Royals!!! Royals used as trophies!!! Royals getting the crown ripped from their heads!!! Royals stripped of their privilege!!! Royals shown how the peasants are living!!! Royals captured by other Royals!!! Royals kept bound in luxury!!! Royals forced into arranged marriages!!!

There is so much whump potential in princes and princesses. Ever since they were kids they were trained on how to walk, talk, act, breathe, blink. They could start wars by sneezing at the wrong time and have entire nations that need them to be capable. They're hounded by the press and assassins all their life with little distinction between the two. Siblings are a no-go. Even if they aren't planning on killing them or starting a civil war the second the king and queen dies, the king and queen might be planning on killing off all but one of their heirs when they die to try and avoid these things. Friends are also a no-go because they could just be trying to get closer to the center of power which means that they're alone and dealing with all the pressure of literally the entire world on their shoulders.

a usurper(s) tying/chaining a captured royal to their throne just to mock them. bonus points: them throwing daggers and one of the blades piercing the back of the throne just an inch too close to royal's cheek.
