Ok listen to me. I get it, trust me I get not liking the destiel ship, there is quite a bit of fetishization within the people who ship it which is disgusting. The fetishization is truly and utterly disgusting, so is attacking the actors.
But please, please stop hating on eachother. People who ship destiel, calling anti’s various slurs and attacking them on your blog is no better than them calling you various slurs and attacking you on their blog.
People who don’t ship destiel, please stop leaving hate comments on people who do ship it posts and calling them various slurs.
It makes everyone involved feel awful and no side gains anything from it. I hear a lot of anti-destiel shippers saying that the destiel shippers are just throwing a hissy fit and too sit down and accept the fact that the show is over.
I hear a lot of destiel shippers saying that they have every right to be upset and angry about the finale, and saying the exact same thing that the antis say. None of us are gaining anything by being dicks to other people so stop it.
I also hear a lot of people calling the other side “children” well guess-fucking-what some of us are children.
Also why the hell is there even “sides” we all are watching the same show, why can’t we just be godamn nice to eachother.
AND DEATH THREATS??? Seriously what the hell.
And before y’all come at me, i’m not defending fetishization please keep calling that out- it’s gross.
I mean to each his own and I doubt this post is going to do anything but for the love of the gods can we have more compassion for eachother?

Season 9, Episode 18. Title: Meta-fiction.
At the beginning of this episode we see Metatron...or gods scribe, sitting at a desk, writing a story. The camera than cuts to Dean Winchester, the Mark of Cain on his left arm.
Throughout this episode it is fairly clear that Metatron is the one writing, we can see that in Castiel’s ripped coat and the illusion of Gabriel we can also see it in Metatron being able to blow out holy fire and remove protective sigils. Also in the usual supernatural title scene, being Metatron.
This episode than concludes with Metatron typing the words to be continued...
We also know that Chuck (God) was writing a significant portion of the boys journey, up until the last episode of season 5, titled swan song, which was supposed to be the original ending for the show itself but that’s the problem with first drafts...
Chuck resurfaces in season 11, which coincidentally is the same season that Metatron dies. You know what also happens in season 11? The character arcs get better, not that they weren’t already very good, they just got better.
Both Chuck and Metatron have been writers for the boys story at one point or another.
Metatron was the sole writer from season 6-11, until chuck took over...inevitably writing Metatrons demise, but not before Metatron made changes to the original draft.
Let’s bring it back to the finale of season 4, when Chuck tells Castiel,
“You aren’t supposed to be here.”
Metatron himself has said that there is problems with first drafts...so naturally he edited the “first draft”, which changes the Winchesters storyline.
Everytime we see Chuck or Metatron at a desk, they are writing. What else would they be writing other than the Winchesters story.
What about Chucks death?
Every author has some sort of plan when they are writing, all authors get somewhat attached to their characters regardless of whether they like the character or not, and many authors choose too write a bad ending for their characters.
Chuck could have written his own death as means of giving closure to the Winchesters, he could have finished writing the series way back in season 11, and made himself the villain in order to bring the proper closure that every author wants.
The problem with first drafts though, they are choppy...unruly...unfinished and we have proof that metatron saw gods first draft, so if first drafts are unruly and unfinished why not edit it as you see fit...especially if the author is nowhere in sight.
Why Metatron?
Metatron was gods scribe, an ordinary angel charged with writing down his holy word...so who better than to finish what is arguably one of the best works of Chuck’s life.
We have further proof that Metatron is one of the writers of the boys story by all of Chuck’s unpublished works mysteriously being online...if they were never published and Chuck is god, how are they online.
Well what about the finale than?
If Chuck was the writer for most of the show, we can see by foreshadowing that he wanted Dean to die ‘going out in a blaze of glory’, Chuck wanted him to die Saving and hunting things. Now obviously many fans were upset with this ending for Dean, due to it seeming to be almost out of place and rushed.
Sam’s perfect life was one away from John and Dean, a life away from saving people and hunting things. We see the foreshadowing of this in Sam’s heaven, where neither Dean, John or any monsters show up. Sam wanted a family, he wanted a partner and someone that he could spend his life with...away from the hunting scene.
Castiel, or in the words of Chuck,”The one off the line with a crack in his Chassis” , was a fighter, the loyal soldier. We see much foreshadowing for this in season 9, where cas says things along the lines of “I am no leader” and “I am just a soldier”. In Chuck’s eyes, his perfect end was doing just that-being a soldier. He died saving what/who he loved, and in turn saved all of humanity, but still died saving everyone other than himself.
Chuck and Metatron wrote the plot the entire time, every death including their own, every single moment was pre-planned and edited and edited again.

I could argue that it is the readers or watchers that make a story work, I could even argue that it is the characters...but at the end of the day it is the writers that make the story work.
But...
It is the watchers and the readers that breathe life into a story, what good is a book of it is never read, what good is a TV show if it is never aired. Media can only exsist by writers, but exsistance does not necessarily mean life.

I was just thinking about the finale again (even though I have been trying my hardest to pretend it doesn’t exist) and I can’t help but be so angry. Yes, the fans can create a better ending. I have read countless better endings that I want to be true. I have attempted to write these better endings. But we shouldn’t have to! A lot of the fix-it fics I’ve read aren’t too wildly different from the finale, they just include a scene with Cas or a different death for Dean. How hard would it have been to include one line of “hello Dean” or a shot of a trench coat or even just a better mention of Cas. And that’s without me even getting started on Eileen! I remember saying I shipped Saileen because I had to ship something that was actually gonna happen, but in the end neither of the ships got the ending they deserved. Just two passing mentions, neither including the love confession, and in Eileen’s case, almost nothing at all.
They both deserved better. We deserved better.
It’s known that the human brain can’t tell the difference between fictional death and real death. They’re all the same to it. So if you’re actually going through mourning rn, I just wanna say it’s okay. It’s normal. You’re not overreacting. Take your time to process and stay safe <3

Fuck man, Jensen Ackles investing 15 years of his life, his talent, blood, and tears into Dean Winchester and this small tv-series.
Jensen Ackles A-star level actor declining other roles in big shows and movies like avengers out of loyalty and respect for Dean and the SPN fandom. Jensen Ackles, who could’ve easily earned an oscar had he left the show for something else.
Jensen Ackles leaving his family for 9 months every year to shoot the show.
Jensen Ackles calling Dean his friend and saying that he’ll carry him inside for the rest of his life. Jensen Ackles caring about Dean like no writer ever did, making deliberate changes to the way he portrayed Dean in order to reflect what Dean had been through and how it changed his character. Who analysed the shit out of scripts and made sure they were true to Dean’s character and journey, putting SO MUCH thought into his every single acting decision.
Jensen Ackles, who hated the ending, but was told convicted that he was wrong about it, that he was “too close”, when in reality he was THE ONLY who knew what was right and who Dean was all along.
Jensen Ackles, who worked so hard for so long and gave up so much to make Dean so relatable, admirable, lovable, and complex like no other character out there….only to have him ended like that…
We all deserved better and we all have been spat in the face, but no one more than Jensen Ackles & Dean Winchester. And while I am angry for myself, I am fucking furious for them.
pro tip on how to explain the spn ending to your friends
Have them imagine an alternate ending for the Harry Potter saga: what if Ron died in book 6 and never got mentioned again? Imagine he had no funeral and he was never grieved by any of the characters.
After Harry kills Voldemort he starts planning to get a wizard career and finally rise to his full magic potential. First, he wants to visit the Dursleys and he falls off the stairs in their house. Hermione offers to heal him with magic but he says “he was always supposed to die in this staircase”. He promptly dies, right after a semi-romantic moment between him and his cousin. Nobody has time to attend his funreal because they’re busy with work (maybe?). Only Hermione and his owl show up.
Hermione moves on, gets a party wig and marries a man (but we never learn anything about him, his face is blurred). We do not know whether Hermione manages to follow her dreams and become the cleverest professor in all of Hogwarts, the details of her life are left out in favor of showing her son for some reason.
All of the other characters - the Weasleys, Luna, Neville, Draco, Snape and Dumbledore - are killed by Voldemort and then resurrected off screen, we never see them again.
Ginny’s arc is building up to have her be the love interest of one of the leads but then she’s just never mentioned again.
Harry reunites with his abusive adoptive family in heaven because he doesn’t want to meet his actual parents. He doesn’t want to see Ron either but he smiles when he hears that he’s here.
The last shot is just Daniel Radcliff waving at the drone camera, thanking everybody for coming to the movie theater, as a Katy Perry cover of the main theme plays in the background.
