If I got real I could be drinking motor oil and fighting random people in the parking lot (= forest and hills).
(Quite messy tbh, shells and scales are utter hell)
Kaikreez fused with the king of the skies... Rathalos! One of the monsters I personally hate fighting, a feeling shared amongst the fandom, with a nice reference as there was actually a semi official skeleton drawing out there for me to use as a reference Kaikreez log: “Met by a flying foe with fiery breath, the Shifting demon engages with several Rathalos in battle over the course of a week in his pteranadon form, taking them down and devouring them to the bone to gain their fiery power and poisonous talons”

I finally got to play frontier and just beat the stories 1 remaster, surprised nobody still has been talking about makili i always liked the pietrus (also making them a base ASAP cause i love em also they have concept art for better refs let’s goooo)
So since i’m hyperfixated on the games again i’m making myself bases for every single monster. Finished ibushi now working on rathalos cause i want a destruction wyvern ratha oc and seeing he has so many versions of himself… i kinda had to- I have a flying wyvern guideline at least so may work on a majority of them. Will this be free? Probably not i kinda need money for personal stuff going on but maybe someday in the future if i’m comfortable with it. I’m 100% making adopts with these however :)

And yeah i’m very much aware this is just ratha based on a fairytale dragon for an event in explore but idrc i love the wings and battle axe look on rathalos it’s sick

With some lil babies, being cute. I dunno what the canon is for baby Raths, but I like to imagine they're sort of a warm gray until their dimorphism starts to kick in as adolescents. :3

Ripped Indulgence
Hunting is a raucous profession, that borders on playful, in the same way that a child might skip happily along a cliff edge. But for every drink quaffed and trophy boasted, there is sword that has to be wiped of blood, and a tooth-hole in armour to be repaired.
And while stories are regaled around the braziers, it is easy to forget that the bite you parried was meant for your torso, that your last-moment duck was the difference between a slick movement and your ribcage being shattered. The hefty bounty you just turned in once lusted for your blood, and you owe more to luck than you want to admit.
Because when the palicos run in with their cart, sometimes all they retrieve is a pack with bitten-through straps, or a glaive split like a twig. Or an arm, dropped into a patch of yellowgrass, the armour too thick and fiddly to be worth chewing open.
These are monsters, and it's easy to forget that - right up until your sword is shattered and a claw as large as your leg has pried your armour away, and the teeth that found no purchase on your shield sate their hunger in your body. What was fun and folly becomes the apex of a million years of cruel and merciless evolution, to which your body is kindling and appetizer.
And pray that the tortured anger of a thousand hard-won turf wars is kind to you, does not easily tear your body asunder. Because it nigh-surely will, but perhaps prayer, or hope, or whimpered bargaining will offer a trickling breeze of relief as his highness rips his indulgence into you, and teaches you the finite, final lesson, that eventually all will come to the monsters they hunt.

When you make friends with a cute, awkward Seregios boy and fall in love, but your dad is kind of a jerk and his dad is a horrible monster and also they’re mortal enemies so you have to keep your relationship secret BUT THEN they find out and your Seregios boyfriend gets kicked out so your family takes him in and your dad has a change of heart and lets you guys cuddle on the couch while watching the original Valstrax Wars trilogy on VHS.
Or, these are my characters Azuyan (the azure rathalos) and Ridgethorn/“Ridges” (the seregios) that I have not drawn in quite some time.
Is…is it possible to cut off a monster’s tail, and then get stuck underneath it?
I was playing GU and hunting a Rathalos, and when I cut it’s tail off, it fell on me and then I couldn’t get up for a few seconds. The red gauge for being pinned by a monster didn’t show up, and the Rathalos was across the map.
Has anyone else experienced this, or…?
