Ressources - Tumblr Posts

Nihongami (Japanese hairstyles) - part 3/12: female styles, by Shota Kotake
1 – Subeshi gami variations
Having very long hair (sometimes longer that their height) was a mark of status and beauty for Heian women. A lot of care and efforts were put in growing and keeping their hair long. Once widowed, women had to cut their hair to their shoulders. They were expected to never wear it long again for the rest of their lives.
Suberakashi was a hairstyle worn by kuge and buke (nobles and warrior classes) women from Heian to Muromachi era. Hair was left very long and tied in the back in a ponytail with a loose chignon just above the hairband. Front hair was left free, styled in bangs and/or spread neatly on the shoulders.
Sage gami is a variation of Subeshi gami which was worn by upperrank wives of Daimyo.
Osuberakashi elaborated ponytail and ornamental comb on the forehead were worn by noble ladies for official ceremonies and events.
2 – Hyogo variations
Tate Hyogo is said to have been worn by female kabuki dancers. But it’s mostly associated with middle rank Yujo (prostitutes). Upper rank prostitutes never wore this style. This hairdo probably appeared first during Muromachi era and was brought back during Edo period and Bakumatsu era.
Yoko Hyogo was worn by hight rank Yujo in Yoshiwara and Shimabara from mid Edo era. It was a of variation Tate Hyogo with bigger chignons. Each red light districts had its own way of setting the many decorative pins and haircombs.
Date Hyogo was only worn by Oiran (top rank yujo). With its big chignons and lavishly decorated ornaments, from pins to combs and golden ropes, this hairstyle was the most gorgeous of all.
I’m looking for free podcasts to listen to about:
feminist witchcraft
goddesses
female spirituality
the divine feminine
Does such a thing exist anywhere online? Any recommendations?
Dianic/ Feminist/Goddess reads I've completed and recommend:
Ruth Barret's Women's rites, Women's mysteries. Generally teaches you how to approach priestess work and I will get it when embarking in my priestess journey in a physical copy. Moved me to tears at some points and it may trigger some who have mother issues.
Rebirth of the Goddess, Carol Christ. Actually moved me to tears in many parts and generally talks about the birth of the Goddess movement
The Living Goddess, Marija Gimbutas. Has inspired many sketches due to the lovely collection of Goddess work it has and has deeply soothed me
Keeping her Keys, Cyndi Brannen, first introduction to Hekate and her movement.
Hekate, Her sacred fires, Sorita D'Este. The introduction is a splendid recap of The Goddess's history and a rough timeline of all of her recorded existence
I am in the process of reading more and definetly have more on my pile to read but this one's I have completed with most certainty and can recommend to people interested in Goddess specific things. Many of this can be found in Pdfs on Z-library if accessed through a tor browser or the brand new Anna's Archive. If curious about any books I can attempt to provide a pdf.
~Selenita Signs out.
another thing about the Feminist Spirituality debate:
NONE of the women I have seen arguing against it have actually read The Books on feminist spirituality.
They seem under the impression that when Goddess-worshipers, Dianics and other witches etc talk about our primary deity we are coming from the same place as standard heteronormative neo-Wicca: that there is a Feminine Goddess, Masculine God, immortal souls and an afterlife and literal occult magic.
Some of which outright contradicts Feminist Spirituality and others varying considerably.
Before you criticize the Goddess spirituality movement, I challenge you to read:
Womanspirit Rising, compiled by Carol Christ
The Spiral Dance, by acclaimed ecofeminist activist and spiritual leader Starhawk
The Holy Book of Women's Mysteries, by TERF hero Z. Budapest, and
THEN come talk shit.
The Dianic Tradition by Ruth Barrett
The Dianic Tradition by Jade River
Dianic Wicca: An Introductory Guide by WA

My Dianic/Female Centered witch reading list (will update as I get more)!
The Holy Book of Women’s Mysteries by Z. Budapest (because obviously)
The Chalice and the Blade by Riane Eisler
Who Cooked the Last Supper? by Rosalind Miles
The Skeptical Feminist by Barbara G. Walker
The Spiral Dance by Starhawk
Women’s Rites, Women’s Mysteries by Ruth Barrett
The Pagan Book of Living and Dying by Starhawk
Moon Time by Lucy H. Pearce
Witches, Midwives, and Nurses by Barbara Ehrenreich and Deirdre English
Women Who Run With The Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes
WomanRunes by Starhawk and Molly Remer
Whole and Holy: A Goddess Devotional by Molly Remer
You are the Placebo by Joe Dispenza
The Power of Ritual by Casper Ter Kuile
Feel free to leave some recommendations! I really like hearing especially about non-pagan books that influenced your practice (like the last two listed here were for me)!
Blessed be! 🌙💫✨

I wanted to share with you the different fonts that I love and that I use most often in my creations! This is a non-exhaustive list. I have many others and I might do another post to introduce them to you if you are interested ? You will find them on DaFont (or elsewhere, by typing their names on the web). Some designers like to use different typographies in their creations, others don’t. It’s really a matter of taste, right? =) Personally, I find that typography plays an important role in the composition of my creations. And I always try to select my typos with the greatest care so that they reflect the atmosphere I want to give.

A new post to share the different fonts I use most often in my creations ! ♥ Again, this is a non-exhaustive list and I might do another post to introduce you to others ! =) You will find them on DaFont (or elsewhere, by typing their names on the web).

ENG { I share my sources (the ones I use most often) because I think it could be useful to a lot of people. Of course, you have to search, sort ... But it is definitely worth it, because there are some wonders ! ♥

Vraiment une très bonne idée, merci beaucoup ! =D ♥
