I fucking forgot that it is the season of pumpkin spice latte. Damn it now I need to travel all the way to Starbucks to fulfill my stupid cravings.

i know capitalism is bad and that i should limit my participation in consumer culture but have you considered that it’s actually vital that i spend my hard earned wages on a pumpkin spice deodorant so i will smell like an autumnal starbucks all year round

Bath & Body Works released some more fall-themed body care products (Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin, Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte, Champagne Apple & Honey). The company has a sale on all full sized body sprays/mists for $5.95 this weekend as well. I took advantage of it to buy one Viva Vanilla body mist, one If You Musk mist, 2 bottles of Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin lotion, and 2 bottles of Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte lotion. I think I will smell...delicious.
I ordered everything online. I can't wait for them to arrive.
Did y'all know they have pumpkin spice funnel cakes? Yeah, coffee in one hand and powdered sugar pumpkin spicy fried funnel cake in the other. All I need is for the 100+ degree weather to disappear....
This pumpkin spice latte season, I will not be tolerating any PSL or Fall Joy slander. It's fine if you don't like them, but it's a fucking coffee drink that brings people joy. I don't care if you think it's "not real coffee", get off your high horse.

TBH, I don't make a lot of fried food save for catfish, chicken, and such. A neighbor (and friend) has crawfish boils during the season and also deep fry their turkey at Thanksgiving, so this recipe has me intrigued enough I may need to form a collaboration just to check it out and see how the cakes taste. Driveway pumpkin spice funnel cakes! Danger and fire hazards with friends! (honestly, I think it is the camaraderie that emboldens us when we get together that overcomes the doubts about attempting stuff) When the weather breaks, of course. No way am I standing outside over a deep fryer right now. Melt my face off ala Indiana Jones.
I understand that about the kitchen adventures, though. I've had some spectacular fails. My SO is very pragmatic about it and usually quotes the wonderful line from Scent Of A Woman: "If you get tangled up, tango on" and so I do. Has made for some highly entertaining memories, some tearful ones, some rueful ones (the ones with $$$ ingredients), and some rather tasty ones that have since become favorites after a little lot more practice. Neither of us have the budget to spend on travel, so it's a way to feel luxurious and savor life w/o breaking the wallet.
Here's a toast to all things pumpkin and spice along with (hopefully) some cooler weather!

Ello! Are there any life series/Hermitcraft fans who also watch Helluva Boss? Well if you are, there a meme of Jimmy where he would like order a pumpkin spice latte right. Well there's that one helluva boss episode (forget da name :P) where Blitzø and Moxxie are captured by the secret agents or whatever and they jokingly ask for coffee. THEN MOXXIE GOES ON THAT RANT ABOUT HIS COFFEE ORDER and uhh yeah. Js thought that was funny and Jimmy gives that energy.
Pumpkin Spice Latte Cupcakes
Yields 12
The things you’ll need
Ingredients
¼ cup hot milk
¼ cup sweetened condensed milk
½ cup pumpkin puree
1 ¼ cups all purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
¼ teaspoon ground clove
½ teaspoon ground ginger
¼ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
½ cup granulated sugar
¼ cup packed light brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Whipped Cream
2 cups heavy cream
¼ cup sugar
Equipment
Cupcake pan
Brown cupcake liners
Small mixing bowl
Medium mixing bowl
2 large mixing bowls
Electric mixer
Whisk
Rubber spatula
Decorating bag fitted with a #2D tip
Decoration
Pumpkin pie spice
Green straws
Let’s get started!
Preheat oven to 375°F.
In a small bowl, whisk together milk and espresso powder until fully dissolved. Whisk in sweetened condensed milk and pumpkin puree until well combined.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt and spices.
In a large bowl, with an electric mixer, beat butter until creamy. Add sugars and beat until light and fluffy. Scrap down the sides of the bowl as needed.
Add an egg and then beat in vanilla extract.
On low speed, alternate adding the flour and milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.
Fill each cupcake liner two-thirds full with batter.
Bake for about 16 minutes.
Time to decorate!
To make the whipped cream: Pour heavy cream and sugar in a medium bowl and beat with an electric mixer until firm peaks form.
Scoop the frosting into a decorating bag fitted with a #2D tip.
Once cupcakes have cooled completely, pipe a swirl of frosting onto each one.
Sprinkle each cupcakes with a bit of pumpkin pie spice and insert a straw.
TaDa! Fall never tasted so delicious!
