The Subtitles On The Site I Watch It On Are Usually Really Good So When The Writers Are Slacking It REALLY Shows And It's So Annoying - Tumblr Posts

subtitles that aren't exactly what the characters are saying word for word are the fucking bane of my existence. i don't think i have major hearing issues but sometimes i have trouble properly processing what the characters are saying and subtitles can really help, but man, the people making them have REALLY gotta stop slacking on the quality. don't paraphrase what the characters are saying, that takes away their personality and speech patterns and makes dialogue awkward and at times overly formal. don't censor swearing unless it is censored in the audio, coward. if a character is speaking another language, then put what they're saying in the subtitles (an additional translation along with the original audio is also welcome but not required). for the love of god PLEASE make the subtitles accurate. if i have to see another subtitle that's just a summary of what the characters are actually saying i think i'm gonna burst an artery

(and also people who put unnecessary unfunny jokes and comments into youtube subtitles that actively make what the person is saying harder to read and takes away from the experience should be banished from typing anything forever i think) (this does not apply to "Markiplier Contemplates A Banana For 5 Minutes")
