Prince Philip - Tumblr Posts
But now Phil’s dead, who will lead the Daleks? 😞

if i had a nickel every time matt smith played a blond prince who became consort to a queen who was crowned after her father’s unexpected death and was also a naval man and was initially unwilling to accept his role as her husband and not being the one in power but he loved her regardless and was also related to her, i’d have two nickels
which isn’t a lot, but it is REALLY weird it’s happened twice

You're telling me BBC mentioned "Heat Waves" in an article the same day that Prince Phillips died (somewhat frisky)
I can't believe Prince Phillips died reading Heat Waves

honestly i think prince phillip died in hospital and they've been doing a weekend at bernies type thing

love has no limits... i guess... smh

SLEEPING BEAUTY (1959) dir. Clyde Geronimi, Les Clark, Hamilton Luske, Wolfgang Reitherman

ABSOLUTELY NOBODY:
Maleval Fandom: *FUCK* THE CAT

To everyone who is in disbelief at how Matt Smith has, somehow, played prince consort to very famous queens who also happen to be uncomfortably too closely related to said wife and queen, may I remind you that: in season 5, episode 1, Matt Smith’s doctor passionately kissed and received a proposition for a one night stand from his mother in law.

Please help I’m gonna piss myself from laughing acaggdhejsbsn
Looks like I’m writing that essay that nobody asked for, but the subject is still bothering me, so I’m going to do this anyway. So here it is, my defense of Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, and The Kiss.
Yes, I’m defending that kiss. The one that gets so many people up in arms because Aurora “didn’t consent”.
Before I dive into this, let me clarify what I’m not saying. I’m not saying Sleeping Beauty is a perfect movie, or above criticism, or that people who don’t like it are wrong for not liking it. Personal tastes are personal, and everyone has the right to like or dislike whatever movie for whatever reason.
What gets to me is when I see criticism that says Sleeping Beauty is objectively an inherently bad/problematic movie because of The Kiss, because that’s just not true. It’s fine if that’s someone’s squick or something, but it’s not inherently bad.
Context, context, context. Context is essential for this situation. We’re not talking about a situation where Philip stumbles across a random woman sleeping somewhere and decides “hey, this seems like a great moment for a make out session!”
Philip and Aurora know each other; they’re already in love (love at first sight is a whole separate issue that I’m not addressing in this post; canon establishes they are in love, and that’s that). Philip already knows Aurora has been cursed; the fairies told him. This is a rescue attempt.
In a fairy tale like this, True Love’s Kiss is a known solution for curses (such a known solution, Maleficent actually intended to use it as part of her plot by keeping Philip locked up 100 years and then releasing him so he could wake Aurora from her curse then, so he’d be old and soon die, and they’d never really be together).
He isn’t “making out with her because he thinks she’s hot” he’s trying to save her. I’d argue it’s the equivalent of CPR/mouth to mouth.
I actually just rewatched the scene where Philip kisses Aurora, and I think it’s very interesting to note that he actually doesn’t touch her any more than he absolutely has to; literally never puts hands on her until after she’s awake and happy to see him. So he actually respects her personal space as much as he possibly can given that situation.
Anyway, the tl;dr: Sleeping Beauty is not an inherently sexist/problematic movie just because the solution to the curse was True Love’s Kiss.
I think I gonna sit on Satan's lap after laugh of this...
