hey there, i'm currently working on a feminist website and i'm looking for the help of other women to give their feedback, their opinions, and advice/expertise. the site is not published yet but it is in the development stage, and i would really like as much help as i can get as i have big plans for it and what it sets out to accomplish.

this is a website that aims to promote activism, raise class consciousness, support women of all backgrounds, organize events, share resources, and build community. there is a serious lack of infrastructure in feminist spaces and having us all shouting into the void on social media is antithetical to true feminist action. this website aims to act as a hub for ALL the wonderful resources the women on here post on their blogs, for ease-of-access and the sake of decentralization. this website also seeks to mitigate the amount of discourse and in-fighting within the community in favor of encouraging direct action, change, and connection.

Okay I'm like, so pissed rn.

I was scrolling through Ig, seeing some kpop edits etc. I came across this video of the bp members on the born pink tour twerking on stage. The video was cute or whatever, but the second I opened the comments was when I got mad. EVERYONE was saying how they're sluts and attention whores and how all they know what to do is be vulgar and inappropriate onstage. But let's consider some things:

- It's their show

- They're grown adults

- ALL those videos come from the encores of the shows, AFTER the main performances. They're HAVING FUN.

Anyways, I scrolled down a bit more and came across another edit, this time BTS. Now listen ARMYs: NO HATE TOWARDS BTS. I am an ARMY myself and am just using them as an example to show this fucked up industry that we love.

Back to the edit.

As I watched it, it showed each member pulling up their shirt and humping the air. I opened the comments section, and guess who found everyone calling them sluts? Yeah, not me. And let's consider this:

- It's their show

- They're grown adults

- It's their DANCE STEP

Now why don't people treat male idols like they treat female idols? Why is it sexy for men to hump air and show abs, but vulgar for women to twerk? Why are men praised when they're "sexy" onstage, but women are slutshamed for doing the same or even LESS? Why is it acceptable for men to be vulgar, but not women? Because, in my opinion, if twerking is considered vulgar, humping the air shirtless is vulgar as well. But maybe you don't consider the dance step vulgar.

Maybe you consider the person doing it vulgar.

But why only the women?

Maybe the problem isn't the female idols.

Maybe the problem is you.

once everyone realizes we're made of waves rather than particles, which means we're all infinitely connected with each other and basically the whole universe, which means what you do to someone/something else affects you as well, we'll all start thinking more about our actions.

If the school dress codes were actually worried about "distracting outfits", they would've banned neon/bright colors and colorful patterns, which are way more distracting than a fucking tank top.
