ooh hmmm marauders era request? one of the black boys with a self conscious reader? fem or male, i don't mind :)

I decided to make this a headcanon thing because I've been reading lots of them lmao and I also did both brothers because... yes

m/n = male name

REGULUS BLACK:

regulus isn't exactly the best when it comes to handling emotions and everyone knows that

but when it comes to his special other, he is the softest, most patient person in all of hogwarts

whenever m/n would come to reggie during the day or during the night, he would always make sure that m/n was comfortable and felt safe where they were

when m/n told him that he was feeling self-conscious about being compared to the marauders ( he was a gryffindor ), reggie would listen patiently

to help calm the crying boy, he would gently run his hand through m/n's hair, holding him gently as the boy sobbed into his shoulder

sometimes he would speak to the boy in french

they always translated to kind, reassuring things and sometimes 'i love you'

even though m/n didn't always understand, it always calmed down his anxiety and feelings

when m/n came to him during the night, holding back his tears and insecurities, reggie would take him to the common room or library ( or anywhere quiet and isolated )

usually m/n would take a few minutes before explaining in a shaky voice, telling his special other why he felt self-conscious

sometimes, if reggie's dormmates were out of vice versa, the two would share a bed, cuddling each other to sleep

m/n loved being the small spoon

SIRIUS BLACK:

a self-conscious ravenclaw and a loud-ass, confident gryffindor

not exactly what most people would call, 'the perfect couple'

but it actually worked perfectly

m/n was self-conscious, yes, but sirius black and his goofiness always found a way to bring a smile to the boys face

sirius always knew what to say, what to do, etc. when his boy felt self-conscious

of course he didn't always comfort the boy by being loud, goofy and confident, if they were in public he'd do more subtle things, to avoid extra attention

he'd usually gently grab m/n's hand and rub it gently with his thumb

sometimes it would be a comforting hug

or a swift kiss to the cheek, if they were alone or with the marauders
