Tdp Leola - Tumblr Posts
I immediately clocked the autism and was so flipping excited!!! It was so well done and so clear despite not explaining it! I love this analysis š
Ok ok ok SO!
I think everyone has realized that Leola was autistic. It was heavily implied both through the flashback images and Aaravos' narration-

She lined up her toys, flapped her hands (it was also shown in the trial scene), seemed to be sensitive towards loud sounds (like the other startouch elves when they talked), and walked on her tiptoes. All of those are classic signs of autism.
But there's one thing I haven't seen anyone else bring up, and that's that her giving her human friends magic and breaking the "cosmic order" or whatever could also be because of her neurotype!
Autistic people tend to have very strict senses of morality and fairness, and will disregard rules if they don't fit their idea of right or wrong. Personal example here, I used to constantly do things I was told not to because I thought the rules in question were bogus.
It's not hard to guess that Leola would find the rules about humans not having magic to be unfair- after all, her and all the other elves, and even the animals around them are full of it! So in the mind of an autistic child, this would be incredibly unfair. And she had the power to "fix" the situation! So why wouldn't she?
Why wouldn't she try to help her friends? Because it would break the cosmic order? That's vague as hell and she was a KID!
And the startouch elves atomized her, for breaking a rule she probably only half understood and thought was stupid. Because she was autistic.
Had this thought and wanted to share, makes the whole thing even more tragic.
No because we are not talking about this season ENOUGH and I will be using this opportunity to insert my opinions thank youuuuu.
I think I've already mentioned this but Claudia being so codependent on viren, begging terry to tell her what to do, being in limbo because viren's not there to tell her what to do? At first I was kind of irritated cause I wanted to see my girl go full-on villain, but in retrospect it makes sense. She's always done what other people wanted to do, basing her own desires off of theirs: she stayed with viren and soren because her mom told her to, she's done pretty much everything except saving soren because her dad told her to, etc. It makes sense, and how there's only aaravos left to guide her.
And speaking of aaravos, his backstory? It fits so well with the themes of kids and parents and cycles, and of course it would motivate him to do all the terrible things he's done. The audience immediately understands why he did that. Leola deserved better ughhhh they were so cute.
I will say justice for the sunfire elf plotline, though, because tdp proved in arc 1 that it can DO politics. It would've been fun to see that in a different system and with different characters. I really liked it this season, obviously, but I feel like it would've hit better with a stronger plotline in seasons 4 and 5. Ofc, as usual, janaya were highlights cause I love them, and their wedding vows had me crying over my own singleness. :,) It's fine though.
Idk if i've ever mentioned this one but RAYLA AND HER PARENTS? I don't usually cry at movies/shows but I was BAWLING. The reflection being little rayla hugging her parents? "We know you have such an amazing life ahead of you?" UGHHH I HATE THIS SHOW SOMETIMES WHY DID IT DO THAT TO ME.
Overall, I definitely think it was probably the best season since season 3. Here's hoping they keep it up through season 7 (and the potential arc 3???)!
i finished the dragon prince season 6 recently, and it has occupied my brain all day, and Iām craving to discuss the season with anyone whoās willing to listen, so to all those that watched TDP season 6, what was your opinion on the season as a whole? What did you think of Rayllum, the story progression? What do you think will happen next?
basically, if thereās anything you want to ramble about regarding TDP, just comment below/ message me and Iām more than happy to indulge you with my TDP thoughts/ listen to your own
Augusnippets Day 10: Begging for Mercy
Fandom: The Dragon Prince
Summary: Aaravos tries to argue with Cosmic Judges for Leola.
Ā Ā Aaravos couldn't seem to understand why his daughter was being punished for giving the humans magic. The girl had done it out of love, not mallis. She was young and didn't know she was breaking some old code.Ā
Ā Ā Standing in front of the Cosmic Judges, the startouched elf tried to plead his daughter's case. As they argued, he could feel Leola slipping out of his fingers. Would he really lose his daughter?
Ā Ā "She is but a child!" Falling to his knees, he yelled at the judges. "Show her mercy!"
Ā Ā The judges stayed quiet, cold in their decision. The girl had broken their code. It had been written to keep them safe as well as to protect their future. Now that the humans had magic, their downfall would begin.
Ā Ā "She has broken the cosmic order." The stern one spoke.
Ā Ā "She didn't know any better! I allowed her!"
Ā Ā Leola tugged on her father's clothing, "Daddy?"
Ā Ā Trying to calm his voice, Aaravos spoke. "It's alright. It will be okay." Kneeling down to his daughter, he tried to comfort her.
Ā Ā Deep down, Aaravos knew he would lose. That didn't mean he wouldn't try. After all, how could he give up on his daughter?
Ā Ā So the elf argued. He fought with all of strength; trying to have the judges grant his Leola mercy. Maybe it would be an act of mercy to him too. After all, what kind of parent wants to lose their child before they die?
Wholly agree with this (and love it!), just gonna add a couple things:
First, and I can't believe we're here, but: Aaravos might have just made it on the best cartoon dad list, AND JUST FROM ONE EPISODE! That's gotta be a record.
Second... I think this point could get even more sad, so sorry in advance; Leola was executed for breaking Cosmic Order, right? Because she gave magic to humans... Aaravos also gave magic to humans, and a far worse kind at that, while being a menace to any other form of Order he could find..... and was imprisoned. I'm sorry, WHAT?
And while we're mentioning it, let's look at that prison, shall we? It's a big pearl, sure. Inside it, it's a near-perfect replica of the home Aaravos and Leoa lived in before her execution. Outside, it rests among bones that could very well be LEOLA'S REMAINS, inside a body of water that Aaravos made with his tears over the span of 100 YEARS!!! And someone chose THAT as his prison, like they're trying to rub salt on the wound.
All this, on top of your point, makes me think that they, while definitely not wanting humans to have magic, were more concerned with getting rid of a child they could not understand or control, while trying to keep "one of the Great Ones" with them, and subsequently got petty when that (unsurprisingly) backfired.
The whole situation reeks of toxicity and ableism under a perfect facade.

As probably every other fan of the Dragon Prince I too watched the new season the moment it came out. I loved it. It was sad, funny, sometiems scary, gave us few answers and probably created new ones.
Spoilers ahead
I liked Callum and Rayla story. I loved the wedding of Amaya and Janai. I love how Terry takes care of Claudia and how he is not swayed by Aaravosā pretty words. Iām glad Zubeia is getting better and Iām sad Katolis was burned down. Ezran once again loses almost everything. But he still has his family and Aanya (who may have a thing for him? Iām not sure.)
Sol Regen got what he deserved. (I shouldāve known he and Luna were partners, Sun and Moon?)
My only question is why Aaravos is so fucking big? But thatās not exactly what I want to write about.
When I started watching TDP the first time I never expected I would cry for a certain guy named Viren. Probably nobody did.
But in the end I cried.
His story was for me the best in this season. Once again he admitted he made mistakes, that he was a bad man, a bad father. He didnāt expect to be forgiven and accepted his punishment. He refused following Claudia and tried to get her to listen and stop following Aaravos. He changed and although we seen it in the previous season, itās even more obvious here. He was so scared. Tormented by his choices, by that one elf who is a menace, by the fact his son didnāt want to talk or listen to his apologies. He knew he didnāt deserve any forgiveness and even if he wasnāt fine with that, who would be, he accepted it. And when it came to an end, he did what he was meant to do from the beginning. He once again was that person who is supposed to help people. He sacrificed himelf, last time used dark magic, to save his kingdom. He made mistakes and in the end chose to one last time be the servant of the people.
There is also story of Aaravos and Leola. Was it true? I hope it was. It was certainly beautiful. Startouched elves suck. Poor girl. This was so unfair.
But I wonder, they said the startouched elves canāt be killed and yet she is said to be dead. Why then, when the āhigher upsā seen what Aaravos became afterwards only let him be imprisoned instead of killing him? Or did he get rid of them beforehand?
Itās also amazing how the last episode resolves around three daughters. One that was lost. One that lost herself. And one, that finds those who are lost.
Did season six come out eight hours ago? Yes.
Have I already made a playlist about Leola? Yes.
Leola is a unicorn

Is no one going to point out that the Startouch Elf we see from behind seems to only have ONE horn?? And is therefore a... unicorn. Ever since we learned Leola was "rare among her own kind" I thought she might be a one-horned Startouch elf, and this 'screencap' looks like confirmation. Of course it might look like that because the image is cut, but the horn does look like it's centralized, does it not?
I said Leola was an one-horned startouch elf I said it I said it I did!!!!
Here!!! Here!! Leola is an unicorn and I've been convinced of it for a long time. I know this screencap is not of Leola herself, but still ššš«

Imagine being a human at the time after Leola's fall.
Apparently the impact was a devastating event, so you'd have your own troubles, but afterwards humans in the area would still have noticed what was going on in the crater:
A giant just kneeling there, crying and not stopping. Crying for years. Sometimes people dare to approach him, but he doesn't notice or care, he just cries, clearly anguished. He was already there when you were born and the crater only contained a salty lake. But over time the giant creates a whole ocean with his tears, and he is still crying when you die of old age, leaving you to wonder if he will eventually drown the whole world. And you never learn why.
Haunting.

oh.... oh dear
PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND SOMETHING!
(A tdp rant in disguise lol)
So we know that cosmic justice or whatv tf they are called gave the order for leola's execution bc she 'gave' humans magic, yes they specifically said gave. Not taught, not showed but "gave". Thats what they said. They also said that "...This act, however motivated, is the beginning of the end. The start of the long slow spiral to chaos..." Suggesting that cosmic order is now broken.
So these startouched elves are just chilling around doing nothing instead of protecting the cosmic order but the second its broken they're the ones who find people at fault as if they're not the actual reason for it???
Im sorry but that whole conversation is just weird. If they see leola's act as "the beginning of the end" that only proves that they have the knowledge of future. They HAD to know what was gonna happen in the future to find her guilty, that is the only explanation for them to give a death sentence to leola. And that only begs the question of 'if they knew what was gonna happen why did they still let it happen instead of trying to stop it???'
Idk they could have not let leola have any human friends. If this is about the ORDER of the COSMIC then i like to believe that its important. So they could've just warned Aaravos bro. Tell him the reason of it so that he could keep an eye out for his girl so she wouldn'tt get snatched by some random startouch elf. Also if the golden dragon (aka sol regem) saw leola and immediately snitched to the cosmic council that means he also knew what she was doing would break the order of the cosmic. Tf is that about? A random dragon knows about the cosmic law but not Aaravos, a startouch elf??????
Plus, If they can see the chaos of the future then shouldnt they also take Aaravos to this cosmic justice since HE is the one that ACTUALLY causes half, if not all of the damage to get revenge???
AND EVEN SO, THE WHOLE "THE LONG SLOW SPIRAL OF CHAOS" SHOULD HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE STATE OF THE WORLD RIGHT??? LIKE IT BASICALLY MEANS THE WORLD IS GONNA BE FUCKED IN THE FUTURE, AND THE ONLY DANGER FOR THE WORLD RIGHT NOW IS AARAVOS! IF YOU HAD THE POWER TO KILL A CHILD BC SHE IS THE TRIGGER FOR THIS CHAOS, WHY NOT KILL THE FATHER TOO SINCE HE IS THE ACTUAL CHAOS?!
im sorry im mad lol
Its just stupid. The so called cOsMiC cOuNCiL is nothing but BS. Leola had no reason to get executed. Bring me those elves i just wanna talk.
If that bitch didnt snitch on our little angel Leola EVERYTHING WOULD'VE BEEN FINEEEEE

fuck Sol Regem all my homies hate Sol Regem
leola and claudia wouldāve been best friends I think
One note = one headpat for her cause ššš

The rest of the Leola pictures.
