Western democratic values have become hegemonic in international politics because it is intertwined with international commitments such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Vienna Declaration. These commitments were institutionalized into international organizations such as the United Nations and European Union, which they adopted as core values or principles. These ideas subsequently participate in the organization’s agenda through the body's principles, where those values are distributed (Khoirunnisa & Effendi, 2023)
