You looked around the venue, taking it all in. The school really outdid themselves this time, having invested in proper equipment to make the showcase of the year. You remember Felix always complained that there should be more funds put in the dance department. Your palms sweating the second your thoughts went to Felix. You don’t understand why you let Minho drag you here, but now you’ve arrived and there was no going back as you saw Chan and Jeongin waving you over. You quickly made your way through the crowd to the front row seats and sat down beside Jeongin.
“Hey, how are you holding up?” Jeongin asked, laying a hand on your shoulder.
“Well, I’m here so I guess I’m fine,” you took a deep breath to calm your beating heart, feeling the anxiety rise again.
“I’m just very anxious to see him again.”
Jeongin nodded and leaned over to give you a side hug. You felt yourself relax in his arms for a little bit – before the rest of the boys came along and soon the lights were dimmed and the performance began. You had been to a couple of these performances before, and each time you were just as mesmerized by Minho, Hyunjin and Felix. Especially Felix. Sometimes you couldn’t believe that you had such talented friends, and it hit you at full force at times like this.
Felix’s whole class was to perform either solo, in duets or like in their case – a trio. You barely even registered the performers, until it was announced that they were next.
You sucked in a breath as they came on stage. You would never get tired of seeing Felix in his element, the focus in his sparkly eyes, his whole body oozing of confidence and dominance. And when the music started, it was all over for you.
You were hypnotized by the way Felix moved his body to the music, which you now recognized as the song they recorded together, Taste. It was sensual and powerful, and you were hooked from the second he started dancing. Unfortunately it was over way too soon and before you could react Jeongin and Changbin were dragging you next to the stage where there was a door with the sign Performers Only. You got to stand in front of the door for approximately 10 seconds before Minho and Hyunjin stormed through the door with Felix hot on their heels. The second you locked eyes with him, it seemed like the whole world stopped.
Felix halted his steps and his eyes widened. He didn’t think you would actually come, and now that you were standing in front of him – he almost wanted to cry.
Fights weren’t usual with you two, and the fact that you haven’t spoken in what seemed like so long made him more emotional than regular. He blinked away the moisture in his eyes to get a proper look at you. You looked beautiful, as always.
“So, we will leave you guys alone so you can talk. But you must hurry.” Said Minho and began ushering the others away so you and Felix would be left alone.
Felix took a step towards you, unsure if you would bolt the other way if he got too close – but you took a step towards him and soon you stood no more than arm’s length from each other. He opened his mouth to speak, but before he can get a single word out, he is interrupted by someone on stage tapping on a microphone.
“Hi, I’m sorry but is this on?” The voice sounded kind of familiar, and you whipped your head to the side, only to see Jisoo standing on the stage. Your gasped, and it’s like she knew exactly where you were beforehand, for she cast a quick glance at you and smiled sweetly.
“As you can see, I’m not here for a performance exactly. I am here for some good, old revenge. I’m sure everyone here has heard about the Mixtapes account on Twitter?”
People began murmuring amongst each other, and you froze in place. Somewhere in the crowd you could almost hear Minho yell at Jisoo to get the fuck down, but everything except her voice at that moment went unnoticed by you.
“Yes, I know I lied about it, but it’s really not my problem the person behind it is a coward! In fact, the coward is here with us today!” She gestured at the crowd, and you could still not get yourself to move. Beside you, Felix was confused by the whole situation. What was Jisoo trying to do exactly?
Minho got his attention; he was trying to get Jisoo to get down from the stage before she said anything else. He was joined by Hyunjin who begged her to get down.
“Come on, Jisoo! What do you gain by doing this?!” he yelled over the whispers in the venue.
“Sorry guys, but she had this coming for a while now. But to prove what I’m saying is true, you must hear something first.” She turned around and went over to the large speakers on stage, and plugged her phone in. Only seconds later you heard you own voice echo through the hall.
“Min, I’m serious!”
“I know! I’m just telling you what I think would be best, it’s not my fault that you’re too dumb to listen to me.”
“I swear to God, Min, I will kill you one day.”
“Shut up, you won’t. Or else you wouldn’t have told me the account was yours to begin with.”
“Ugh, I hate that you’re right.”
“So you’ll tell Felix then?”
“God, no! I already told you what is going to happen if I tell him I love him.”
“Oh no, that would be just the end of the world, right?”
“Minho…”
“And there you have it people, “ Jisoo unplugged her phone and made her way to the side of the stage exactly where you and Felix were standing. She locked eyes with you while continuing her verbal assault.
“Poor Y/n crushing so hard on her very own best friend that she has to make anonymous confessions online. I mean, I get why she’s afraid, why would someone like Lee Felix settle for her?” Luckily before Jisoo could say another word, Changbin tore through the security and jumped on stage to rip the microphone from her hands.
After that everything was a blur, Felix’s shocked face, Minho and Hyunjin yelling after you when you ran straight through the nearest exit all while you felt everyone’s stares and their judgemental looks. Now you’ve fucked up for sure, Felix would surely never forgive you for this. Neither would you, though. After all, you are the one who got yourself into this whole mess.

A/N: Omg it's over guys :( I'm kinda sad to let this fic go, but I'm also ready to work on some new stuff for u guys to enjoy, and for all of you wondering; Minho won the poll! Give me a few days so plan out my story and I will be back soon. Special thanks to @svtbabies for motivating me and being the best hype person for me <3 ILY BESTIE! Also special thanks to @firnze for always leaving the most hilarious comments and reblogs for me to read, they were always the highlight of my day! "You know, you're just making yourself more trouble by brushing them off."
Your eyes grow wide. Whipping your head around, you see Minho standing just behind you looking over your shoulder. You scoff and turn back towards the kitchen counter where you tossed your phone to after the sudden appearance of your new roommate.
"And you know that reading people's texts over their shoulder is an invasion of privacy, right?"
Minho only gives you a small smirk before walking towards your couch. He reaches for the TV remote as he sits, turning it on and scrolls through a list of romcoms on Netflix. That's something you and he discovered a couple days ago, finding out that he can touch and hold things if he concentrates enough.
You've only known the guy for a couple of days and he has already made himself well acquainted with you and your living conditions. Personal space doesn't seem to exists now with him around, but somehow, you don't mind much. At least he's considerate enough not to go into your bedroom while you're changing. Or into the bathroom when you're in there.
"Don't you have your own friends to loom over?" you ask with a huff of laughter as you join him on the opposite side of the couch.
Minho's eyes flit over to you for a moment before returning his gaze to the screen. If you hadn't been looking, you would have missed the way his eyes seemed to dim at the mention of his friends.
Since making his appearance, he hasn't said one thing about what happened to him. Only telling you the most important thing, his name. It's been a topic that you have to actively avoid mentioning in case it's a really sensitive subject. Does he even know what happened? Has he gone to see how his family is doing?
You shake your head as discreetly as possible to focus back on the present. Minho's lips have turned up into an—almost—sad smile as he continues to find the perfect movie.
"Yeah, but I'm already having more fun bothering you."
"Whatever. Found a movie yet?"
He hums, clicking on one you know you've seen a handful of times. Though, before the movie can really begin, a knock on your front door rings out through the apartment.
"Are you expecting anyone?" Minho asks.
"No." You frown slightly. "Although I wouldn't be surprised if it's any of my friends. They like to show up whenever they please."
Minho pauses the movie as you stand up from the couch. You watch as he quickly makes his way out of the living room, not sure where he ends up as you turn your focus to the door.
The moment you swing open the door, a hand holding an obscured object is shoved towards you. Your eyes widen at the sudden movement, taking a step back, and clutching the doorknob until your knuckles turn white. Your breath catches in your throat.
"Oop, sorry."
You glance up to where the voice comes from. A man—looks to be around the same age as you, you determine—offers you a sheepish smile accompanied with a quiet titter. You take the split second of slight embarrasement he unintentionally allows himself to wallow in to look down at the object in his hand. Instead of the weapon you originally thought it was, it is a small simple gift basket, tied with a red bow.
"Oh, wait!" he gasps. "You're Jisung's friend, yeah?"
Your eyebrows furrow. How did this stranger know that? Who even is this guy?
"I've seen you 'round campus with him here and there. He's my music partner."
"And you are?"
You're words come out a lot more aggressive than you thought. Though, the guy doesn't seem bothered by the fact. Rather, his smile grows into a warm grin, teeth and cute dimples on display.
"Chan! I'm Chan, or Chris. A lot of my friend call me Chis. You might also know me by CB97 for mu music."
"Ah!" You snap. "Yeah, Ji talks a lot about you. You're friends with that guy who died, right? The dancer?"
A flash of sadness crosses his face at the mention of his friend. But it's gone before you can even blink.
"Yeah. That's actually why I'm here. This was his apartment before you moved in. I'm looking for something he borrowed from me and it might've been left behind. Would you mind letting me in to look for it?"
If it were any other random guy, you'd be much more hesitant to let him in. But since he knows your best friend, and if the kind smile on his face tells you anything about his character, you are more than happy to help him out.
"Yeah!" You step back to open the door a little wider, smiling in return. "Come on in!"
It takes a moment for his words to sink in. His friend lived in this apartment before you. Wasn't Minho the one who lived here previously? Or at least according to the way he spoke when you first encountered him made it seem so. It's possible that he could have been here a lot longer and he didn't know himself.
As he steps into your home, his eyes flutter around the room. You watch as he hums, taking note of all the differences between your decorating and his friend's.
"I'm not sure where his stuff might be, so feel free to look anywhere," you say as he shuffles through your living room. "Would you like a drink or something to eat?"
Chan offers you a small smile.
"You don't need to do that. I'll be out of your hair as soon as possible."
You shake your head, making your way to the kitchen area. Minho wouldn't mind the wait, right?
"I don't mind! A friend of a friend is a friend of mine. You're my guest, and I want to make you welcome! Plus, Jisung would probably nag me for not treating his hyung properly," you laugh.
"Oh," he chuckles, too. "Well, thank you. Is it alright if I check the bedroom as well? It's possible that it could have been missed in the closet or something."
"Yeah, go right ahead. My home is open for you to find your friend's things. I know I would want to find everything if I were in your position."
Chan gives you a smile before walking through your living room, slowly making his way through your apartment. You open up your fridge once you figure he poses no threat to you to find something to offer him. Since moving in, you haven't has the chance to really go grocery shopping, only stopping by the convenience store on your way home from classes for the necessary things.
A buzz in your pocket takes your focus from your mostly empty fridge. You fish out your phone, figuring it might be one of the boys trying to get you to do something with them. You know you shouldn't avoid them, like Minho was saying, but how would you explain the sudden addition in your life? Now that you've brushed them off more in a week than what you've done since starting college, you're sure that they'd all ask you neverending questions until you spill the secret.
You press the power button to look at the message. You stare at the notification in confusion. It's definitely not one of the boys, unless they're trying to pull a prank on you. Unlocking your phone, your fingers quickly press to open your messages.
You look up to find Chan heading straight towards your bedroom. Perfect timing, you think before clearing your throat.
"Wait!"
Chan turns to look at you in surprise. Your sudden outburst was quite loud. You wouldn't be surprised if your neighbors heard you. Your walls are thicker than what you thought they'd be, but you still are blessed with the unholy sounds of your neighbor's actions every couple nights.
"I just remembered that it's a mess in there." You make your way to your door, pressing your back against it to block his path. You give him a sheepish smile. "Give me a moment."
As quickly as possible, you throw open your door wide enough to sneak inside. You find Minho sitting on your bed, a small frown falling on his face.
"What are you doing in here?" you whisper harshly.
"This was the easiest place to go. How was I supposed to know that you'd let a stranger waltz right in here willingly?"
"That doesn't matter right now," you mutter. "You need to hide somewhere."
Minho looks at you like your crazy when you point to under your bed. You don't pay attention to his nagging as he reluctantly agrees, finding it a better place to hide than your closet—somewhere you both know Chan would look. When you determine that Minho is hidden as much as possible, you reach out for the doorknob and twist it.
Chan is sat on your couch, scrolling through his phone. He glances up at the sound of your sqeaky door. You motion for him to come back over before moving to stand at the side of your bed to try to obscure the view of Minho as much as possible.
"You haven't happened to see any stray boxes when you moved in, yeah?" Chan asks as he turns towards your closet.
"No." You shake your head even though he isn't looking at you. "The entire place was cleaned out. Well, except for a few wall decorations."
Chan hums. Once he's satisfied with you answer and seeing for himself that there is nothing but your own things tucked away in your closet, he turns to face you.
"I appreciate your help." He smiles sadly. "I should probably get going."
"Of course! Anything to help out," you reply.
You walk him back to your front door. He slips on his shoes and reaches out to the doorknob. Chan hesitates before turning to face you once again.
"Hey, if you somehow find something of his, could you let me know? There's a couple things that I'm really looking for and Minho's parents haven't seen them."
Minho. So the two do have a connection.
"For sure. I'll let Jisung know if I do."
The smile that you give Chan relaxes his shoulders a bit. You can tell he's still holding onto the hope of having the missing pieces of his friend with him. And you'll do anything to make sure that he—and Minho's other friends—get the closure they need.
Chan, with one final raise of the corners of his lips, twists the doorknob, opens the door, and steps back out into the hallway of your apartment building. He lifts his hand to wave as he takes his leave. You gently close the door behind him.
"So, back to movie night?"
Minho's voice startles you. You turn back around to see a shit eating grin on his face as he tilts his head towards the TV, eager to get back to where you left off.
"Actually..." Minho's smile falls ever so slightly at your words. "You have some explaining to do."
Summary: After moving into a new apartment, y/n learns that she got more than she bargained for.

synopsis: you lost all hope in true love when your last relationship went south. since then you poured all your love and energy into the one thing you could rely on: streaming. but what happens when you meet someone that makes you want to love again?
