So I finished this painting almost a year ago and didnât realize itâs been sitting in my drafts this whole time.

Meet Cova (They/Them)! This is our first ever Mutant/X-Men OC!
Their mutation sorta turns you into something like them (blue, glowing markings, horns, etc), that they can eventually control the longer they make skin contact with you. If you end up looking entirely like them, they can have full control of your body and puppet you into doing things. Youâre entirely conscious throughout it, too! If they stop making physical contact with you, however, youâll slowly go back to normal.
We decided that if Mystique can be naked in the films, so can this OC. They do wear clothes on occasion, but only ever oversized shirts that donât belong to them and nothing else.
My eyes serve no purposes, and yet I can see clearly
My fingertips are locked behind cold metal, unfeeling, but still I can touch immeasurable beauty
My mouth is broken and chained, sown with gnarly zeal, my words do not yield
My brain lobotomized from steel spikes and electric thorns, and my thoughts care little as they conduct themselves into frenzied virtuoso
I am in great painâ joy reaches inside me, motions my marionette strings
Within me resides only Darkness, but there in it I feel sickly Light, worming and pulsing, hot with life, probing at my depths

This is Charles Wilson, or just Charlie. He used to be a bioenginner for a shady company but thanks to a lab accident got mutated to a giant hulking alligator man, he hides himself in the sewers trying desperately to cure himself.
