Um, what pokes holes in the "Hopper is The American in the Cell" theory is that if anybody was paying any fucking attention during the scene before the post-credits sequence of Robin and Steve at Family Video, there's a poster of the Matthew Modine movie Private School behind them.

I'm pretty sure they're implying that Dr. Brenner is coming back.
