thinking about aus for ocs is so funny. like i already put this guy in a situation but what if i put them in another totally different one
Are we talking tumblr crowd or the general crowd? Queer folks or heteronormative folks?
I feel like people would characterize Jack as much more grumpy and moody than he really is, like a cat. When really he's more dog energy, even if he might not admit it. Loyal to his cause, lost when he doesn't have one. The Bodyguard AU proves this.
There would definitely be a crowd, though, that misinterprets Jack as a much more ill-intentioned character than he is. He wanted to kill Eddie. He wanted to lie to him. He wanted to preserve himself, and now he's getting what was coming for him.
And then there are always the people who might go a little too hard on the tsundere angle. He's kind of just.. chill. I wouldn't say indifferent, but he's got enough going on without being unhealthily attached to someone. If anything, Eddie's the one who's unhealthily attached. Anyways, he blocks out all his feelings, not just the positive ones. He's just a lonely guy with abandonment issues.
Meanwhile, I think people would probably characterize Eddie as much more quippy and happy-go-lucky than he's written. Either that, or they would write him as a himbo. Really, he's just some guy who used too many hair products, was a bastard, and now he's dead so he doesn't really have to worry about that anymore. I'm not sure where I was going with this.
I didn't really talk about queerness. Anyways, gay people would say they're gay. Heteronormative people would say they're not gay. The obvious.

Jack misses his old gramophone. When he was finally able to move back out, after his recovery, there wasn't room for it. He never ended up coming back to get it, though he still has the portable one his parents gifted him when he left for the war. He still couldn't lift it on his own. It's not worth the burden of asking for help. He doesn't think about it much anymore, but he finds it in the back of his mind.
Wylder is treated like an outcast. He is treated as cursed. He is treated as weak. But unfortunately for him, he was made with an innate sense of loyalty inside him. He needs a purpose, a cause. And it hurts, because there is a loyalty still that rings in his ears and yearns still to serve his Coven. Part of him still wants to sacrifice anything for them. But nothing will ever be enough.
Lenora fears abandonment more than anything else. Though she was barely spoken of, her mother's absence was obvious. Her father raised her well enough on his own, but there were things she never understood- her strange appearance, her innate magical capability. When her father had his accident, he left her as well. And she found Captain Harlow, and they were almost like the mother she had never had. And she met Barnaby, who was her first real friend. But Harlow died. And then when the crew split up, Barnaby left. She didn't see them for a long time. Now they're together again. She has her own crew, and so many people who love her. And she doesn't talk about it, but she is so entirely afraid of losing it all.
