I forgot to reblog it...fucking daft dimbo (me). It's just awesome in every way even from the very beginning đŸ‘ŒđŸ» go check out all her stories folks ❀❀

prologue. a broken heart

Prologue. A Broken Heart

warnings: mention of abuse, arranged marriages, crappy families, angst, heart break, regulus sacrificing himself like in the books/movies, slight death mentions, probably swearing

summary: left broken hearted, regulus' girlfriend must marry sirius to keep her family off her back

a/n: i've decided to post the prologue now and chapter 1 will be posted on the 1st october since this isn't a proper chapter (and i'm nice and really excited for this)

sirius black has always been enamoured with y/n l/n. ever since he was 11 and they sat together on the train, they had been friends their entire lives - but that train ride made him see just how incredible she was. and every day after that he spent all his time admiring her, growing close to her, loving her.

everything was going great, their friendship was perfect... that was until she started dating his brother.

"i told you, you should have told her pads." he rolled his eyes at james "well, yes i know that now. and now i have to watch her fall in love with my brother! godric i'm so stupid!" it was safe to say sirius wasn't having a good day. finding out your crush has been dating your brother for months is a massive kick in the balls. but no matter what, he didn't want to lose her. he couldn't lose her. so he carried on his every day life, trying his best to push his feelings for her down. after all it's wrong to harbour feelings for your brothers girlfriend.

it crushed sirius, every day watching her hug him, hold his hand, kiss him, love him. because of cause the golden boy of the family was the one to get the girl. it was him who she had fallen for, him she couldn't get of her mind, him that had that got the love of sirius's life.

as they approached their 18th birthdays, their families set in motion a plan. sirius and y/n shall marry to ensure pureblood status. neither of which liked this plan, but they couldn't afford to disobey their families anymore - realising that if they didn't do it they'd have more than a scratch on their cheek. if they didn't do this, it'd be much more dyer than that. so y/n was forced to leave regulus, but she had a plan of her own - see him in secret. that was a great plan, until a week before the wedding...

"regulus! please, i can't lose you! not like this" he couldn't bare to see her so distraught. "there's nothing we can do y/n, they're going to make me make an unbreakable vow! promising to never see you again." she looked at him with pain in her eyes "i love you. i'm sorry that this is happening, if i could stop it i would in a heartbeat, but there's nothing i could say to make them change their mind. it's set in stone" he could barely look her in the eye, she was going to marry his brother, and he wasn't stupid. he could see the way sirius looked at her, he wasn't exactly subtle. he was so infatuated with y/n, even a blind man could see it. this was the end of them. and the end of him. he knew what he had to do, he knew he had to stop the dark lord somehow - it would be for the greater good, right?

everyone felt bad, guilty and full of sorrow. so much for bringing everyone together.

sirius didn't know what to, he couldn't be happy. he always wondered what a life with her would look like, but not like this. never like this, so forced and so painful for everyone involved.

the night regulus left she broke, this all set in. he officially couldn't see her anymore, not without dying. she was crying as a knock sounded on her door, so slowly y/n crept her way to the door of her room, cracking it open so she could see who was there. sirius. she sighed a breath of relief, pulling him inside and holding him tightly, breaking down in his arms. it broke his heart to see her crying, and the reason she was crying. he felt selfish, but none of that mattered right now. all that mattered was her. he needed to be her best friend, not the envious brother.

"it's ok y/n/n. it's ok." she just cried more, burying her face into his chest "i'm sorry". this continued, he kept whispering hopefully soothing and calming things, trying desperately to make her feel better. and it worked. she, just for a second, forgot about all of her sadness. all of her pain. it was just her and sirius, like it always had been. "sorry, i'm presuming you didn't just come in here to stop me crying" she tried to joke, but the sniffle at the end took away the little bit of humour that sentence held. "it's ok, i was coming to check on you, too see how you're doing. i guess i got my answer." she nodded and hugged him again.

the dress fitting was tear filled from everyone. y/n because she wasn't marrying the man she wanted to. her aunts because 'she looks so grown up' and her grandma because 'i get to spend this moment with you and i never thought i would'. one of the hardest things for her was to see them all happy, them all enjoying this like it was how normal marriages work. like she was happy. that was the hardest.

Congratulations on reaching a new milestone! So so proud of you! 💜

May i request a little blurb? I came up with my own prompt, I hope that's okay.

Sirius + "Don't make a girl a promise, if you know you can't keep it" 💜

Thank you, lovely ^^ I don't mind writing for your own prompt, so don't worry :D Though I hope you don't mind I decided on the place since you didn't add that to your request :) Also, this is probably not what you imagined, but I like to twist things around and I kind of ran away with it :D

Unbroken promise [Sirius Black x Female!Reader]

Published: 1 September 2021 Word count: 0.9k Author: Heloise Daphne Brightmore Prompt: "Don't make a girl a promise, if you know you can't keep it"

Congratulations On Reaching A New Milestone! So So Proud Of You!

One whole hour. 60 minutes. 3600 seconds. That's how long you have been waiting in front of the little muggle restaurant Sirius promised to take you to. But he was nowhere to be found. After all the week-long missions he had to attend, you just wanted to spend some quality time with him. You knew the war was closing in on you and you couldn't be selfish enough to take Sirius away from what could potentially save millions of people, but you needed him too.

A sudden voice calling your name made you jump, awakening you from your thoughts. Looking over your shoulder, you found Remus standing behind you, his face pale, almost grim. As if your heart could process what your brain couldn't just yet, it started raging anxiously.

"What are you doing here, Remus?" You asked, but he didn't answer. Instead he offered his hand to you, waiting for you to take it. A deep frown spread across your brows as you tilted your head, questioning the meaning of his presence, his gesture, his exhausted gaze. Your heart fluttered uneasily, uncertainty settling in the pit of your stomach. You knew something wasn't right. Heaving a heavy sigh, you accepted Remus' gesture and placed your hand in his palm, letting him drag you across the street to a dark alley. Before you could have even objected, he apparated with a strong hold around your hand, not daring to lose you.

Within seconds you found yourself at the Order's headquarter. Your frown grew deeper as you looked around, studying your surroundings. "What are we doing here, Remus?" Without a reply, he simply led you inside the house, pulling you up the stairs, before he halted in front of a black, wooden door. You were tired of the silence, the secrecy, you needed answers, but once Remus opened the door, you wished you didn't ask for them.

The room was barely lit by the dim lamp on the nightstand, but you couldn't have mistaken the person laying across the king-sized bed, his head wrapped in a white bandage, his eyes shut tight as though he was battling against the pain. Your legs led you inside, even before you could have realised.

Taking a seat on the edge of the mattress, you reached for his face to brush away a lock of black, silky hair, damp from sweat and tucked it behind his ear, whilst gently holding his other hand. Your heart thundered under your ribs, your own skin feeling tighter than usual. Seeing the love of your life injured, unsure of his condition made you feel useless. Without realising your own tears, they slowly escaped down your cheeks, leaving a trail of proof of their existence.

"Is— is he going to be okay?" You asked Remus in a hushed whisper without looking away from Sirius, your voice shaking regardless of trying to sound strong.

"Yes, it's nothing major," he said, earning a simple nod from you, accompanied by a relieved sigh.

Sirius stirred under the heavy duvet, a silent groan leaving his lungs. His lushes fluttered once, twice, before his eyes focused on you and a soft smile spread across his paler than usual face. "Hey," his voice was strained as though he was screaming for hours. His gaze moved to Remus who still stood in the doorway, but once his eyes met Sirius’, the door shut and Remus' receding footsteps echoed from the corridor.

"I hate you," you whispered weakly, your words more of a plea.

But he understood, his smile unfaltering. "I'm fine," he reached up to your face and cupped your cheek. "I'm alright."

"I still hate you," you repeated, relief-filled tears sliding down your face. "You promised to take me out on a date. A date that would take my breath away," you murmured, unwilling to raise your voice, fearing it was a dream to have him beside you with what seemed to be only a minor injury.

"I did, I'm sorry," he replied with a pained expression.

"You are a liar!" You said as tears continued to roll down your cheeks. "Don't make a girl a promise, if you know you can't keep it," your voice hitched. Sirius attempted to push himself into a seated position, but your hands stopped him, gently forcing him down. "Don't you dare move. You need to rest," though you were meant to be stern, your words were nothing but a plea.

"I didn't mean to break my promise," he shook his head.

"You still did, so I'm going to give you one more chance,” you sniffled, waiting for a reply.

"Anything you want, love," his voice was soft, a gentle smile dancing in the corner of his lips.

"Good, because you’re going to have to promise me a lot,” you pouted as you wiped the remaining tears from the corner of your eyes. “Promise me that you will always come back to me. Promise me that you will live for me. Promise me that the next time we plan to do something together, it won't be Remus coming to get me just to tell me you're— that you are—," you couldn't even finish the sentence.

"I promise you. I promise you I will come back to you. I promise you I'll fight just to see that gorgeous smile of yours again. I promise you I'll come home just to wrap my arms around you, to show you that I'm still here and I don't intend to ever leave you," although they were only words, you believed them. You needed to believe them.

"I still hate you," you whispered as you buried your forehead in the curve of his neck.

"I love you too," he chuckled, pressing a soft kiss on your head.

Title: All your fault Pairing: Sirius Black x Gryffindor!Reader Word count: 1.9k Published: 16 February, 2021 Author: Heloise Daphne Brightmore Summary: Sirius’ boredom causes you to end up in detention. Or so you think, but he has a different perspective on the events and you clearly can’t find the golden middle. Request: [x] I have combined two requests. One from Tumblr and one from Wattpad. I took the liberty to change some things, but overall it’s the same.

“Hey Talented! Could you write a Sirius x Gryffindor!reader where the reader is jock with intense emotions and a chaser in Quidditch team? Also Is exceptionally talented at DADA and that make sirius jealous and turned-on too? please?” - @marauders-hogwarts

“Hey, I was just reading your marauders x reader one shots and I had an idea for one. Could you pls make one where Sirius gets into an argument with you and at the end grabs your hand to turn you around and abruptly smashes his lips against yours and asks you to be his girl. And the next day he comes up to you and tell you that ther is something wrong with your hand untill he picks it up and puts his own hand in yours and says that’s better. Please? Thanks so much. I am a huge fan of your work.” - @Tamarakyra [Wattpad]

Sirius Black had never been one to question things. He was very stubborn much to his professors’ dismay. Doing what he wanted regardless of consequences has become his personal motto. Swaying him seemed impossible, he always knew what he wanted, how he wanted it and when he wanted it.

However, on a rainy dull Saturday afternoon as he was watching you up in the air, flying across the quidditch pitch on your broomstick, your hair flat against your face, your uniform drenched in water, your eyes covered with a pair of goggles, something has changed within him. For a mere moment he felt as if time had stopped as you screamed at James for not being able to catch the snitch and win against Ravenclaw. His eyes focused only on you, even forgetting about the ongoing match.

throughout these four thousand words, there was not a single second I didn’t think “major L james”

Could you do a young!James Potter where reader tries to ask him to be their valentines but he keeps talking over them and talking about Lilly. So reader gets fed up and asks someone else, and James gets jealous or smth?

Hypocrisy

Summary: James doesn’t seem to want anyone other than Lily. So after one point, you decide to stop trying

Requested by anon

w/c: 4,500+

Pairing : James Potter x reader, Surprise marauder x reader, marauders x platonic!reader

A/N: I’M SO EXCITED THIS IS MY FIRST EVER REQUEST AHHHHH. Thank you so much anon. Ily

Reader is an animagus here. I made her a wolf animagus (since they do exist, but I kept her marauder name as Aspen (or Penny) so really you imagine any animal)

--------------------------------- <3

There was nothing you and James Potter hadn’t done together. Both of your parents were close and that meant that you usually spent time with each other. More often than not, you’d be at his house. At this point you knew his house better than you did yours.

So were you best friends? Hell yeah.

But what came with being best friends since you were in diapers?

By the 3rd year at Hogwarts, you’d fallen head over heels for the boy.

Now 3 years later, though his obsession for Lily had grown, it changed absolutely nothing. You were in love with James Fleamont Potter.

The rest of the marauders knew. But somehow, James was absolutely oblivious.

But this year would be different. You would confess. You promised yourself.

But now it’s February and you’d done nothing.

“Are you even going to ask him out n/n?” Sirius asked as you both ran to your class. As usual you were too busy pranking the Slytherins to realize that the next class had started.

“Of course I am Black! Patience is a virtue.” You both came to a halting stop in front of your DADA class, straightening out your robes.

“If he doesn’t accept, you know who to contact love,” Sirius said, fixing his hair. You shot him a look. “Way to be a supportive friend, Padfoot.”

He shrugged before stepping into the class.

“Mr. Black! Ms. L/N! Get to your seats,” your professor ordered. He was too accustomed to this by now. You ducked your head taking your seat behind James and next to Remus.

“What was it this time?” Remus whispered, eyes narrowed. Sirius turned back, a huge grin on his face. “Something special for Snivellus,” he sneered, earning a slap on the head from you. “Oh shut up! We didn’t bother Snape. We did however ensure Malfoy wakes up with pink hair tomorrow.” You informed Remus.

This time James turned around, “Bloody brilliant Aspen!” You felt your cheeks heat up before Sirius interjected. “Hey! It was my idea Prongs.”

“WILL THE FOUR OF YOU STAY SILENT FOR ONE CLASS?” your professor yelled, causing the four of you to shut up, not before you and Sirius let out snorts of laughter.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
By that evening, everyone was talking about the plan the 7th Years had hatched.
Everyone who had a date, and only those who had a date to Valentine’s were being asked to ditch class on the 14th to go to Hogsmeade. The prefects made sure that everyone knew that if anyone didn’t have a date and still tagged along, they’d be reported.
“This is your chance, you know?” Remus whispered once the news had reached the Gryffindor common room. You nodded, gulping thickly as the nervousness took over.
“You know who I’m going to ask?” James asked, eyes lighting up. “Lemme guess Prongs, uhhhhh, i dont know? Lily maybe? As in the Lily you’ve been asking since first year?” Sirius asked, feigning confusion. He was met with a flying cushion to his face as he fell back laughing.
You knew he was right. James was going to ask Lily. And it didn’t help that you’d noticed the way Lily had started paying more attention to him. Remus put his arm around you and Sirius caught your eyes as he got back up. Something flashed in his, but for the first time since you’d met him, you couldn’t comprehend it.
“Who are you gonna ask Pads?” James asked, his homework long forgotten as he stretched out his arms.
Sirius seemed to have been caught-off guard which surprised you. It was normal for him to have a plan weeks before Valentine’s day. Remus, you and Peter would just tag along as James pestered Lily the entire day and Sirius hung out with his date. Except that one time in 4th year when a cute Hufflepuff had asked you out. Though it didn’t last long, even he could see the way you looked at James.
“I-I’m not gonna ask anyone,” he said, glancing over at you. Why did he look at you? Did he think you were going to judge him?
“Well,” Remus said leaning forward, “I’m going to ask a Ravenclaw out. The one that sits next to me in Charms.” The four of you gawked at Remus. “What?!” you asked. He shrugged, “She’s cute, and smart, and I think she likes me.” You leaned back, “Well shit, even Remus has a date now,” you said, throwing your hands up. He swatted your arm, “What’s that s’posed to mean?” You shook your head laughing.
“Well uh- I’m gonna ask out a Hufflepuff,” Peter said, rubbing his hands together. Your jaw dropped. “That makes it official. Penny, you and I are gonna be left behind to study,” Sirius gagged. “Does that mean you think I have a chance, Pads?” James asked, smirking.
Sirius shrugged, “Honestly? I’d say this year? You do,” Nodding towards where Lily was sitting. You whipped your head around just in time to see her hair flying as she turned away.
She’d been looking at James.
You covered your face with your hands, leaning into Remus’s side as he gave your shoulder a squeeze.
When you peeked through your fingers, you saw Sirius giving you an apologetic look, and James just staring at Lily, with a start-struck look on his face. You sighed, getting up and grabbing your books. “I’m gonna call it a night,” you mumbled. “You alright love?” Remus asked, concern etched across his face. You gave him a weak smile. “Yeah Remmy, just tired,” you said. You didn’t dare to look back as you wished them all good night.
You hadn’t lied. You were tired. Just not the exhausted kind of tired.
Tired of watching him fall more in love with her.
You lay in your bed, staring at the ceiling. Maybe. Just maybe if you got to him before he asked her out. Maybe.
You clenched your fist, shutting your eyes tight as your roommates walked in, giggling. Someone shushed them. But their whispers were still loud.
“So you’re gonna accept?”
“Maybe, we’ll see.” You felt your eyes watering.
“Dorcas, you owe me a butterbeer.”
“You bet on this?!”
You shut your eyes tighter, the tears rolling down your cheek. Drowning the girls in your room out, you decided you had to get to him first.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Charms was the first class of the day. Also the only one that only you and James had. Sirius, Remus and Peter had a free period, and Lily wasn’t there either.

It was the one time you really got James to yourself.

“You alright n/n? You went to bed early yesterday, and you were quiet at breakfast,” James asked, placing his hand over yours, brows furrowed together in concern.

You nodded, smiling. “Like I said, I was just a bit tired is all,” you replied.

He nodded, taking his hand off, as he went back to playing with his quill.

Goddammit.

You started bouncing your leg up and down, nerves completely taking over you. Would this even work? Would he say yes? Or would it break your friendship forever? You wouldn’t know unless you asked.

You sighed. It was now or never. You cleared your throat before slightly turning to him. “Jamie”

He hummed, scribbling something on a piece of paper.

“About the hogsmeade trip on the 14th-”

“How’s this?” He asked, shoving the piece of paper he’d previously been writing on, into your hands.

You held it in complete shock, eyes wide as it scanned the paper.

It was a poem.

-----------------------------------

Your eyes have got me mesmerized

Your smile keeps me on a high

I know you think I'm arrogant,

Full of myself, a bit too content

But believe me when I say

Your responses make my day

I’m hoping that, I can gather the guts

To ask you out, before you make me go nuts

So today is the day,

I’d like to know if you’d be my date?

On Valentine’s Day?

----------------------------------

It wasn’t perfect. But it was beautiful. Your heart was beating loud against your rib cage.

Was it meant for you?

Your hands were shaking, “I-”

“It’s for Lily, though I think that’s a bit obvious by now.” he laughed nervously.

You froze. Your heart dropped, and suddenly breathing became difficult. You couldn’t think. Couldn’t speak.

How foolish of you.

“So? How is it?” James asked, trying to duck and meet your eyes.

You blinked away the gathering tears, forcing a smile.

You looked up at him, straight into his beautiful hazel eyes. “It’s amazing James. If I were her, I would be absolutely flattered.” You said, your voice shaking slightly.

You willed yourself to hold it together, just until next period. You were free then, and so were Sirius and Remus.

James beamed. “Thanks Y/N.” He took the paper from your hands again, grinning all the while.

You turned back to the front of the class. You couldn’t focus, so instead you closed your eyes, trying to ignore the sting in your chest.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The moment you filled your friends in, Remus engulfed you in a hug. You tried not to burst into tears, as he held you tight, rubbing his hand up and down your back, as you clutched onto his sweater. After a few moments he pulled away, reaching into his pocket to grab a few chocolates and handed them to you. You mumbled a thanks before plopping down next to Sirius, who immediately wrapped his arm around your shoulder, and you leaned into him. You’d hugged him before, but for some reason, this felt a little different. You shrugged it off, thinking it had to do with what you’d just felt.
“You still have a few days left n/n,” Remus said, cleaning up his desk, knowing far too well that none of you were going to study now. “He won’t say yes Moony,” you mumbled, wiping away a stray tear.
“Well, you gotta talk over him y’know,” Sirius said. His voice was thick with emotion. Which? You couldn’t tell. Nor did your mind register that fact. Remus watched Sirius carefully, as you opened yet another chocolate to gulp down.
“Won’t listen,” you said, licking the chocolate off of your fingers.
“You gotta make him n/n. Make him see what he’s missing. That someone’s there that loves him. That he’s unnecessarily running behind someone who isn’t giving him a second thought.” Sirius gulped. “Wise words Pads,” Remus said, smiling softly.
You hummed. Oblivious to the conversation both the boys were having with their eyes.
“Alright, I’ll try just twice more,” you declared, sitting up straight, looking at both the boys. Remus gave you an encouraging smile, but Sirius wouldn’t even look at you. Again, filled with emotions of your own, you didn’t think much of it.
You flipped open your books, and started scribbling. You had the entire day left to try. The last day to confirm was the day after, so you had time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The Gryffindor common room was often quiet in the afternoon, and it was usually the perfect place for you to get away from the craziness of it all. The silence was comforting more often than not, but today it only allowed your thoughts to grow. You shook it off, trying to enjoy the peace while you could.

The boys could be a handful sometimes.

However, you were surprised when Sirius stepped through the painting. “Hey,” he said softly, dropping his bag onto the couch before sitting in front of you. “Hey?” You responded, confused. He shrugged, before taking out his books and a quill and started writing.

You smiled softly. Him being here surrounded you in a weird sort of comfort. You took advantage of it, trying to focus on your homework.

That was until he came barging into the room.

“Evans just rejected a Ravenclaw! I’d say I’ve got a good chance,” he cheered before plopping down on the couch, arms outstretched. You and Sirius looked at eachother. Yet again, that look was back. The one you couldn’t read.

But just like that it was gone again, a smirk on his lips as he pointed to James with his thumb.

Your eyes widened.

But he was right and you knew it.

“James, I was thinking, for Valentine’s-”

“I should get Lily flowers! I’d love getting a card or flowers, though I think she would prefer roses,” James smiled. “Bloody genius n/n,” he grabbed his bag and just like that he was running out again.

You blinked a few times.

“Did he just- cut me off? A-Again?” You asked, your voice filled with hurt.

Sirius was next to you within seconds. “Well you know what to do now. You get him a card. He can’t cut you off then right?”

You looked at him, the words registering in your mind as you nodded slowly. “Yeah, yeah that’s-” you looked at your books. “You know what? Fuck this,” you shoved all your books into your bag, “I’m gonna get James a card,” you said standing.

“N-now?” Sirius asked, surprised.

You nodded, quickly bending down to kiss his cheek. “Bloody brilliant Siri.” And then you ran out.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“James!” you called out running up behind him in the halls, one hand behind your back.
He spun around smiling, wrapping his hand around your shoulders once you reached him.
“Sorry, I’ve been so caught up trying to figure out what to get Evans that we haven’t really hung out,” he said.
You ignored the pang in your chest.
Third time’s the charm.
“Uh- about that James,” you handed him the card, revealing it from behind your back.
He stared at the beautiful handwriting.
You’d just drawn a bunch of hearts and written:
Will you be my Valentine?
In perfect cursive too, which was saying something, because you didn’t know cursive. At all.
He stared at it for a few seconds, your heart beat getting so loud and fast that you were sure he could hear it by now.
But when a grin broke out on his face, you calmed down.
Sirius was a gen-
“You’re the best, best friend ever Y/N!”
What?
“I-”
“This is just what she would like! I owe you a big one!” he said, engulfing you in a hug. Though his body was warm, the hug felt as cold as ice. It felt like someone had ripped your heart open.
Your eyes watered. “No James I-”
“It’s perfect n/n. Thank you,” he said pulling away, eyes scanning the card again.
You felt sick, the tears spilling over.
“I’m gonna give it to her ok? See you later,” he said, running off.
He hadn’t even looked at you.
A sob racked your body, your legs giving in. How was he so goddamn oblivious?
But you never hit the ground.
Strong arms wrapped around you, the smell of honey and cinnamon enveloping you. They lowered you gently to the ground. “I got you love,” he whispered.
Sirius.
You curled into him, sobbing continuously and uncontrollably. You could hear people whispering all around you, but you couldn’t care less. “What is this ruckus?” came a strong feminine voice. “Goodness,” you heard her whisper. You didn’t open your eyes, and yet the tears never stopped flowing. Sirius’s sweater was wet now, and above all else, guilt creeped up on you. Why did you always allow him to pick up the pieces? Plus he liked this sweater a lot and now you were ruining it. You clenched your eyes tighter, trying to let the cinnamon scent calm you down.
“Everyone scram! Go on, get back to your classes!” she yelled.
You fisted Sirius’s sweater, as he ran a hand through your hair.  “Mr.Black, take her back to the Gryffindor common room, I believe she requires yours and Mr.Lupin’s attention. You three are excused from classes today,” She said softly.
God bless you Professor McGonagall.
“Thank you Professor,” Sirius responded. He brushed the stray hair from your face. “Love, let’s get you out of here yeah?”
You couldn’t open your mouth, not trusting your voice, so you just nodded, finally opening your eyes. He helped you up, nodding once to your professor as you both walked back to the common room.
His hand never left your shoulders.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

You were curled up on your bed, staring at your wall blankly, when Sirius came back with Remus. Both the boys’ pockets were full of chocolates, and Sirius was carrying his favorite sweater. The one which was also your favorite sweater. You sat up, taking it from him and slipping it on. James called it your “breakdown” sweater.

The James that would never be yours.

Your eyes overflowed with tears again, and you tugged your knees closer to you.

Remus quietly climbed onto your bed, wrapping his arms around your shaking frame, and Sirius sat at the edge of your bed, watching with concern. You didn’t say anything. Not when Remus excused himself to go keep James busy.

Not when Sirius took Remus’s place, pulling you into him. Not when he took out your favorite novel and started reading.

Not after you started drifting off, when Sirius placed a soft kiss on your forehead, whispering good night and slipping away. Not when everything in you told you to reach out and ask him to stay.

Not when you realized you still had his sweater on, and he hadn’t even asked for it back.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You were awoken by the smell of butter on toast. And chocolate.
“Remus it’s too early,” you mumbled, burying your face in the pillow.
“Breakfast’s done already. Do you know what kind of excuses Sirius and I had to come up with?” Remus chided, shaking your shoulder gently.
You propped yourself up on your elbows, turning to face him. “I’m sure he didn’t even ask,” you grumbled, pushing the hair out of your face. Remus frowned at that. “Of course he did. Sure he might be a prick for not seeing the obvious but you’re still his best friend. He still cares,” he reached into his pocket, taking out a piece of paper.
“He wanted me to give it to you, since he’s got class,” he held it out to you. You stared at it for a few seconds before slowly taking it from Remus’s hands and sitting up straight.
Hey, hope you’re doing alright? The boys told me you’re down with a bad cold. Sorry I can’t come now, you know how it is with charms yeah? I promise I’ll come meet you as soon as I can.
-------------------------
You huffed, crumpling up the paper. The audacity! Remus shook his head, handing you the tray of food next.
“You’re such a hypocrite,” he mumbled. But you heard him.
“Me?” you asked, shocked. Remus nodded.
“How?”
He shook his head again, laughing slightly. “You’re mad at James for missing the oblivious when you’re doing the same goddamn thing!”
You blinked a few times, before his words settled in and your eyes grew wide. “You like me?”
Remus was taken aback, before he burst out laughing. “No you dummy, I’m talking about Sirius!”
“Ohhhhhhh.” You took a bite of the toast, chewing quietly. Sirius liked you? You felt your chest get heavy, an unfamiliar sensation flooding through you.
Guilt and
hurt? No, it’s like what you felt when you first started liking James.
“I know you love James, but can I offer a solution?” Remus asked you, one eyebrow raised. You nodded slowly unsure of where he was going with this.
“If there is just a tiny place for Sirius in your heart, give him a chance. If not, don't. I don't want to be there to pick up the parts for that mess,” he told you, popping a chocolate into his mouth. “However,” he held up a finger, “If any part of you, over the past year has felt anything romantic for Sirius. Please do ask him out. It’s been difficult taking care of both of you. Peter will drive himself completely, completely mad  if Sirius has even one more breakdown.”
“Peter knows?” you asked.
Remus laughed, “Why do you think I called you a hypocrite? It’s kind of obvious.”
Now that you thought about it, it made sense.
All the time he spent with you. The glances from across the room.
And goddammit, the look you couldn’t decipher.
You groaned, “Remmy what’ve I done??”
He shrugged. “Tomorrow’s the deadline. You still have time. While I have a date to fix,” he said with a smirk. You smiled, “Good luck!”
And then you were left alone. You looked at the half eaten toast, and then to your hand, where Sirius’s long sweater was bunched up near the wrist. You sighed. “Oh Siri, you golden-hearted boy.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After spending nearly the entire day in your room thinking, you made your way to find Sirius, knowing exactly where he was going to be.

“Sirius Orion Black!” you called out as you barged into his dorm room.

His head whipped around, eyes wide in shock. “It was Remus’s idea!” he yelled.

Your eyebrows knitted together in confusion. “Huh?”

“You’re gonna ask why James thinks you’re sick right? It was Remus’s idea, I just wanted to punch him,” He said, raising his hands up in defense.

“What? No, that’s not why I’m here,” you replied, climbing up onto his bed, sitting in front of him.

“It’s not?”

You shook your head. He had papers and books sprawled out around him. You realized he was catching up on school work, considering he’d missed all the evening classes yesterday. You felt bad, he had sat there comforting you, as you cried over another boy, while he was in love with you.

“I’m thinking you and I should ditch all the classes on the 14th,” You said, playing with the sleeve of your - his sweater. You slipped it off, handing it back to him, ignoring that the feeling of slight comfort which had helped you fall asleep last night was now gone.

He shook his head, “Looks good on you,” he told you, pushing your hand away. You gladly put it back on, the cinnamon smell wrapping around you again. Maybe you weren’t being oblivious to just Sirius’s feelings.

“Anyways, what do you mean?” he asked, running a hand through his hair.

“I mean we should go to Hogsmeade,” you shrugged. You didn’t know how to say it.

“We can’t? We don’t have dates,” he said, narrowing his eyes at you.

Were his eyes always so mesmerizing?

“Yeah I know.” You swallowed, your throat going dry. The feeling in your chest doubled, it was like drowning, and taking a fresh breath of air, at the same time.

He cocked his head to the side. That motion almost always had you laughing, he looked like a child! “You’re not making any sense n/n” he said, brows furrowed together.

You played with his sweater, looking down at your hands. “I-I’m saying we should go to- you know- Hogsmeade. The tw- The two of us. Together.” You looked back up at him, watching his expressions change.

Confusion to realization, then after a solid minute, “Li-Like a date? Are you asking me to be your date on Valentine’s?” he asked. His eyes were shining now, happiness ghosting his features.

You nodded, and he grinned. The biggest, goofiest grin you’d ever seen.

“Yes, I am. And hopefully be my boyfriend too. And I don’t want you to think that you’re a second choice or something, it’s just, I’ve been so blind, to your feelings, a-and mine and I-”

You were cut off, Sirius leaning over all his books, hands cupping your cheeks, as his lips landed on yours.

You froze for a second, before you responded, kissing back with as much passion and force.

When he pulled away, he was still grinning. “I don’t care. I get to call you mine now yeah? And I know you well enough to know that it’s not just to get James back or something.”

You smiled, nodding. He took your hands in his, your heart racing. Who knew even he could make you feel like this? Actually, no. With James it’d been pain, mixed with love. But here it was joy, a pure bliss that took you over from head to toe. “I’m going to go fill out that form right now, and make this official,” he pulled you close, pecking your lips once, before running out of the room. You laughed, your cheeks a bright red.

Who would have thought?

Feb 14th - Valentine’s Day

For the past week James couldn’t decide on an emotion. He was happy that Lily had finally decided to give him a chance. However, every time he saw you and Sirius, a weird feeling crept up into his chest.

He’d felt it before with Lily.

Jealousy.

And it made no sense, because why was he jealous? He should be happy for you.

But he knew why.

You would officially never be his.

Sure, he was pining over Lily. He was in love with her. But he couldn’t deny the feelings he had for you, that he’d harbored all these years.

So as he watched you and Sirius dancing around and giggling, he couldn’t help but feel like he’d lost something.

And while finally being able to call Lily his made him feel amazing, the thought that you were no longer his, felt like a stab in the heart.

“It was always him wasn’t it?” He mumbled to himself as Lily went to speak with Marlene and Dorcas.

“No mate, it wasn’t,” he heard Remus laugh next to him.

“Dammit the hypocrisy is real!” he said, shaking his head.

“What are you talking about?” James asked, still watching you as Sirius picked you up, spinning you around.

“It was always you. Poor Sirius bared the full force of it all, just to make her happy. You ran behind Lily for 6 years, Y/N ran behind you for 3 and Sirius ran behind her for 2. You know she used to say the same thing about you? That it was always going to be Lily?” Remus asked, turning to James.

James felt like he’d been slapped. “What?”

Remus shook his head again, “Oh Merlin, I can’t take this anymore.” And promptly walked off.

James stood there, feeling terrible, as the events of the past two weeks caught up with him. He’d been so invested in Lily, he hadn’t even realized that you were trying to ask him out.

So as he stood there, his own date not far from him, James wished he’d paid a little more attention to you. And though deep in his heart, he knew that you and Sirius and him and Lily, was the pairing that was meant to be, he couldn’t help but wonder what would’ve happened, had he not been so invested in someone who took forever to be his, when you were right there all along.

hi <333 perhaps a cute scenario where the reader suddenly gets a nose bleed from stress, maybe remus or sirius helps and takes care of the reader (unrequited love, mutual pining ??) i often get nose bleeds

nosebleeds

summary — sirius worries for you when you get a stress nosebleed.

content — sirius black x reader, nosebleeds!, mentions of blood

Most of the time they come on before you can stop them. You’re never the first to notice them when you’re not alone.

You’re too busy talking to Sirius in a quiet corner of Lily’s living room to notice it.

“She owns four of them, Sirius,” you say, halfway through a giggle. It’s nice because you’ve had an awful week and he has this special way of unwinding you. “Four! They’re so cool.”

He’s reaching into his pocket for a cloth and you don’t take notice. Too busy thinking about how your next-door neighbour has four chickens in her backyard. But then he’s raising his hands to your face and you stop gushing.

“Hey, slow down for a sec, sweetheart,” he says softly. He holds the tissue to your nose and he’s got his other hand at the base of your head. You startle, but not like you should because it’s only him.

“Is my nose bleeding?” you ask. He presses firmer and you wrinkle your face up.

“Yeah,” he says softly. Though he looks like he’s about to panic. “Sorry, does it hurt?”

“No,” you say honestly. Your voice a little stuffed up where he has the cloth.

“Can you hold it for me?” he asks and lightens the pressure up a bit for you to know you can hold it.

You blink, nodding robotically. Scrambling to relieve him where he’s got his hands. “Sorry,” you say flustered because he’s got his hands all over you and it’s really hard to focus when he’s also looking at you like that.

You replace his with your own and he smiles sympathetically when blood starts to dribble over your lips and down your chin. You start to heat up with embarrassment, holding a second hand under your face to stop it from dripping on your clothes.

“Wait there,” he says quickly, “I’ll go find something. Can you tip your head back?”

“Does that work?”

“I’m not sure. Might save that pretty top, though.”

“Right,” you say breathlessly. He’s unbelievable.

You stand to the side trying to not make a mess when Sirius returns after a moment. He’s got a wet flannel and some more tissues. There’s a plastic water bottle tucked under his arm.

“Give me those,” he says. He’s being completely serious.

“My bloody tissues?” you ask through a laugh. He smiles and motions for you to hand them over. “Sirius you don’t have to.”

“It’s okay, I’ve dealt with worse,” he says kindly.

You know what he’s implying. He looks after Regulus all the time and Remus like he’s family. This is nothing comparable.

You peel the cotton from your face and are happy when you notice it’s almost stopped completely. They never hurt but there’s always a pressure behind your eyes that’s mostly manageable.

“Here,” he says using a hand to hold your face. You startle again though not as bad as before. Sirius is always touching you but never near your face.

He pushes his thumb into your cheek to tilt your head closer to the window. He starts to dab at your lip where blood's been smeared and you try to stay still. You blink quickly because you can’t help it.

“Sirius, I know how to clean myself,” you say kindly and try not to look him in the eye. Where his tongue is peeking out from between his perfect teeth. “I get nosebleeds all the time.”

“I know,” he smiles quickly and turns to look at you. “But I want to.”

Your skin goes numb where he’s got his hands. You’d assume the dizziness was from your tiring week if Sirius didn’t normally have this effect on you.

He finishes up as best as he can manage and hands you the cloth in case you need it. Handing you the bottle afterwards.

“Drink,” he says softly. You know you shouldn’t argue, you’d expect him to pour the water in your mouth himself if you denied him.

“You’re bossy,” you laugh before taking a sip. The cool water soothes your chest where it slowly makes its way down. You close your eyes for a moment.

“I know you’re stressed," Sirius says with the barest hint of a frown. You wish he wouldn't.

"God, am I that harsh?" you ask and can't help the pathetic laugh you give him.

"I know you get nosebleeds when you're stressed, Y/N," he tells you and it honestly surprises you.

You never told him that. "Oh."

You hold the flannel back to your face like you need to, not because you'd rather busy yourself with something else than feel yourself set alight under Sirius's horribly attentive gaze.

Sirius wipes a mark from your cheek that you missed with his thumb and it strikes your skin like a match against its box. "I wish you'd tell me when you're stressed out, sweetheart."

"I'm okay," you sniffle, letting your hand fall to your side. Your limbs feel heavy, your head even worse. You liked it better before your nose had played up and you were talking about chickens.

"You're nose is bleeding."

"I'm okay, really."

"Y/N..."

"Okay," you giggle, "Sorry. Next time I'm stressed I'll...I'll call you." Any excuse, really.

"Good," he says a little too pleased. "Good, because then I'll have an excuse to come see you."

summary: sirius accidentally apparates into your bed instead of his.

.ăƒ»ă€‚.ăƒ»ă‚œâœăƒ».ăƒ»âœ«ăƒ»ă‚œăƒ»ă€‚.

sirius felt pathetic.

“i feel pathetic,” sirius whined, throwing himself on one of the potters’ cushy sofas. he buried his face in a decorative pillow and kicked his feet against the couch cushions.

“quit your little temper tantrum,” lily said, rolling her eyes. “it makes you look more pathetic.”

“which is shocking, because i didn’t think it could even get worse,” remus piped from his seat at the kitchen island, where he was doing yesterday’s daily prophet crossword.

“what’s a six-letter word and starts with an ‘s’ that could be similar to cowardly?” remus tapped his quill against his chin.

“scared?” said sirius.

“sirius?” said lily.

“hey, i’ll have you know that i am in fact a gryffindor, despite what my parents have to say about it!” sirius retorted, throwing his pillow at lily’s head blindly and missing.

“what the-” you were hit in the chest by a flying pillow as you wandered into the sitting room, looking for your friends. you identified sirius as the culprit. “are you serious?”

“why yes, i am!”

you rolled your eyes but with no real malice; instead, discarding the pillow to the side and flung yourself on top of sirius’ back with full force. he oomph’d at the sudden weight.

you wrapped your arms around his shoulders and tucked your knees into his sides to pin him down. he protested meekly.

lily giggled as she watched sirius squirm under you as he pretended to be upset while you clung onto him triumphantly. sirius could’ve easily pushed you off, or even flipped you over, but he wasn’t going to complain about how close you were to him. no, sirius didn’t mind it one bit.

loud, thunderous footsteps could be heard bounding down the stairs as james made his presence known. euphemia trailed behind him, wary but amused.

“james, you can apparate now,” she chided. “why do you insist on causing such a ruckus every time you use the stairs?”

“but muuuuum, last time i crashed into the clock and you were all upset. i’m just being cautious.” james smiled guiltily.

euphemia waved him off. “your friends combined make less noise than you do, james.” she sighed happily as she watched her mosh of children settle soundly into her home. remus was sleepily humming a muggle song, james had taken a seat by lily and was resting his head on her lap, while you and sirius continued to smother each other.

“remus, feel free to head upstairs anytime,” euphemia said sweetly. she looked towards your crowd. “and you all as well. there’s no rush, but it’s getting late and fleamont and i will be heading to bed soon.”

there was a chorus of thank yous as euphemia left, leaving the lot of you alone on the lower level. lily looked at you and quirked her head.

you nodded. “i think lily and i will start washing up as well; goodnight everyone!”

lily kissed james’ forehead. james’ blush was apparent even in the dimness of the evening.

sirius perked up as you slid off from his back with a laugh, hoping for a kiss too. the two of you were normally affectionate anyway, so it didn’t seem so demanding.

when you made no indication of giving sirius a goodnight kiss, he sat up and pouted theatrically. “what about me? can i have a kiss too?” he whined, pointing his chin at james, who looked smug.

you appraised sirius for a minute “hmm, let’s see. have you been a good boy today?” you tapped your chin like you were deep in thought.

sirius’ heart raced.

“i think so, yes,” you decided, stepping closer to the anxious boy. you pressed three fingers to your lips—it was better than nothing, sirius decided—and slapped him (gently!) across the face.

“there’s your kiss!” you grinned mischievously.

james and lily laughed, even earning a snort from remus, who was half-asleep already.

“hey, that wasn’t- you slapped me!” sirius stammered, feeling cheated. “look how nicely lily gave prongs his kiss! you conniving little minx!” sirius crossed his arms.

“ah, well lily and james are dating and we are very much not. you’ve got to be promoted to the boyfriend level to earn that kind of salary.”

lily nodded solemnly. “that’s true. and your resume must be strong, too. job offers can be very competitive these days, y’know? and your girl has a lot of applicants.” lily winked at you.

your girl, sirius thought. he liked that. “well, how can i apply?” sirius joked, looking up at you with raised brows.

you pinched his cheek endearingly. “oh sirius, you flirt. now goodnight, all.” lily took your hand and pulled you up the stairs, hushed whispers trailing behind you and the occasional giggle from lily. sirius sat on the couch, dazed.

“what in merlin’s name happened?” james hissed loudly. “what do you call that, pads?”

remus rubbed his eyes blearily and sat beside james. the two boys stared down sirius from their couch like they were courtroom judges and sirius was being interrogated. in a sense, he was.

“i- i don’t know! she just slapped me and then ignored what i said!” sirius exclaimed.

james shushed him. “you’re going to wake up the entire house!”

remus sighed disappointedly. “are you two daft? she clearly thinks you’re flirting with her-”

“-i am!”

“-as a joke. you flirt with everyone, padfoot. coming from you, flirting is almost like
 platonic behavior.”

“that literally makes no sense, you realize that, right?” sirius scoffed.

james hummed and shook his finger as he came to realization. “no, no. moony’s right-”

“-when am i ever not right?”

“-you flirt with all your friends. if you want to make it obvious you like her, you have to treat her differently. for you, that wouldn’t be flirting. it’d be more like
”

remus butted in. “domesticity, i think. little, genuine things that let her know you’ve been thinking of her. nothing too theatric; that’ll make her think you’re doing it jokingly too. you’ve got to be personal with her
 vulnerable, even. yes, that’s it. you should be vulnerable. everybody knows loud, annoying padfoot-”

“-i am not annoying!”

“-but if you let her see you without all the exaggeration, she’ll know you really mean what you say.”

james and sirius looked at lupin, impressed. james shook his head like he was clearing his thoughts. “when did you become so wise, moony?”

remus smirked. “wouldn’t you like to know?”

--

sirius couldn’t sleep. well, he was restless most nights, often plagued with nightmares or a constant stream of thoughts, but tonight he was simultaneously battling james’ snoring and remus’ rolling and shuffling around.

sirius groaned quietly, draping an arm over his eyes. he needed a break. with a quick breath, he apparated himself into the potter’s kitchen and poured himself a cup of juice, sipping quietly as he leaned against the counter.

living at james’ house was like living on the moon. at home, sirius never got to decide when he wanted to sleep. he wasn’t allowed to brush his teeth with his friends and get foam all over the counter, or nibble on a secret stash of sweets at midnight, much less leave his room to raid the fridge.

when sirius finished his juice, he wrapped up his late night escapade with a quick scourgify and a quiet sigh. once again, he apparated upstairs to avoid the creaky staircase.

sirius had made a grave error.

“what the-” you sputtered for the second time that night. “sirius?”

sirius looked down at your sleeping figure. this time, he was the one sitting on top of your body, though he was considerably heavier than you were.

“lumos,” you whispered. “sirius, what the hell are you doing here?” you tried to sound scolding, but your voice came out slurred and bleary as you tried to blink yourself awake.

“i- i don’t know! i tried apparating back to-”

“shhh!” you furrowed your eyebrows, grabbing him by the neckline of his shirt and pulling him into bed beside you. “you’ll wake lily! thank godric she’s a deep sleeper.”

you huffed, pushing yourself upright. while the boys were crammed into james’ room, you and lily were sharing the guest bedroom which housed two larger twin sized beds. there was just enough space for sirius to move off your chest and to your side.

“i’m sorry, i went downstairs for a drink and i must’ve apparated to the wrong place or something-”

“clearly! how on earth did you manage that?”

“i don’t know! i’m tired, alright?” he punctuated his words with a big yawn.

“you know,” you began, a smug look growing on your face. “you have to envision where you want to go when you’re apparating. thinking of me in bed, are you now?”

sirius gulped, burning with nerves at your close proximity. “n-no! i mean, it’s not that i haven’t thought about- shit, i mean- uh, i can go now, if you want.”

you laughed breathily. “you’re good, siri.” you yawned. “maybe
 maybe you should stay here for the night. i don’t want you to splinch yourself if you’re tired.”

sirius chewed his lower lip, admiring the side of your face as you fiddled with the edge of your blanket. he was wordless as he tried to steady his breathing.

you turned your head suddenly with wide eyes and met his. “you don’t have to, of course! i don’t want to make you uncomfortable, i just thought-”

“no- oh no, i mean, yes! yes, i’ll stay. i’d love- like to stay. i appreciate it,” he smiled, eyes flickering across your face. you hadn’t realized how close the two of you really were; you could easily kiss him bump heads if you leaned in. of he shuffled a bit closer to you and his thigh brushed yours. “sorry, the bed’s a little small.”

your mouth formed a little O as you scooted over as well, making more room for him. “i hadn’t realized—here, you can have some more space. you’re bigger anyway.”

the two of you awkwardly adjusted as sirius slipped under the covers. he punched the pillow a few times and cozied into a comfortable position. his body faced yours; his breath fanned over your skin.

“hey,” you whispered giddily.

“hi,” he echoed, biting his lip to stop himself from smiling too largely. sirius’ face seemed to melt into something soft—it was a vulnerability you’d never seen from him—as he gazed at you. he almost seemed to marvel at you.

“you’re so beautiful, y’know?” sirius murmured, brushing a few loose hair from your face. when he was finished, he didn’t pull his hand away. instead, he let it cup your cheek gently as he began to rub little semicircles into your skin with his thumbs.

“that means a lot, coming from the prettiest boy i know.” you placed your hand on top of his, hooking his thumb between yours to stop the movement. “my pretty boy, hm?”

your eyelids fluttered. sirius wasn’t sure if you were fully present; you looked half asleep. still, your words made his heart flutter, even though he knew he shouldn’t take them to heart.

“my best girl,” sirius cooed, slipping his hand out from under yours to wrap it around your shoulder instead. he pulled you closer to his chest and you eagerly obliged until the two of you were completely pressed together. you sighed in contentment.

sirius pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead. “g’night, lovely. i- i love you.”

you responded with a soft snore.

--

click! a bright flash and twinkling laughter made you open your eyes. you squinted at the harsh light—had somebody left the blinds open? you groaned, making a note for tonight.

you buried your head into your pillow, inhaling a deep breath of the potters’ laundry detergent. you knew the family was rich, but were they so rich that their detergent smelled this heavenly? they must’ve put some sort of spell on the bedding. it was rich; a little smokey, with notes of spice that reminded you of christmas cooking. you smiled to yourself, nuzzling closer. the potters were sweet to invest in something that’d make you feel welcome in their house. you’d never felt so at home.

click! another flash. a chuckle, but deeper and decidedly male. you hummed with annoyance at the interruptions.

your pillow was moving. did the potters enchant the pillows as well?

“dove?” sirius’ raspy morning voice mumbled into your ear. the vibrations tickled your skin and sent goosebumps running down your arms.

“sirius?” you exclaimed. the ‘enchanted pillow’ was not a pillow at all, it seemed. it was your best friend longtime crush, whose body you’d been cuddling up to all night. well, shit.

“did y’get a good one?” james’ voice floated through the room.

“oi, shut up, prongs. ‘m trying to sleep,” sirius grumbled. he didn’t seem to care about the intimacy of your position. instead, he only tightened his hold on your waist and even brought his other arm to rest at the name of your neck, which allowed him to settle his chin on the crown of your head. you could hear—and feel—the steady thumping of his heart.

as you awoke, you became more aware (and more horrified) at how you’d fallen asleep. one of your legs was bent over his, and his hands were carded through the hairs at the nape of your neck.

“holy shit,” you muttered, pulling sirius’ hands off of you. “sirius, wake up. i think they’re taking pictures of us.” you looked up at james, lily, and remus. “-those little shits.”

“huh?” sirius jolted awake, his arm never leaving your waist. “what in merlin’s name-”

james snickered. “you two seem to have had a good night, eh?” he wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.

“shuddup, prongs,” sirius retorted. “get your head out of the gutter.”

“sirius
” lily ribbed, pursing her lips in amusement.

any annoyance on sirius’ face vanished and was quickly replaced by pure terror. “oh fuck,” he grimaced, before throwing the sheets off his body and running awkwardly to the bathroom while adjusting his pants.

your face heated. lily came by your side, practically in stitches, and you squeaked in shock. james went jogging after sirius, yelling suggestive comments unabashedly.

“so, what was that?” remus probed, sitting on the corner of your bed where sirius had just been laying.

“he was wearing clothes, alright? stop- don’t make this weird,” you pleaded.

“we didn’t say anything about states of undress,” lily chided, looking triumphantly at remus, who sighed.

“what’s it to you, anyway?” you pushed yourself out of bed, fussing with your hair momentarily as you tried to tame your bedhead. “‘s none of your business.”

“oh, but it is. james owes me three galleons,” lily announced. “and remus is coughing up eight sickles.”

“you bet on me?”

“well, not on you, perse,” lily backtracked. “on you and sirius’ relationship. so technically, that’s not either of you. it’s a relationship. aaaanyways, remus thought you were going to get together before summer break, i guessed during the second day of staying here, and james guessed at the end of our stay. and i was right! well, i was a couple hours off. but i still win.”

you closed your eyes, unable to process the audacity of your friends. “you lot are cheeky assholes, y’know that?”

“oh, we know. but these ‘cheeky assholes’ have blackmail now,” lily smirked.

“or, photos and a good story for your wedding,” remus piped in. lily nodded her head eagerly.

“i didn’t take you for a romantic, lupin,” you mumbled, beginning to dig through your clothes and change out of your pajamas. “what time is it, anyway?”

“nine-thirty!” lily chirped, placing emphasis on each number. “we let you two sleep in. it was cute.”

“we aren’t cute.”

“aha! so there’s a ‘we’ now!” james cheered from the doorway. sirius had returned in his normal clothes, still looking a little flustered. you averted your eyes.

“‘m gonna change. goodbye, twats.” you shuffled down the hallway. as much as you pretended to be annoyed by your meddling friends’ antics, you smiled uncontrollably as you heard them interrogate sirius next, who did a much worse job of hiding his feelings.

feelings. were there feelings? and james’ question still stood. was there a ‘we?’

“i’m starving,” james whined, clutching his stomach dramatically. “if we keep pushing off breakfast, i’m going to be too weak for quidditch season next year.”

lily rolled her eyes. “you big baby. c’mon remus, let’s leave the toddler here and make something for ourselves.” lily linked her arm through remus’ and made a big show of trotting away, with james scrambling after them desperately.

when you came to the kitchen, your friends were still fighting playfully over lily’s taunts. “i am not a big baby!” james complained.

“you’re literally throwing a fit right now!” lily laughed, shoving him with her shoulder. you laughed alongside her as you watched james stumble.

sirius, though he’d always found james’ embarrassment to be funny, didn’t laugh. he was watching you, smiling hopelessly at the way your laugh seemed to pierce his senses more sharply than the brightness of the sun, noticing the way your body shook a little from the enthusiasm of your happiness, and staring longingly at your parted lips.

remus thwaked sirius in the back of the head with the most updated copy of the daily prophet. “stop staring like a fucking idiot and do something,” he hissed. sirius found himself pushed off his chair as remus slipped in with a pencil in hand, already immersed in his crossword.

“siri, y’alright?” you giggled, noticing sirius’ unusual quietness and the odd, hazy look in his eyes.

“yeah! ‘m all good.” sirius startling slightly. “thanks, dove.”

sirius made his way beside you and again, wrapped his arm around your waist. you shivered. “are you cold?” sirius asked.

“ah- no. you’re just- you make me nervous,” you said hesitantly.

sirius’ words were slow, calculated. “in a good way or bad way?” he looked down at you and raised his eyebrows questioningly. he bent down and lowered his voice. “‘cos i’m really hoping it’s a ‘sirius black, you give me butterflies and i’m madly in love with your charisma, luscious hair, and gorgeous face,’ type’a way.”

“ugh,” you groaned, pushing against his chest playfully as your face burned. sirius only strengthened his hold on you. “you wish, black,” you sniffed, tipping your chin up at him haughtily. but then your teasing smile dropped into something intense and genuine. you opened your mouth to speak, but no words came out.

so, sirius did the speaking for you. cupping your pointed chin in a delicate hand, sirius lowered his head until his lips brushed over yours—just barely. he smilled, his breath warming the planes of your face as he held himself still.

pulling sirius closer down to you by the fabric of his shirt, you dusted your lips across his for a fleeting moment. you pulled away almost immediately, panicking at what you’d just done. sirius shook his head, amused, and pulled you in once more, pressing his lips against yours firmly and holding you there, supported and assured, until you melted comfortably into his mouth.

“siri
” you gasped, pulling away. “oh my merlin, sirius?” you called, chewing your kiss-swollen lip as you watched sirius sway hazily in his spot. he was muttering silent words.

“pads!” james hollered. “way to go, padfoot!” he slammed his hand into the back of sirius’ head.

“ow, what the fuck, mate?” sirius rubbed the spot that james had attacked.

“you dog!” lily shrieked, running around the counter to throw herself at you and wrangle you around excitedly. it seemed that your friends were more passionate about the kiss than you two were.

well, that wasn’t true. the two of you were a bit too dizzy to appreciate the excitement of it all.

from remus’ position at the stove, two eggs came magically whizzing through the air and cracked themselves on top of james and lily’s heads.

“moony! what the hell was that for?” lily sputtered.

“i just did a hair mask last night!” james complained.

remus rolled his eyes, nonchalantly waving his wand over the pan of scrambled eggs he was cooking. “leave the two of ‘em be. i’m sure you’ll have plenty of moments to see them snogging in the future.” remus turned towards the two of you, looking bashful. sirius had given you his hand to hold and you were fiddling with his fingers. he looked very pleased.

remus sighed exasperatedly, before turning back to his eggs. “now you two get out! you’re killing my appetite.”

you and sirius looked at each other, and with bright, childish giggles, you ran out of the kitchen with sirius on your heels. remus huffed grumpily, waving his wand again to scramble the eggs, but unbeknownst to his friends, he cracked a satisfied smile.

🧃 — a sirius blurb with the lyric prompt “darling, you’re so pretty it hurts.” ?

no rush/pressure,, congrats again <33

ofc hun, i hope you like it ❀

*:✧*:✧

the breeze hits you like a wave as you step outside to the courtyard. the great hall, which you just escaped, was fully decked out for an extravagant ball.

taking a seat on the steps, you play with the bottom of your gown, staring out at the black lake.

your night had gone horribly wrong. you had brought marlene and alice with you as your dates, preferring not to look for an actual one. because the one you wanted was frighteningly beautiful. the two girls had ditched you just mere minutes into the party.

marlene got sick after drinking the punch peter had spiked, and alice was whisked away by frank. sure, they didn't ditch you on purpose but you quickly found yourself feeling out of place with the waltzing couples.

'what a waste of a pretty dress', you think huffing in remorse.

"y/n?"

you glance behind you, staring up at sirius' lanky figure.

"hi, sirius."

the pretty boy with long hair has been your crush for years, but before that, your friend. so your crush remains only known to you.

he crouches down beside you, "what are you doing sulking in the moonlight? you look worse than moony after i stole his charms paper."

you smile, "i'm not sulking. just, refraining from a good mood."

he nods sarcastically, "oh but of course, excuse my ignorance," he pauses. "i'm sorry peter ruined your girl's night with marls... i would apologize for frank but the poor thing has wanted more than a minute with alice since first year."

you shrug, "it's fine. honestly it's my fault for not getting a real date. i probably should have been campaigning for a suitor this last week instead of crawling out of bed and going to all my classes looking like a gremlin."

you look up at him, prepared for a snarky agreement, but the boy looks at you in shock instead.

"a gremlin? y/n you think you look like a gremlin?" he asks.

"we might not be identical but i think we're at least distantly related." you try another joke, which again doesn't hit.

his face goes from shock to indignation, "you're mad, l/n"

you furrow your brows, "you think i look nice? is that what you're saying?"

he rolls his eyes, "beyond nice, you're a sight to behold."

"i can't tell if you're joking or not." you sigh, face hot.

sirius was always a flirt, but never this much of one.

"i'm not joking! if i would have known you wanted a real date to this i would have asked you instead of third wheeling lilly and prongs."

you smile, "i wasn't expecting a confession of adoration tonight.. but it's nice."

he leans his head close to yours, eyes bright, "just nice?"

you quirk an eyebrow up, "maybe a little bit better than nice.."

"good, because i also wasn't expecting this," he stops to give you a once over. "i also wasn't expecting you to completely take my breathe away. i expected some wild heart murmurs, sure, but you look so nice"

it's your turn to lean into him, "just nice?"

he grins, taking a hold of your face, "darling, you're so pretty it hurts."

and with that, his lips find their way to yours.

“Divination is rubbish.”

Sirius whines as he drags his feet to the class, spiteful mumbles escaping his lips with every step closer to the dreadful lesson. He loathes Divination class, to say the least. Other than the fact that the Professor always rambles about nonsense Sirius could never comprehend, sharing the hour with her irks him to the bone.

wish you were sober.

masterlist

pairing - sirius black x reader

summary - you're drunk and try to kiss sirius. he rejects you 'cause you aren't sober. then the same thing happens again, but the other way around.

trope - friends to lovers (non-magic au!), fluff

word count - 2.9k

warnings - drinking, vomiting, mentions of sex, language

you were pretty drunk, to say the least.

parties were something you would usually regret going to five minutes after arriving, yet you always managed to wind up in them. this time, the biggest one yet was being held at james potter's house. you were pretty sure he invited the whole bloody year over. good thing his parents were away for that week. he just happened to be another one of your and sirius' good mates, so you didn't even have to ask him to know whether he'll be there or not. and where sirius goes, you go too. because for one, you would become bored out of your mind without him at some point in the night, and two, he was your best friend. the best friend you definitely did not have feelings for.

so, there you were, stood on the balcony of what you assumed was one of the guest bedrooms, clutching a plastic cup filled with orange juice and a strong alcohol of some sort. you weren't even sure what was in it, it tasted like absolute shit and it made your throat sting harder than anything you'd ever drunk, but it was enough to get you wasted and that's what mattered. you were leaning maybe a tad bit too close to the railing, one simple push from behind would have you landing straight into the tussle the blokes bellow you appeared to be having.

"don't fall over." sirius warned from behind you. he came back from a quick trip to the bathroom. you scoffed, whining when he tugged at the sleeve of your (his) leather jacket to help you come inside.

you spent most of the party on the second floor, trying to stay away from the bigger crowd. you hadn't seen james for most of the party, and you could only assume what he was getting up to since lily was nowhere to be seen either. you had remus with you for a while, however. he wasn't very fond of parties, so he opted for staying upstairs with the pair of you where it was a little less rowdy for as long as he was able to. at some point in the night mary and peter came looking for him. you were surprised when he actually left you and sirius for them, and you simply could not grasp why it happened. sirius could though, he was guilty of staring at you like a lovesick idiot (that of course flew over your head because you couldn't even walk properly let alone think straight) and remus wasn't about to watch the two of you snog right next to him.

sirius was sober, much to everybody's surprise. you couldn't pinpoint why he wasn't in the mood for drinking, and why he was only on his second bottle of beer four hours into the night. in any other scenario, he'd be stumbling around the house, most likely butchering one of abba's songs despite always putting on a face whenever james and the girls wanted to listen to them. he told you it was the party that bored him.

unbeknownst to you, he decided not to drink much that night after seeing you had different plans. sirius wanted to make sure you would get home safely (after experiencing several train-wrecks trying to walk home with you while both of you were hammered). he also wanted to unsure that nobody else would try to do anything stupid to you in your drunken state. many blokes had their eyes on you, and very obvious to everybody but yourself, sirius despised all of them. he wanted them nowhere near you. he always let his jealousy get the best of him somehow, at least that's what remus liked to say. but they didn't deserve someone as good as you, he'd tell himself, nor were they worthy of your attention. sirius loved you, he really did, but of course, you were too oblivious to realise how much he truly cared for you, even when you weren't intoxicated.

"okay, mum." you rolled your eyes, resting your head on his shoulder the moment you made it to the couch. "is this your fourth one?" he looked down at the cup in your hand with furrowed eyebrows.

"sixth." you giggled, waving the cup around. he managed to catch it before it fell out of your hand and spilled everywhere, and then threw it out the open window.  "you've had enough."

"you twat, i was drinking that." you attempted to reach for your long lost drink, but failed when you felt a jolt of pain shoot through your head and you fell onto sirius' lap. you turned from your side and onto your back, and finally took note of the way he was looking at you. he seemed worried, and even your drunken self could see that. you scrunched your face up and poked at his chest, drawing a laugh from him.

your head was seriously begging to spin, partially because of the alarming amount of what you hoped was only vodka in your system, but partially because of sirius. and his stupid smile, and his stupid hair, and his stupid self that you adored with your whole being.

the alcohol in your body must have truly been messing with your brain, because you suddenly blurted out something you would never, ever, dared to have said while sober;

"i really wanna kiss you." it was almost inaudible, but sirius definitely heard it. he stiffened, sucking in a breath. he wanted more than anything in the world to kiss you, but not while you were in this state.

"y/n, no, you're drunk." sirius shook his head. you sat up with a pout on your face. he let his head fall down with sigh, and then glanced back at you only to be met with your disappointed expression.

"am i not pretty enough?" you took his hands into yours. he didn't pull them away.

"y/n, don't be silly." he massaged your knuckles with his fingers. your face didn't change, and your drunken mind couldn't make any sense of what he was saying. all you understood was the word no, and that was enough to break your heart.

"that's not an answer." you whined, leaning forward in attempt to kiss him. sirius instinctively moved away, causing you both to slide off the couch and straight onto the floor. you fell onto his chest. he huffed, gently pushing you off of himself and standing up. he took your hand and pulled you up, and you collapsed against him.

your face was pressed against his shoulder and his arms were tightly wrapped around you, preventing you from falling and holding you in place. you felt safe in his embrace.

"y/n." he said softly. you looked up at him, lips pouty and eyes glossy. "i knew it. you don't think i'm pretty enough to kiss."

"love, you're not sober enough to kiss." you furrowed your eyebrows in confusion. he laughed, helping you stand up properly. you murmured something incoherent, latching onto his arm so that you don't fall over.

"i'll kiss you when you're sober," he cupped your cheeks and smiled in attempt to reassure you. you so shook your head with a frown. that was not anything near satisfying enough for you. the emotional outburst, along with all of the vodka you consumed that was making your stomach turn, became too much to bear.

you pushed him out of the way, and made a clumsy run out onto the balcony. you caught onto the railing, leaned over it, and everything you had eaten and drank that day came back out. and again. and then again. at least it broke up the silly fight going on down there. amidst all of that, you felt one of sirius' hands patting your back, and the other holding your hair away from your face.

you turned around and stumbled back inside, groaning in pain, feeling completely and utterly humiliated. "are you alright now?" he questioned worriedly as he followed after you.

"think so." you nodded, your face beet red from the shame you were feeling. you two managed to waddle downstairs and out of the house without any additional incidents (other than almost stepping onto a sleeping emmeline on the stairs and then running into marlene and dorcas who were eating each other's faces in the hallway).

"climb onto my back." sirius kneeled down in front of you once you successfully made it out onto the pavement in front of james' house. you obliged, feeling only slightly happier seeing that he will give you a piggyback ride home. it was the easiest solution he could think of, as trying to walk you back to your house with your wobbly legs would be a lot more challenging. yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that, both of you ended up with scraped elbows and bruises on your knees.

"promise." you snuggled your face into the back of his neck, inhaling his scent. it always calmed you, it felt like home. "hm?"

"promise that you'll kiss me."

"i promise." oh how he wished you were sober.

***

about a six days later, you were at it again, at marlene's birthday party. but this time, it was sirius who had too much to drink, not you. after having the worst hangover of your life the week before, you refused to touch any type of alcohol that was offered to you and decided to keep watch of your best friend, just like he kept watch of you. you tried not to leave his side, even in the crowded living room, where the air was so thick you could barely breathe, and where you couldn't even hear yourself think because of all the noise, coming both from the attendees and the record player in the corner.

"is the room spinning for you? it's spinning for me." sirius looked up at the ceiling, a drunken laugh slipping past his lips.

"how about you sit down?" you suggested, laughing when he managed to smack himself in the face.

"nah." he brushed you off, reaching for the cup with some sort of strange cocktail that he left on the windowsill. he took a swig, and then looked at you, smiling like an idiot.

"has anyone ever told you how pretty you are?" he tilted his head to the side. you felt heat rush to your cheeks and you awkwardly squirmed in your spot. "i've heard it once or twice." you swallowed, crossing your arms and looking down at your knees in embarrassment. you cursed inwardly for feeling so affected by his compliments, he wasn't thinking straight at all.

"you should hear it every day." you bit your tongue and glanced over at him. your eyes widened in horror when he began losing his balance. you instinctively reached for his arm, pulling him by the sleeve of his jacket and making him collapse onto the couch next to you.

"ouchie." he giggled, nuzzling his face into your arm. you were as still as a statue, pupils blown wide and face burning red. you didn't have the heart to push him away, so you let him do his thing, as long as it didn't go any further than that.

"y/n." he murmured.

"hm?" you sighed, averting your eyes to pandora and a bloke you didn't know a couple of meters away from you. they looked like they were about to snog any second. you exchanged a knowing glance with regulus who just happened to be passing by the pair of you. he didn't quite stick around though, and you couldn't blame him.

"you're really beautiful." sirius murmured. you inhaled sharply, mumbling a quiet thank you.

"y/n." he said again.

"what, sirius?" you turned your head towards him this time, noticing that his face had scrunched up.

"i think i'm gonna be sick."

of course he was. you almost lost count of how many drinks he downed, so you found yourself waiting outside of the bathroom, leaning against the wall with sirius sitting on the floor next to you.

"y/n." he managed to choke out. "yes?" you groaned, looking over at the bathroom door for the nth time. you gave up on beating the shit out of it when no answer came from the other side, though you were very much annoyed by whoever was in there because why the hell were they taking so bloody long.

"you know what we said at james' party?" he mumbled, his head falling to the side and resting on your legs. yes, you do. though you pretended not to remember anything that morning last week when sirius stayed over at your house after dragging you there. he didn't bring anything up either, so you thought it was safe to assume that he believed you couldn't recall what was said and that he could get away with it.

the truth is, he really did think you forgot and didn't want to make things awkward. he had feelings for you and he never tried to lie to himself about it, but much like yourself, was a bit oblivious. he chalked the whole "kiss me" outburst of yours up to the alcohol and refused to think or talk about it.

but now, his thoughts weren't exactly the clearest. he was too drunk to control what was coming out of his mouth.

"not really. many things were said." you cleared your throat, refusing to look at him. he grunted, struggling to get up onto his feet. when he did, he fell slack against you, throwing his arms around you.

"kiss." he sniffled. you squirmed out of his hold, sighing. "what about it?"

"i said i'll kiss you when you're sober," you nodded slowly, tapping your foot on the floor nervously, "now you're sober."

you laughed, shaking your head, "yes, but you're not."

"doesn't matter." he argued, pulling you into a hug again. the bathroom door opened just as he did.

"oh, for fuck's sake crouch." you cursed as barty walked past you with a satisfied smirk and a blushing evan trailing behind him. you rolled your eyes and quickly dragged sirius inside.

"what was i saying? oh yeah, it does matter." you retorted, leading him over to the toilet bowl. you had a death grip on him, making sure he doesn't fall because that would be simply disastrous, and you could finally breathe normally once you made it there. "how?" he leaned against it, looking up at the ceiling. he just seemed so... sad.

"because you're not sober." you stated the obvious. he whined, flailing his arms around like an angry toddler. "that's not important, i said i'll do it."

"sirius, forget the promise–"

"i don't care about the promise, i just wanna kiss you." he cried and launched himself forward into your arms. you didn't push him away this time, but held him instead, running your hands through his messy hair. "how about we kiss when we're both sober?" you suggested, swallowing the lump that formed in your throat. you were certain that it would never happen, and that you'll just keep making promises you know you can't keep.

"deal. tomorrow." he pulled back, sticking out his pinkie finger.

"tomorrow?"

he nodded. "promise." you locked your pinkie with his, and whispered, "okay, promise."

he was throwing up in the toilet ten seconds later. what a way to end your night.

the morning after, you woke up early, with sirius already awake and lying next to you, wrapped up into the blankets as if he was in a cocoon. only his eyes were peeking out and he smiled when you met his gaze. he looked adorable, you swore it was the best sight you had ever woken up to.

"good morning to you too." you chuckled tiredly, sitting up and rubbing your eyes with a yawn. "how are you feeling?"

"everything hurts and i smell bad, but other than that, i'm feeling fantastic."

"wonderful." you replied sarcastically, lifting up the blankets from your body to get out of bed. sirius tugged at your wrist before you could do that.

"what?" you met his eyes, and you instantly knew what he was thinking. "why didn't you say anything last week?" your lips formed into a thin line.

"figured you said it not to hurt me," you shrugged, looking down at your fingers which were now intertwined with his, "not 'cause, you know, you actually wanted to kiss me."

"i wouldn't have said it if it wasn't what i wanted." the honesty in his voice destroyed you. you didn't even have to look at him to know that he was telling the truth. your vision became blurry, and you fell into his arms.

you held onto each other for a good minute, and then pulled apart, only to collide again, letting your lips meet. you were finally kissing him, kissing your best friend. your best friend who was finally sober.

"ew, morning breath." you pushed him away, letting your head rest on his shoulder and laughing uncontrollably. "this is the worst moment we could have picked to profess our love each other." sirius chuckled along with you.

"you're the one who decided to get all cheesy at the crack of bloody dawn." you lifted your head to look at him, and you couldn't help but smile. he looked so happy, you wanted to kiss every single inch of his face.

"i'm mental about you, you know." he said softly, wrapping his strong arms around you. you buried your face into his neck, sighing in content, "i'm mental about you too."

Hiding in a closet with Sirius to avoid being caught out after curfew — sirius x gn!reader fluff

warnings: making out/snogging but it's not graphic at all

words: 1.2k

Hiding Place | S.B.

You stood outside the potions classroom on watch while your friends tried to make a laughing potion after curfew.

Earlier in the day, Lucius Malfoy scoffed at the Marauders for joking around, so they had come up with a plan to 'help him have a little fun'. All because of Peter's plan, you were responsible for waiting in the halls at midnight and making sure you five were safe from trouble.

You glanced behind you, trying to gauge how far along the boys were with their potion, but you couldn't tell a thing. Sirius and Peter were preparing ingredients and watching as James and Remus stirred a boiling brew.

"How much longer until it's done?" You asked in a booming whisper, your eyes scared to stop watching the map.

"Is there someone coming?" Sirius called back.

"No, not yet."

"Then don't worry your pretty little head about it."

Sirius Black, always the flirt. Though you were somewhat sucked in by his charm, it didn't stop your nerves.

Remus piped up, clearly also annoyed with Sirius' constant demeanour, and assured you that they were working on the last few steps of the brew.

You fidgeted with the magical map in your hands for a few more minutes, just waiting for some professor or prefect to come and punish you. Almost on cue with your thoughts, you saw a pair of footprints on the map come closer. Two more corners they could turn down and they'd be in your hallway.

You looked back and saw the boys pouring their potion into smaller bottles. Thank Merlin they were basically done.

"Okay, it's time to wrap it up, now." You said anxiously to the Marauders. "You only need one bottle, right?"

"Well, yeah." James told you. "But we don't want to come back here, so we have to make more and save it for later."

"She means there's someone coming." Peter cleared up, sensing your anxiety building with each step you watched heading towards the potions classroom.

Sirius shoved the two vials they had already made into his pockets, ensuring they had something to prank with later.

"Come on, they're getting closer!" You whisper-shouted.

James poured out one more vial, and Remus snatched it up quickly. You watched as the footprints turned the second last corner before your hallway. Your heart was beating like a battle drum, and the boys were still pouring out the cauldron to fill one last bottle. You could see someone's shadow approaching the bend, and you were sure this was it.

"Let's go! We're done!" You told them. James put down the last  cauldron, making a loud thud against the tabletop. The sound caused you to flinch, and definitely caught the attention of the person walking down the other hall. You saw the shadow speed up, and you almost froze in place.

If it weren't for the boys running out of the classroom and pulling you with them, you would have been given detention for a month.

The figure turned the corner and saw you all running away. "Hey!" They shouted. It was a student; a Ravenclaw prefect. "What are you doing?"

You all laughed without turning around or slowing down. Remus let go of your arm once he saw you were running with them.

"Split!" Sirius ordered once you reached a fork in the path. James, Peter, and Sirius all went right, but Sirius grabbed your hand, pulling you to the left hallway with him.

You weren't sure which way the prefect went, so you were confused when Sirius stopped suddenly. He was feeling certain bricks on the wall, like he was looking for something. He looked calmly frantic, but his expression changed to one of relief when the wall opened up to make a narrow door.

How many secrets did this school have? You had never even heard of this hidden area before.

Snapping you out of your confusion slightly, Sirius urged you to go inside quickly. You did as he asked, and he followed you. The bricks closed up again, and right before they did, you saw the Ravenclaw's shadow move rapidly towards that fork in the hallway.

Once the door closed, you took in where you were. There was only a bit of light coming from cracks in the bricks, but it wouldn't take a lot to illuminate this place. It was so small, you felt like you were hiding in a wardrobe with your best friend.

Sirius lit up the tip of his wand so you could see in the dark room. With that, you realised how close you two were. Barely half a foot between you and him.

"What is this place?" You asked at a volume barely above silent.

"I don't know. I found it by accident last year. My guess is a sort of panic room where someone can go if a dragon escapes or something."

"Smart. Our school is wildly unsafe, it's really comforting to know that they have a panic room fit for one person."

He let out a small laugh. "We're two people, love."

You had to admit the nickname sent a chill down your spine, hearing it from someone just inches away from you.

"Then it's double reassuring that it can fit twice as many people. Two people safe, that's all they need." You said sarcastically.

Sirius looked at you with those lovely grey eyes. His hand came up, and he pushed a few strands of hair out of your face. "This room is good for more than just panicking."

You knew exactly what he meant. You had seen him lay this signature charm on others before you, and he had given you a toned-down version for his platonic flirting. Maybe not so platonic. Nevertheless, you kept up an act of innocence like you didn't know what he meant.

"Like what?" You asked, making eyes back at him.

"You know what." He answered.

In a second, Sirius lifted your head up by dragging a soft finger across your jawline. Then his hands were on either side of your head, and his lips were on yours.

He stayed put for a moment, trying to test the waters and make sure you were okay with it. When you brought your hands up to tangle in his dark hair, the kiss became more passionate.

He eased you back against the wall behind you, and before you knew it, you two were fully snogging in a dark closet.

You had no idea how much time had passed, but after a bit of your really nice kiss, you saw a burst of light through your closed eyelids.

Sirius pulled off of you, and you opened your eyes finally. Looking to the side, you saw the passageway was open again and your friends were staring at you both.

"I knew you'd be in here." James said, almost smugly.

"Come on, you nasty rabbits." Remus told you. "We lost the narc, now we can go upstairs."

You started to walk out the room, when Sirius took your hand in his and walked with you.

Looking up at him, his mouth was curled into a grin. "It's a nice hiding place, right?"

the butterflies in my stomach going WILD

🍓 - “say it again, pretty.” with Sirius <3

the way I got so excited when I saw this request. this was one of my fav dialogue prompts and I’m sososo glad I got to pair it with sirius. love u babe hope this is okay!!

gn!reader 0.4k words

Sirius’s mouth is diligent on your neck. His lips are parted and wet as he works his way from a spot behind your ear downwards, smothering you with hot, open mouthed kisses that have you squirming underneath him. Your whole body feels like it’s on fire, worse when his tongue swipes over your skin, followed quickly by a not-so-gentle scraping of his teeth.

You gasp, fingers curling tighter where they’re buried in his dark hair. You’re sure you’re hurting him but maybe in a good way. With the way he’s kissing you, you think you’re right about that.

“Sirius,” you breathe out, more a moan than an actual word. “Sirius, baby
”

Sirius stops abruptly. You miss his heat immediately. He pulls away, hovering over you like some sort of angel, his forearms braced on either side of your head. His chest is heaving. You think maybe almost as deeply as yours.

He’s staring at you in a way you don’t understand. Dark eyes hooded by thick lashes, his lips parted and kiss-bitten, so swollen you want to kiss them til he can’t breathe. Still, he’s not saying anything. You frown.

“What?” You ask, breathless and quiet. And then, because you can’t help yourself, “Why’d you stop?”

A grin breaks out across Sirius’s face. “Angel,” he coos, in what you think is a fond, adoring tone. “Did you just call me ‘baby’?”

You think you stop breathing. You hadn’t meant to call him that. You hadn’t even realised. And now he’s looking at you like he wants to eat you. You pull your hands from his hair and cover your burning face with them instead.

Sirius protests immediately. “Hey, don’t get all shy on me. Come back out, sweetheart.”

He shifts his weight to one arm, his body flush with yours, and with the other he pulls at your wrists until you stop resisting. It doesn’t take much. He’s strong. And you’re putty in his hands, clearly.

“Say it again, pretty,” he says, voice low and quiet. If you didn’t know any better you’d say he’s almost pleading with you. He’s got both your hands in his big one, holding them to his chest so you can’t use them to hide. “Call me that again.”

You flush all over, your body tingling, heat licking it’s way up your neck and face. The way he’s looking at you, the way he’s talking to you, you’re surprised he’s doing such a good job containing himself.

“Baby,” you say, shy and quiet and barely there.

But it’s good enough for Sirius. He grins wolfishly. “Yeah, honey?”

You pull your hands from his grip and bury them in his hair again, pushing his lovely dark locks from his face before tugging his head back down to your neck, silently telling him what you want.

He takes the hint.

cece how abooout the rest of the marauders finding out that you're with poly!wolfstar :c ??? and reader is a potter— james’ twin sister ??

thank you for requesting!đŸ–€

.

It wasn’t that you didn’t believe your friends would be happy for you, because you knew they would.

Despite the social anomaly of your relationship with both boys, you knew that nobody—at least from the group of people you care about—-would be anything but immensely happy for you. There was always a weird tension between you, Sirius and Remus and, if anything, your relationship solved what you were sure they were expecting to be a very messy love triangle.

However, the reason you had been keeping your relationship private wasn’t in fear of what they would say, it was because of your brother.

You loved James. You truly did and you would never change him for the world. Well, you wouldn’t change almost anything about him because if your brother had one flaw, it was his dramatic flare.

Everything about James Potter was bigger: his ego, his love, his emotional instability the second things changed. You know if he found out his sister was not only dating one of his best friends but both, it would only end in James blowing his top off.

So, you kept it a secret from everyone. Zero risk of anyone accidentally spilling the beans, and zero risk of your brother weaselling it out of someone.

To the world, Remus Lupin and Sirius Black were happily together. Just the two of them, totally in love and totally not hiding a secret girlfriend.

You didn’t mind all that much because you loved them, and you liked that they could at least be with each other around others. Plus, the sneaking around wasn’t all that bad—if anything, it was quite hot.

“Fuck me,” you sighed out, eyes falling shut as you felt his lips travel down the column of your neck.

“That’s the plan, sweetheart,” Sirius murmured in amusement, his hands sneaking under the hem of your sweater—well, Remus’ sweater you had nicked earlier that week.

“Do something then,” you huffed out, hands fisted in the material of his shirt that you were promoting him to pull over his head.

“So impatient,” he mused and you could feel the smug bastard’s smirk against your skin. “Relax, baby, gonna make you feel so—”

“WHAT THE FUCK?”

Your heads snapped to the sides, eyes widened when you saw your brother standing in the doorway. He looked between you and his best friend, a large range of emotions flashing in his eyes as he gaped at the sight in front of him.

“But you—and—wait, how—HOW COULD YOU BOTH DO THIS?” James spluttered out, accusatory finger pointed between you both.

“James–” you started but he quickly interrupted.

“He’s my best friend!” James exclaimed.

“Mate–” Sirius opened his mouth but didn’t get very far.

“And she’s my sister!” James continued.

“I know but—”

“OH MERLIN, WHAT ABOUT MOONY!” James gasped, his face pale as he looked at you both with a face of betrayal. “How could you both do this to him?”

Sirius frowned. “What?”

“I thought you loved him, Sirius,” James said with a shake of his head.

“I do,” Sirius said.

“How could you cheat on him with my sister?” James snapped before looking at you, almost looking like a disappointed dad. “And how could you? You knew they were together—”

“James, we can explain,” you sighed, lightly slapping Sirius’ chest as he tried to press his lips together as he pieced together just what James thought.

“This is going to break him,” James sighed sadly, shaking his head.

“Break who?”

James let out a noise of surprise, whirling around to find Remus standing right behind him, eyebrows furrowed in confusion when he noticed the flustered state of his friend. His eyes moved to the bed behind him, seeing you and Sirius sat there, both looking more amused and sheepish than anything.

“What’s going on here?” Remus asked, glancing between you two only to realise neither one of you were going to give him an answer. He then looked at James, eyebrows raised in question.

“Mate, I
look, I don’t
it’s just
” James stuttered out, brows drawn together as he tried to blurt out what he couldn’t quite believe himself either. Sirius, however, finally took pity on the boy and spoke up.

“Prongs caught me snogging his sister,” Sirius said, not bothering to hide the smirk on his face even when you jabbed him lightly in the ribs.

“Ah, I see,” Remus hummed.

James placed a hand on his shoulder, a strained expression on his face. “It’s okay to cry.”

Remus bit back his smile. “Why would I cry over my boyfriend and girlfriend snogging?”

“Because—” James paused, lips parting as he processed what Remus had just said. He blinked. And then he blinked again, yet no words came out of his mouth.

“I think you broke him, Moony,” Sirius mused with a snort.

“Well, he was gonna find out anyways,” you murmured as you stood from the bed, fixing the sweater you were wearing before lightly shoving your brother towards the door. “I’ll talk to him.”

Sirius pouted. “Boo, we were just having fun.”

You shot him a look. “Keep yourself entertained, Black.”

“I don’t need to when Moony is here,” he grinned, lying back on the bed with his hands tucked under his head.

Remus snorted. “I have an essay to write.”

“This is just cruel!”

You shook your head in amusement at your boys before you left the room, dragging James with you who still looked stunned by the whole thing. He had reached halfway down the hall before he finally snapped back to reality.

“YOU STOLE BOTH MY BEST FRIENDS FROM ME?!”

“Merlin, James, stop being so dramatic.”

Love your work btw <3

kinda changed it to sirius being with someone they never expected but i hope you enjoy it! and thank you!!đŸ–€

.

“Pads is dating her?!”

Remus and James stood in front of Peter, lips parted in shock at the rumour that just left their friend’s lips. They had been in the common room, respective textbooks sprawled around them when Peter came rushing in, eyes wide and cheeks flushed at what he had just seen.

At first, they thought their friend was taking the piss and waited for Sirius to jump out from the shadows with a grin on his face, claiming it was all a prank. But no Sirius had appeared and Peter kept talking and—fuck, they just couldn’t quite believe it.

In all honesty, it was shocking enough that Sirius had settled down with one person, let alone that he was dating you of all people.

You stood for everything they assumed their friend hated, purely because you would’ve been Walburgha Black’s number one choice to marry her eldest son off with.

You were raised with the pureblood etiquette, speaking prim and proper and not even allowing yourself to use slang as you spoke. You were a Slytherin, and proud to be so. You were crazy smart and you were the image of pureblood royalty, though the cold shoulder you usually gave people and the snarky attitude didn’t exactly make it easy for even those with a pureblood complex to approach you.

Even if for some bizarre reason their friend had fallen for you, the fact that you liked him back was shocking enough to keep both boys seated on the couch as Peter retold the story for the thirteenth time.

“I’m calling bullshit,” James said with a shake of his head. “This must be some elaborate prank he’s pulled off.”

“And what? Got her involved?” Remus asked.

“Maybe it’s someone with a polyjuice potion,” Peter supplied.

“Or maybe Pads is actually dating her,” Remus said before his nose scrunched up. “Yeah no, he’s definitely up to something.”

It took less than five seconds to work out where Sirius was with the help of the map that was quickly shoved in their pocket as all three boys began rushing towards the courtyard, so sure that whatever Peter had seen had to be false.

Because there was no fucking way that Sirius Black was—

All three boys quickly drew to a stop when they noticed you both. You were sitting on a picnic blanket, leaning back on your hands as you nodded along to something. Sirius, however, had his head propped on your lap, talking away as his hands moved animatedly to the point they could have sworn they saw your lips twitch into a smile.

“Holy shit,” James gaped at the sight.

“It could still be a prank,” Remus said, though he didn’t know how much he really believed that himself.

And just when they thought they couldn’t be shocked any further, you leaned down to press your lips against the wizard, his hand coming to grip the back of your neck as he deepened the kiss.

“Moony, are you seeing this?”

“I’m seeing this, Prongs.”

“Right, great because I think I’m gonna faint.”

What they couldn’t see was the way Sirius’s lips twisted into a grin as he continued to kiss you, his fingers expertly pulling the clip out of your hair until it cascaded around you both.

“Your friends are still staring,” you informed him, the words whispered against his lips as you began to pull back but he was quick to chase you.

“Let them stare all they want, love,” he murmured as his thumb lightly brushed over your thumping pulse. “I bet they are fucking confused.”

“Such crass language,” you hummed.

Sirius smirked. “Gonna punish me, love?”

You shook your head in amusement, pulling back fully despite the way Sirius playfully pouted in response. “You wouldn’t be able to handle my punishments, Black.”

His eyes gleamed at the challenge. “Is that so?”

“You are all bark and no bite,” you informed him and the boy was quick to scramble up, his hands darting to your sides as he crawled over your squirming body.

“I can show you just how hard I bite, love, you just gotta ask.”

today is multiverse monday! send me any au you can think of :)

--

You pant slightly as you shut the door behind you, and for Sirius's benefit, you lean back against it and heave a dramatic sigh.

"Got it," You gush, holding up the bag in your hands with a cheshire cat grin, "Your fans are intense."

"What- darling, what is that?" Sirius frowns at the record store bag in your hands, tossing his phone to the side where he'd been scrolling through twitter.

"Your new album," You gloat, pulling the shrinkwrapped vinyl out of the plastic bag, "I had to elbow a teenage boy out of the way," You admit, "But I think I deserved it more."

"Baby," Sirius laughs, a pitying sound, "I could have gotten you one. You didn't have to do that, have you forgotten I'm with the band?"

"But I wanted the real fan experience," You gush, snatching a sharpie off of the table and kneeling on the couch beside him, staring up at him with pleading eyes, "Will you sign it, Siri?"

He lets out a raucous bark of laughter, plucking the sharpie from your hands, "Sure, darling. I'll sign it for you."

He gets busy with the sharpie, scribbling this way and that, scrawling his signature along with a note. When he presents it proudly back to you, and your eyes rove over the striking black ink, 'I love you', your eyes fill with stinging tears.

"I love you too, Siri." You gush, leaning over the album to ring your arms around his neck.

"M'biggest fan," He croons, kissing your earlobe after he's murmured into it, "The songs on there were f'you, y'know?"

could i request sirius black with potter!reader where james knows about there relationship but is always dramatic about it

thank you for requesting!đŸ–€

.

“Oh Merlin, here they go again!”

“For fuck’s sake, Prongs.”

“Somebody hex my eyes!”

“Gladly.”

The bespectacled boy let out a small shriek when he felt a sharp pinch on his ear, squirming in his seat as he turned to glare at the culprit only to find his mother standing behind him, a knowing look on her face that quickly shut him up.

“Stop being dramatic, James, and let your sister be happy,” Euphemia Potter told her eldest child, though it hadn’t been the first time she had said as much and it wouldn’t be the last either. It had been a common occurrence that she would find herself scolding her eldest child over his childish behaviour.

You and James had always been close, both growing up and in the present time. Despite the age difference—though it was not much at all—your brother had always stood by your side and you likewise. When you joined him at Hogwarts, that relationship didn’t change when your friends became his friends, and his friends became your own too.

However, James Potter wasn’t expecting that it would lead to this.

It had been over four months since you announced your relationship with Sirius Black to your brother and he had yet to get over what he called ‘the biggest betrayal of the century’.

“It’s off-putting,” James said with a heavy sigh, slumping back in his seat as he pushed his food around his plate with his fork. “I’m losing my appetite, mother.”

Euphemia gave him a blank look. “You’ll survive.”

“We aren’t even doing anything,” you pointed out to your brother but he just scoffed in response.

“He’s sitting next to you!”

You raised your brows. “And?”

“He used to sit next to me! You’ve taken my spot!” James exclaimed.

“Well, technically I just switched seats,” Sirius piped up, always one to wind his best friend up as he threw his arm over the back of your chair. “So, she hasn’t taken your spot, I just changed mine.”

James narrowed his eyes. “There was a time where we were on the same side.”

“You’ll always be my number two, Potter,” Sirius assured him, whilst you rolled your eyes as your brother did moments ago since you knew exactly where this was going.

“And who’s number one?” James asked with a huff.

“My darling Euphemia, of course,” Sirius said with a massive grin on his face. “My number one Potter always and forever.”

“Hm, you just want an extra cookie,” Euphemia commented, though she seemed amused nonetheless.

Sirius leaned his head back to look at her. “Did it work?”

“We’ll see,” Euphemia smiled and pressed a kiss to the top of his head before she left the room.

James let out a scoff. “And now you’re stealing my bonus cookies too—”

“I’ll half it with you,” Sirius offered.

James paused for a moment before he grinned. “I knew you were still my best friend.”

Your gaze shifted to your boyfriend as you felt a hand lay on the top of your thigh, turning to raise your eyebrows at him as he just flashed you an innocent look.

“What?” you asked suspiciously.

“You know you’re my real number one, right?” he asked in a low voice, his head tilting down a little so his head was closer to you. “No one could replace you, doll.”

“First my mother, then my brother,” you mused, biting back your smile. “You trying to sweet me too, Black?”

“There’s a lot of things I want to do to you,” he murmured, a dark look in his eyes that sent a wave of desire and anticipation through you as his hand squeezed the fat of your thigh.

“Like what?” you asked, your voice a little breathier than you expected.

His grin was wolfish. “Well—”

“MUM, THEY ARE DOING IT AGAIN!”

also!!! sirius giving shy!you your first hickey đŸ˜”â€đŸ’« he’s so gentle at first, but once you start making noises and gasping he gets a tad bit rough. he ends up accidentally leaving a bright purple mark on your neck that doesn’t go away for days. unfortunately james and remus see it and the teasing is relentless

marked up

mal i love u this request is amazing.

summary — sirius gives you a hickey. james and remus think it’s amusing.

content — sirius black x fem!reader, hickies, shy!reader

Sirius has his face in your neck and he’s been home for a solid five minutes.

You’re in his bed and he’s on top of you. His hip over your stomach, an arm across your chest that’s curled up behind your ear to hold your face back.

“Is that,” he mumbles, smattering quick, wet kisses over your skin. He breathes in, “is that a new perfume?”

You angle your head upwards to escape his relentless mouth, face towards the ceiling. You can feel the beginnings of shy laughter bubble low in your chest.

“Yeah,” you say a little breathless, a lot distracted. “Yeah, you bought it.”

He nudges the patch of skin under your jaw. “Did I?”

He’s so close to your sweet spot you feel like you can’t breathe. Your chest stutters when he finds it and all you can do is hum what you hope sounds like a yes.

Sirius sets a cruel path across your neck, nipping and nudging. You think you have an idea on what he’s about to do. Your hands tighten in their grip where you have them in his dress shirt. He still smells like work.

He opens his mouth and the pressure is barely there. You’ve gone quiet and Sirius notices. “How was your day, lovely?”

You bite your lip. “Uh—“ This close you worry Sirius can feel the thumping of your heart under your skin. You breathe deeply to contain it and pretend he doesn’t know how nervous you are just from how warm you’ve gotten. “It was— it was okay.”

“Yeah?”

You don’t continue. His lips part and you shiver instead. He’s slow and gentle at first, though you suspect it’s only the beginning. The pressure builds and your neck feels warm.

“Sirius,” you gasp. He grunts into your neck.

His teeth graze your skin and your hands reach up to tug at his hair as rough as you can allow yourself to. You think how at the beginning of your relationship you would’ve had a flustered fit if you had your boyfriend this close to your neck. Now you’re pulling him closer.

He bites down gently and you get a little gaspy. Pawing at the soft material at his shirt. Sirius would continue if he had it in him. If he hears your little whimpers any longer he might implode. He grunts a pleased laugh and pulls back with a wet smack.

He leans on his elbow, bringing a hand up to your neck. Pressing his thumb into the damp spot, he coos.

“Pretty,” he says absentmindedly.

Your hands fly to your neck. “Is that gonna leave a spot?”

Sirius chuckles, smoothing over the bullied skin gently, “Yeah, lovely.”

You cover your warming face with your hands and nudge his leg with a socked foot. “Sirius,” you whine, “really?”

He leans down to pry your hands away, you let him, not too willingly you might add, when he puckers his lips for a kiss. “Yes, really,” he grins. “It’ll look good.”

“Everyone’ll see it.”

“That’s the whole point!” he snorts. You can’t look him in the face.

“Remus is gonna have a field day.”

-

Remus does have a field day. So does James.

“Y/N, lovely,” James gasps when they find you on Sirius’ couch later that night.

“James
” you murmur, confused.

“What is that?”

He points at your neck and you feign obliviousness. “What?”

“On your neck
” Remus supplies. Smarmy.

“Boys
.” You hear Sirius warn. A low grumble from the kitchen.

“Oh, um—” You hide your warming face behind a cushion.

“You’ve been mauled!” James says when he gets closer.

“Should we call someone?” Remus adds. Both their eyes glisten with mirth as they eye each other over the sofa. You’d whack them both if you hadn’t sunk into the couch.

“Ambulance?” James gawks, “The police? Was it Sirius?”

Remus goes to poke it. You swat his hand away with a confidence you barely have. “Stop it! Leave me alone or I’ll kick you both out.”

James snorts as he throws himself into the seat next to you. “You get marked up once and you think you can throw us out of our best mate’s flat!”

Remus looks amused as he sits down as well. “Marked up? She’s been attacked.” You roll your eyes. The mark is tiny. Barely there. You’re surprised they can even see it under the lack of lighting in Sirius’s flat.

“Aw, do you want one too, Prongs?” Sirius teases, making grabby hands at James.

He stands from his seat. “Don’t touch me!”

“C’mere,” Sirius laughs.

“No!”

Sirius chases a roaring James around the house while you and Remus sit back and hold back bouts of laughter. You forget about the hickey almost immediately.

That is until later that night in bed with Sirius when he murmurs how you’re all his until he falls asleep.

would you ever consider writing poly!marauders? or even more of the luna reader with platonic (or romantic) marauders?

if u have more poly!m requests please send them (to clarify this is romantic) fem!reader tw cut

"You should be more careful," Remus says, "really, dove."

You lean back against the kitchen counter and try not to wince as he finishes with the dressing on your arm.

"I am careful," you say.

He laughs softly. It's a rare sound, kind that has you smiling immediately. You wrap your arms around his neck, careful not to press down on your injury, and kiss his neck quickly.

"Thanks for fixing me, handsome," you say.

Remus pats your back. "That's never something you have to thank me for
 You might like me less when the boys come home."

You pull away. "You texted them?" you ask, already resigned to your fate.

He looks gorgeous even when you're mad at him, pale skinned but dark in his way, dark eyes and dark brows and his amazingly handsome nose that makes you wanna lean over and kiss him.

"Afraid so." Remus squeezes a path up your arm to your shoulder. "You know the lashing they'd give me if I didn't."

"Well," you murmur, "I suppose you did patch me up."

He kissed your forehead as the sound of the front door opening echoes down the hall. "That's the spirit."

"Angel?"

You relax. It's James, which means you aren't in for a loving telling off, just a loving. You stay by Remus' side until James is in view, a shock of green rugby uniform stark against brown skin. He sheds his bag and you practically throw yourself into his open arms, 'cause usually that's exactly what he wants.

"Wait wait wait!" he says, holding out his hand, his wrist brace scratchy against your arm. "Don't hurt yourself worse! What happened?"

You fight him, trying to hug him and laughing when he holds you back like you're nothing. He's strong. "James, come on. I cut it on the garden fence."

He makes a sound like he feels super sorry for you and finally lets you hug him, your face in his solid chest, your hands at the small of his back. You settle in for as long as you want, James and you both suckers for a good hug, and sigh as his cheek kisses the top of your head.

"You okay, Moons? You look tired." James voice rumbles through your hear, low and warm.

"Fine. She just shocked me, running in the house with blood dripping down to her elbow."

"Give us a hug."

"I'll make tea."

James turns his lips to your forehead, "How come he'll hug me when we're alone, and he'll hug you all day long when you're together, but he's totally allergic to affection when we're together?"

"He's shy," you mumble, "ask him again in an hour and he'll say yes."

The door opens a second time and you'd hide your face pretty much in James' armpit, laughing through the horror. "Hide me."

"No, I don't think so."

James works your face away from his chest, hands held over the soft slopes of your shoulders. He looks you in the eye, all melty brown and sweetness. "Sure you're okay?" he asks.

You hum. He kisses your cheek.

"Okay, I'm gonna go harass Remus for a hug then, before he boils the kettle and threatens me with a scalding. Love you."

"I don't love you, you're leaving me for the wolves."

"I'm hardly a wolf," comes Sirius' amused drawl.

James raises his eyebrows at you in a silent gesture for Good luck, angel, and disappears around the corner to the kitchen.

You sigh and spin on your heel, finding your arch nemesis (concerned boyfriend) propped against the wall. He's in casual work attire, which for Sirius is a smart pair of trousers and a dark button down with the sleeves rolled up. His tan seems to have waned in the winter, leaving him pale. Though he often claims in a joking manner that it's a consequence of loving you, he's always so worried it steals the colour from his skin.

I like to worry, he'd assured you once.

"You might not believe me, but you look very handsome today," you say.

He raises a dark brow. "You say that every day."

"Emphasis on 'very,'" you say.

He pulls his weight off of the wall and holds out his hand as he approaches. You let him take your arm, let him assess the small dressing bandage Remus has applied over your cut.

"It was deep," you admit, "but not very long."

"Mm, Remus said," Sirius says, near murmuring as his thumb works into your wrist. He rubs over unbroken skin gently. "Does it hurt?"

You shake your head vehemently.

"Swear?"

"Why would I lie?" you ask. You smile at him. "You really do look handsome. And you didn't need to come home from work."

"It's my lunch break."

"Oh, good! Let me make you something, while everybody's home."

"Or I can make you something," he suggests.

You enter into a stare off. He faces you with little expression, a blank slate. A pretty blank slate. His lashes don't so much as flicker, while you struggle to keep a straight face under so much seriousness. Your lips twitch with a laugh and something about it must break him, because he takes your face into his two hands and presses your noses together.

"You make it very hard to be sensible about things," he says, and gives you a chaste kiss.

His lips are a warmth you savour, and he steals them back much too swiftly for your liking.

"Remus is the sensible one," you deny. "You're the overprotective one. And James is
 James." You sigh, lovelorn. "And I'm the stupid one who cuts herself on chicken wire. You really didn't have to come home."

"I wanted to."

He leads you by the hand into the kitchen, where James and Remus stand in front of an unboiled kettle, Remus face smushed into James broad shoulder, a muscled arm locking him into place. He looks quite happy.

"Sorry, I'm still making tea," he says into James' sleeve.

"No, I'm gonna make dinner," you say, yanking Sirius to the lovefest.

You worm under James' other arm and Sirius strokes at the hair curling over Remus' forehead, mumbling, "Oh, god, she's killed you."

"Worse ways to go," Remus says.

cake — send me in a character and a prompt and i’ll write you a blurb!

sirius black + showering together for the first time? maybe?? you’re definitely super shy and he softens you up with compliments and washes your hair (and he lets you was his)

suds

summary you and sirius have your first shower togehter

content sirius black x fem!reader

note mal ur so real for this

You stand behind the curtain to Sirius's shower, still in your underwear. He waits on the other side, warming up the water for you. He'd been fine with being the first to get undressed and you really appreciate him for it.

You've been naked around each other enough times for you not to be as nervous as you'd been the first time. You've never showered with him and you're thankful you're doing it before you take it further eventually.

"You coming, baby?" he asks gently, just loud enough so he's heard over the splash of water.

You blink, eyes heavy, head even worse. Despite the nerves, you really want to get under the warm water. You take off your bra and step out of your undies and feel a little better seeing yours piled up next to his boxers. Yours blue next to his grey. It's strangely calming.

You nudge the curtain with your shoulder, hands too busy crossed over your chest, folded in on yourself when Sirius opens it up to let you in.

"Darling," Sirius says, more than elated to see you. He keeps it hidden, voice soft and gentle. He can't hide it entirely too well with his little smile and sparkling eyes. "C'mere," he says, arms open and glittery, "you'll get all cold."

Sirius ushers you under the stream and not once has he stopped looking at your face. It relaxes you more than it should and you feel almost bad about it. Sirius is allowed to look at you, you like it when he does because he always looks like he's about to crumble. You don't make it easier with your hands tucked under your armpits, but you think Sirius knows you'd rather him not look down. He knows how to pace things.

Sirius is the most patient person you know and you love him for it.

"Sorry, I took so long," you say despite yourself. You share the stream with him, almost chest to chest. Your arm nudges his chest and you almost want to apologise but you can hear his response already.

“Don’t worry about it,” he says as he touches your shoulder. His fingers drip water in places that are still half dry and you shiver. He touches you as soft as you'd expect, maybe worse. Gentle fingers against gooseflesh skin.

There's a silence. Only running water and your breathing. Sirius's feet as they squeak against the tile below the both of you when he moves. You stay still and really don't know what to say. How much does someone's shower routine change when you have to reach around the other person's hip to grab your soap? Should you ask him to move?

"Sirius," you say. You're so close you wouldn't be surprised if he felt it against his dewy cheek. "I'm so nervous."

His bottom lips juts out and despite yourself, you want to kiss it. All slippery, kind kisses that feel warmer than the water. "It's okay. You're okay."

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't be," you apologise.

"It's just me, yeah?" he says. You watch the water that sprays on his shoulder as it pushes his hair down and into his collarbone. He's so pretty and you're entirely silly.

You reach out to touch him and are hesitant with it. Your hand stops before you reach him.

"You can touch me lovely." You hate that he knows what you're thinking, and you hate yourself more for thinking it in the first place. You're not assuming, you shouldn't be, Sirius has his own boundaries. But, he's your boyfriend - you can touch him. Especially in the shower. It leaves no room for modesty.

"Yeah," you say, a little breathless, a lot giddy.

You reach out and trace his tattoos. Down the stem of a pretty, inky flower - the points of a group of stars. Sirius grabs you by the hips as you do so and it startles you how much you like it. How much you want him to pull you closer.

He tucks his head down to watch you with the prettiest smile he's ever given you. He's enraptured. It melts his silly little heart to watch himself make you so calm.

"Can I wash your hair, baby?" he asks, selfishly he might add.

You look back at him, embarrassed at your glossed-over eyes and the nibbled lip you'd tucked between your teeth. "Would you want to do that?"

Sirius seems like he's been burned. His eyes widen and he squeezes you harder by the hips. "Of course, I would," he laughs.

You reach up and hold him by the cheeks. Water rushes down your hands and your elbows into heavier streams that point towards your thighs. "Can I wash yours first?" you ask and push it behind his ears in soaked strands.

"Yeah?" he says, more excited than you're expecting.

You stare into his eyes, soft blue until it bleeds out into a sparkling grey that makes you feel weak. His heavy eyelashes that clump up under the water that drips from his hair. "Yeah," you smile.

He grins back, much worse than yours, and reaches down for your shampoo to hand to you. "Be gentle, yeah?"

You roll your eyes and squeeze a bunch into your open palm. He stares at you as you work it through his hair and you squirm under his gaze. You know he's aware of his effect on you. He smiles and has to bite it back. You stare at his scalp and pretend you're too busy to look him in the eye.

"Stop staring at me," you say, shy laughter hot in your throat.

He leans his cheek on your arm where you've got it next to his head. "I don't think I will," he smiles, the chub of his cheek slips against your skin as he goes.

"Stop," you say and don't mean It

"No," he says seriously. "No, I'll only stop when you stop being so fucking gorgeous."

"Sirius."

"Really," he laughs now.

"No."

"You're fucking amazing." He's so genuine about it, you wish you weren't trapped in your tiny studio apartment shower.

"Tilt your head back," you say instead of what you want to. Something like Sirius, if you don't stop I'm going to pass out right here in the shower.

"Beautiful."

You tilt his head under the water before he can wax poetic any longer. He laughs and his mouth fills with water. He splutters and scrunches his eyes shut, face bright with boyish glee. You think he might spit it out at you but he lets it dribble out and down his chin - much to your delight. It's daunting how pretty he looks as he does it. Suddy face and hair in his eyes.

"All right," he says, pushing his hair from his face. "Turn around, it's my go."

"Be gentle, please, Sirius," you say, and tilt your head up.

Sirius groans from the back of his throat. "God, honey, when you say it like that, I'd be an ass not to, huh?"

what’s this in my stomach making me giggly and kicking my feet

THE DARK NIGHT — sirius black + "don't forget to kiss me" from glue song by beabadoobee ty hehe

omg yes I freaking love that song

fem!reader 1k words

You’re up early for work, as always. Sirius, the lucky bastard, gets to sleep in. You mourn his warmth as you get ready in the ensuite, peeking through the half-open door to see him fast asleep in bed, bare arm stretched out over your empty side and his hair all fanned out over his pillow. He looks unfairly pretty when he sleeps.

It makes you want to cry. And to ditch your makeup and get back in bed with your boyfriend. You sigh and turn back to the mirror. You manage to get through your makeup and your hair before you allow yourself to look at Sirius again. Only, he’s not in bed anymore. He’s standing in the doorway, watching you in nothing but his boxers.

“Sirius,” you gasp, half-shocked to death. “Jeez. How long have you been standing there?”

Sirius mumbles something unintelligible. His eyes are still plagued by sleep, lips pulled into a tired frown. He is very clearly not a morning person. It’s amusing, and very cute.

He shuffles into the bathroom and across the tiles until he’s right in front of you. His bare chest staring you in the face. His tattoos stark against his pale skin. He smells like sleep. Like the laundry detergent you’d used on the sheets yesterday and his conditioner that you both share. It immediately makes you want to fall asleep against his chest in the middle of the bathroom.

“Go back to bed,” you tell him softly. You touch your hand to his abdomen, spread your fingers over his ribcage. You swear he shivers under your touch. “You’re tired.”

Sirius doesn’t say anything, only gets his arms around you in maybe the warmest, softest hug he’s ever given you. One arm circling around your back to hold your waist, the other bent over the top of your back to cup your head in his hand.

You melt.

“Sirius,” you say weakly, speaking into his chest. It’s hard to talk when he’s so close. When it’s just you and him, in the dark, quiet hours of the early morning, and he’s giving up his precious sleep to hug you instead.

“Y/N,” he says back, in the same sort of tone, the first intelligible word he’s said this morning. His hand strokes the back of your head all slow and soft. “C’mon, just let me hug you. I miss you.”

His words stick together like taffy, seep into your heart and make your chest ache. “Miss me?” You ask softly, though you think you know what he means. “I’m right here, baby.”

Sirius holds you tighter. So tight you’re sure your fresh skin products are rubbing away on his chest. You can’t bring yourself to care.

“I mean I miss you in bed,” he says moodily. He presses his lips to your hair and speaks into it, “Don’t want you to leave.”

Fondness for him bruises your heart. Makes your body ache all over. You make a pitying noise without really meaning to.

“I don’t want me to leave, either,” you say into his chest. You pull away slightly and press your lips to his chest, kiss kiss kiss over his sternum before lifting your chin so you can look at him.

He gazes back down at you, pretty in his sleepiness, the lovesick look on his face mirroring exactly how you feel.

“Then don’t,” he says.

You sigh. It’s affectionate in its annoyance. You’re annoyed because he’s so lovely and he’s really extremely persuasive even when he’s not trying.

“I can’t,” you say. You kiss his chest one more time and then pull away from him before you get stuck in his arms all day. Scoop up your things, slide past him back into the bedroom to get your bag.

Sirius watches you silently. He drags his feet back to bed when he realises you’re not planning on staying, however persuasive he is. You shrug on your jacket and slip on your shoes, pack your bag and grab your purse. By the time you’re done you think Sirius has gone back to sleep. You try to leave the room very quietly so as not to wake him again, but his voice calls you back.

“Y/N, darling?” His voice is raspy as ever, with him straining to talk loud enough for you to hear him. It honestly makes you a bit dizzy, the roughness in it. “You forgot something.”

You wheel around. “What? I’ve got everything, I think.” You instinctively check your purse for your phone, your wallet, your keys. They’re all there.

The blanket-covered lump that is Sirius rolls over onto his back. He lifts his head very slightly off the pillow so he can squint at you in the dark.

“You forgot to kiss me goodbye,” he says, as if it’s obvious.

You huff but stride across the room anyway, lean over his side of the bed and plant one hand on the side of his waist furthest away from you.

“It’s ‘cos I thought you were asleep, that’s why,” you explain, hovering over his chest.

He grins up at you, eyes half closed. Looking so lovely and sleepy and warm that you almost cave and fall right back to bed with him.

“Excuses,” he says lightly.

You roll your eyes and lean in to kiss him. It’s meant to be a chaste kiss, a quick one so you can leave before you’re late for work. But Sirius is quick to shoot his hand up and hold your jaw in place while he kisses you deep and slow, his lips hot and languid. He even manages to sneak a bit of tongue in there, even this early in the day. His thumb drags over your cheekbone and you think if he keeps kissing you like this, you’re never gonna leave.

You think that’s exactly what he wants. You pull away before you can give in to his antics.

“Sirius,” you say, breathless, lips swollen.

Sirius falls back onto the pillows, grinning like mad. His hand finds your hand across the sheets and squeezes.

“Bye, sweetheart. Have a good day, yeah?”

You escape before he can make you late for work. It wouldn’t be the first time.
