, now, she supposed. She liked that they had a thing.
“Hey, Gendry?”
“Hmm.”
“You could never take up too much space.”
There are so many moments from this fic I feel like I can envision perfectly in my mind, but this one especially, so I figured why not paint it out!
Thank you for writing and sharing this absolute masterpiece, Erin, I hope you have a nice day!
Happy birthday @lightninginabottle0613 !!
Here, have some more ttlr fan art I did as a birthday gift:

(Took the Long Road, Chapter Six: Riverrun to Acorn Hall)
(This was originally supposed to be part of the other ttlr thing I made a while back, in a different and kinda more complicated form, so I kinda ended up not doing it! But cut to a month later and realizing your birthday was coming up, I figured what’s the harm in a midnight pen drawing session?)
Congrats on turning twenty five! I’m so grateful that I met you, you’re genuinely such a sweet and wonderful person, not to mention a truly phenomenal writer! You bring so much to this world and also this fandom, I will forever be in awe of your kindness and talent. You really do deserve to be proud of yourself, both for the person you are today and the things you have achieved!
I hope twenty five treats you well, Erin! You deserve all of the good things that the world has to offer, I hope you get them!
