Masking Is Community Care - Tumblr Posts
For my covid-conscious followers (hopefully all of you):
One of the largest covid info blogs on this website, @covidsafehotties was just permanently banned by @staff for "targeted harassment". The whole blog has been wiped from this website, including all of the links and info that were on it. This is very likely another example of tumblr's biased moderation practices, and they've proven yet again that they'll take advantage of any opportunity (often including very clearly targeted mass reports) to ban a trans woman's blog. As tumblr continues to go mask off about their policies against protecting marginalized people from harassment, remember to wear yours if you plan to celebrate pride somewhere other than the so-called "queerest place on the internet".
hey guys remember if you're feeling sick and your covid rapid test keeps coming back negative, see if you can get a PCR test. the current rapid tests don't always pick up the latest strains (btw you should swab your mouth/throat AND your nose), and covid is still really real. Check your state resources or covid activism for free community testing sites.
even if you don't have covid, please stay home as much as possible and wear a good, well fitting mask (no gaps, fits securely. not cloth, not pleated, wear a kn95 or n95 or higher if possible). Even after your symptoms go away for at least a week. and preferably, always mask in public :)
Wearing a mask is probably the easiest and most accessible way to materially make others lives better. It is an act of love. It is an act that cares for your community. And it is something everyone can do.
