You know what would be pretty cool? An X-Men animated movie in a style similar to the Spider-Verse movies. Just instead of the usual X-Men characters, make it about the younger mutants Like say this group:
They all got varying powers and abilities, and you kinda gotta admit, the visuals some people could do with these could be awesome.
While X-23 is a top contender for lead, I say make the lead of this theoretical movie Prodigy. That's the guy with the bug-eye looking goggles for those that don't know. He can telepathically copy any skill from anyone. As an example, say he's playing basketball, he can copy the basketball skills of the person he's playing against.
Mostly anybody of this group could be the main character. I only say mostly anybody, because while I love Rockslide, I think he works best as a secondary or supporting character.
We don't need more multiverse movies, so it being set in a singular universe works. Have the usual X-Men characters act as mentors, they've seen enough that they could pass down that knowledge to students and help them.
If anybody wants to add some ideas, that's cool.
I just miss these kids
I was thinking more about this a bit more. Some of it about what kind of story it could tell, some of it about who the villain/antagonist could be.
I think a coming-of-age story makes sense for these characters, them figuring out who they are.
For the villain, I was chatting with a friend, and they were a bit on board with the idea of Mister Sinister. I don't want Magneto as the villain, I think he’s better as the villain to Professor X and his team of X-Men. For this hypothetical New X-Men movie, just like in the original comics run, I say make Cyclops a mentor. He’s been an X-Man long enough he’s got knowledge he can pass on.
Mister Sinister could also have a group of followers or henchman, like say the Marauders. From what I can tell, been a while since I've read an issue or arc with the group in it, the Marauders have an almost rotating number of members. There is only one character I am quite sure would fit really well, Kyle Gibney/Wild Child. Maybe Sinister specifically chose Wild Child as a way to try recreating the conflict of Wolverine and Sabretooth, using him as the Sabretooth to X-23/Laura Kinney's Wolverine.
Seriously, if you got ideas you want to add on, add them if you feel like.

Still thinking on this occasionally, and sometimes I wonder what kind of soundtrack could work for this hypothetical movie.
My first thoughts are getting Klayton (Celldweller, FreqGen, Scandroid, Circle of Dust) or Blue Stahli to be the composer. I think the electro-rock sound fits the X-Men as a whole, and those two's styles make me think their work could make a good soundtrack for this group of New X-Men. And let us not forget, when Killer Instinct could not get Mick Gordon for the soundtrack, it got Klayton! He did some really awesome character themes, my favorite being what he did for Rash. Enter the Battletoad is so freaking awesome!
Or, maybe they could get Metro Boomin, the guy who did the soundtrack for Across the Spider-Verse. I love most of what he has done. Annihilate is such a good track!

Yesterday or the other day, I kinda forget which, I made a post talking about a team-up I would love to see. Sort of building off of that, I want to talk about an idea I had for a New X-Men story.
I know plenty of people just aren't a fan of Wrongslide, the guy who basically took Santo's place in the mutant world. If I could bring back Santo, I would probably do something bombastic. I would probably have his soul end up in Hell and his friends go to save him, only for them to see he's surviving like he's Doom Guy.
Maybe it could tie it in to my other idea, have it that the New X-Men initially go to Hell to save Laura only to find out Santo is also there. Maybe Mephisto notices their presence and tries to make bit of a deal or something: the New X-Men can only save one, Santo or Laura.
I'm kinda spitballing ideas here. I just want Laura to interact with her old friends again. Let the New X-Men interact as friends, Marvel!
So... remember when Laura Kinney had the Uni-Power and became Captain Universe? I kinda wish people would remember that and do something interesting with it. Now that I think about it, why was that not brought up during Black Vortex?
You know, the X-Men/Guardians of the Galaxy crossover where a special mirror can imbue those who look into with cosmic power? Probably don't remember? I don't think most people do.
You can see Laura in the background, behind Drax and in front of Lockheed, and her potential Black Vortex design just looks like it's not even trying to really look like a cosmic upgrade. Agent Venom looks more like Captain Universe, and this was years before King In Black!
I do think with Laura being pushed down and to the wayside in this era for the X-Men and mutants, returning the Uni-Power for an arc or and issue could be cool. Maybe the Uni-Power is looking for her after a particularly grueling battle and needs to recover. Oe maybe we could use the now ties to the symbiotes and get Andi Benton in on the story for these characters to interact and team-up.

You know what? I think Marvel just needs a Marvel Team-Up book! That way people can experiment with different characters meeting and interacting. If you don't want the thing to be canon and give editorial a headache, just set each team-up in its own alternative universe if you so wish!
Who wouldn't want to see Jubilee and Chamber team-up with Blade? Who wouldn't want to see Namor kick ass alongside Wolverine and Captain America? Who wouldn't want to see Andi Benton, Laura Kinney, and Nico Minoru at the very least just interact?
There is so much that can be done with a new Marvel Team-Up book! You could even have Laura team-up with her old friends in the New X-Men! Who wouldn't want that?! Or even just a type of experimental team-ups could be fun. Like imagine an alternate universe where Toad is a superhero and teams up Spider-Man on the regular. Overall, it could just be a fun little book showing off neat ideas for many Marvel characters.

Today, another team-up that I think could be cool to see is Laura Kinney and Victor Mancha. Both are a person made to be used by a malicious force as a "tool" against others. Laura by The Facility as a living weapon for mostly assassination missions, while Victor was created by Ultron to be used against the Avengers. Pretty sure both also had a mother who loved and cared for them that is now not in the picture. I know Laura was forced to kill her mother, but I admit I can't remember what exactly happened to Victor’s mother.
Also, slight tangent, but I know there is this headcanon for some that Laura is Trans, considering she is stated to be a clone of Logan, so it popped in my head of "How come no one headcanons Victor as Trans?" Because you know, Ultron ain't got genetics, so I am pretty sure all of Victor’s come from his mother.
Anyways! There is some similarities that I think could allow a cool team-up with these two. Maybe something like Ultron gets ahold of whatever files The Facility had left and decides to use whatever knowledge they give him to attempt a new plan of wiping out The Avengers or some such? Or maybe a whole new villain that only the two of them working together can help defeat?
What are anybody else's thoughts on this?

Continuing off of this, I'm kinda surprised that there was never any type of internal crossover where X-23 met the Runaways. I think it could have worked. Maybe in a hypothetical future "What If" book there could be an issue where instead of Kiden and company it is the Runaways Laura runs into?
Maybe it could be set in an alternate universe and maybe it could start with Laura being sent to assassinate the parents of the Runaways? Or maybe it's during that time where Laura is on the run without a stable place to stay and she's taken in as one of the Runaways despite having no connections to The Pride?
