If Bobby and Athena are going on their honeymoon cruise, then almost zero time has passed since last season. So Eddie and Marisol probably haven’t even had their first date yet.

So when the cruise ship goes down, Buddie is separated and neither knows if the other is okay or not. Buck is flashbacks about losing Christopher in the tsunami. Eddie knows Buck still has nightmares about the tsunami and is worried about him.

Eddie realizes how he feels about Buck after he sees him alive and breathing and they embrace one another. And after they’re back at the station Eddie confesses to Chim because he’s so confused and “how did I not know I have feelings for my best friend?!”
