lots of nypd around columbia right now, they’ve completed surrounded the area and are restricting movement. srg - known for violent arrests - have been spotted mobilising. meanwhile ccny students have been violently assaulted and pepper sprayed by cops. things might escalate tonight

everything is shut down near columbia and city college, police buses and cars everywhere and police are barricading the streets near the campuses. a few people were just arrested outside of city college while it seems like some students are still occupying the city college administrative building and still in the encampment. tons of cops near columbia last i heard they arrested everyone occupying the hall and kicked out press, police have barricades set up so no one in the surrounding apartments can get out
militarized police in armored trucks, counterterrorism, SWAT and SRG units (nyc’s strategic response group) raided the columbia campus earlier today, beat and arrested students, and broke in through the window of hinds hall. press was removed from campus, police are blocking off peoples access to surrounding apartments
as i type this hundreds of police are raiding the ccny encampment only 20 blocks away. mass arrests reported, people being taken away in buses. separate from arrests earlier today at ccny where people were pepper sprayed
