 Well, I’m not even sure if Godot will play a big role in my au, but I thought about how cool his design would look so yeah here he is 

 And a bit of lore: the ghosts in general never look 100% human, their forms are always a bit (or very) monstrous. That’s why Godot has the weird eyes and Luke has a fish tail and because his name is Triton sooooo...  Mia, however, retains her human appearance since she had spiritual powers. (Might change her design a bit though)

since this au is set after what would be it’s version of the origninal trilogy events, they’re already in friendly terms with Wright and co. now. 
I think Wright and Edgeworth dated back at some point, which didn’t work out (for a number of reasons I may get more in detail about later). Still, from this failed relationship they built a really strong friendship. They just know they can count on each other for anything, be it fighing ghosts, battling in the courtroom or asking romantic advice of how to get to their new crushes (Wright’s is Layton, and Edgeworth’s… welp, I’ll reveal that soon enough).
Also Franziska and Maya will date at some point bc franmaya rights

It was a dark and windy night. Famous archaelogist and mistery-solver professor Layton and his apprentice Luke were returning home after a long day, solving some puzzles to distract themselves from the cold.

Then, a stronger gust of wind blew. Stronger and much, much colder. Closing his eyes and bracing himself, Layton could only describe the feeling as his if very soul was being freezed. When the wind stopped, Layton checked on Luke - Only to see him fallen, like he had fainted.

No matter how much he called, the boy didn't wake up. So Layton hurried and took him to a hospital, only to find out Luke wasn't the first to faint after a freezing gale. Apparently, this had been happening all over town with a few people, and none of them had woken up yet. The doctors were still trying to figure out what this strange phenomenon was. As Layton got back home, the gears in his head turning furiously, he found a message waiting for him, written on the condensation of his window...

The drawing... It was supposed to be a ghost, right? No matter how much of a man of science he was, Layton wasn't about to ignore his dear apprentice's cry for help. He had to find out the answer for this mistery... And searching through some old journals, he just the idea where to start.

As for what happened next... Self-renowed "Greatest Ace Spirit Medium Ever Maya Fey" was able to make Luke's spirit visible to the rest of the team, and the four of them would search for answers together. But that is a story for another day.

More stuff from my au. Not sure about the context for this, but i’d guess it’s their first date, ending with a dance in the streets. And, btw, the little blue stone Layton’s wearing was a gift from Wright. c:

Thanks a lot kind person :D and hmm, I really don't know if I'll ever get to actually write it... For now, I'll stick to posting the designs and answering asks which I totally encourage you guys to send 🧡 and, depending on how the lore grows, maybe I'll write it someday

I can imagine that Luke and Maya would enjoy pulling pranks on Phoenix and Hershel!

Hah, that's adorable! Personally, I think Maya would love to pull pranks on Nick on every possible ocasion, when she realizes she has a (temporarily) ghost friend who can make stuff float or disappear and things like that. And I think Luke would be a little nervous at first, afraid of upsetting Wright, but as soon as he gets closer to him he would enjoy helping Maya. But. Luke would be SO nervous if the target was Layton. And Maya would soon realize Layton is so annoyingly OP he just kinda predicts the pranks and silently avoids them. So they keep targeting Nick. Who eventually gets tired of this and asks Luke to help him prank Maya this time. So the three just kind of get locked in an eternal war while Hershel calmly drinks his tea in the corner, completely unnafected.

I got a suggestion to draw Flora in my au, and I had no idea what to with her at first. But, then it hit me: “Hey! Since this is a crossover... they both have flower-related names and big dark eyes and kiiind of a similar color pallete... YUP THEY’RE SISTERS NOW”

 Flora Reinhold and Dahlia Hawthorne are the daughters of Augustus Reinhold and Violet Hawthorne. When their parents pass away, Flora has only her sister... but she always knew she couldn’t be trusted. The only one who saw Dahlia for who she really was.   And after Dahlia becomes a vengeful and powerful spirit, Flora seeks help from the four ghost hunters. Dahlia could have stopped her. But she lets her little sister go and call the heroes... Since she’d really, really like to have a little chat with her dear Feenie again.

 As far as I’ve thought, this devil of a woman will be one of the three main villains in the au. And she’ll have a cool ghost form, of course, but that’s a drawing for another day ;)

Okay Laywright au idea. Layton is still an archeologist but he's exploring and studying a ruin. He comes across some sort of coffin/tomb/prison thingy. Of course Layton opens it and out pops this man. He's dressed in ancient garb and is very confused. He's definitely some sort of God or at least a human with fantastical powers.

But people, idk who yet it's 3 am, are after Pheonix and so Layton helps him hide. And there's action and love. And pheonix gets to use special powers to protect Layton and its very sweet. And whether a choice to give uo his powers/godlyhood or live a mortal life with Layton. He obviously chooses Layton and it's sweet

YO THIS IS A GOD TIER IDEA!!

Maybe Phoenix could be an actual Phoenix with a human form, and he can grow cool wings and feathers and claws and has fire powers and he is very powerful in fact, but a bit clumsy (and being asleep for who knows how long sure doesn't help) so sometimes he'll end up transforming into a little chicken phoenix and his awesome soon-to-be boyfriend protects him with his legendary fencing moves until he transforms back.

Maybe he was from a civilization contemporary to the Azran. And maybe Maya is a descendant from this civilization, and her lineage had the duty of guiding the phoenix when he wakes up. So she teams up with Layton and Phoenix (and why not make Luke Hershel's archaelogy student? Now the team is complete).

And maybe Targent could be after Phoenix lead by Bronev or other Layton villain but there are also some Ace Attorney villains like Von Karma and Dahlia (Idk I think it would be so awesome to see Hershel and Manfred fighting sword vs whip)

Anyways thanks for the awesome concept, maybe I'll draw stuff for it one of these days, and if anyone else wants to add to this I'd love to see it :D

(Also I think Phoenix would be able to heal himself but he could also heal others sooo fluffy scenes of him taking care of wounded Layton)

(Also also maybe Phoneix adopts the surname "Wright" to help disguise as a human and he probably picks this one in order to make puns about being "right")

I need to know why Hershel and Phoenix both look like they have chronic insomnia (which they probably do in canon tbh) jiaopfheuiowab

Very nice AU!!! Hope to see more!!! Also how did Luke get spirited out of his body?? Also that is such angst potential which is probably how Hersh gets his tired look now that i think of it. Also really love your fashion sense :DD

Sadly I don't think I'll return to this au. But as far as I had planned, Luke' situation was something that was happening to more people, like a disease (tho I think the other people were wandering as lost souls and Luke for some reason managed to stay close to the professor. Maybe it had something to do with Maya's help).

So the four of them go out to find out why this is happening and bring everyone back, and they find some ghosts and people who are the pl and aa characters along the way. And They eventually find out that the disease was being caused by Clive and Manfred von Karma. They were both ghosts, Manfred seeking vengeance on Phoenix because he exposed him as a fraud (which led to his death penalty) and Clive seeking vengeance on the powerful people that let happen the accident that killed him and his beloved family.

They're keeping people's bodies trapped in sleep in other to steal their vital energy, becoming extremely powerful ghosts, capable of even using physical forms. Anyway eventually Clive learns that vengeance is bad and is able to pass on and they exorcize von Karma who was very much still evil

I think that was it. As I said, I don't think I'll ever come back to this, but if anyone wants to write or draw something inspired on it, feel free to :)

Also, Hershel and Wright probably do have some problems sleeping, but to be frank I just like giving people eyebags, expecially on gothic-looking aus
