Unexpected
For Janaya
mild nsfw under the cut
Tonight, Janai had taken control with no resistance. Having little patience even with the lack of opposition, Janai hadn't bothered to move to their bed. Wearing the souvenir her human lover brought from Katolis, Janai took her on the divan until she was positive that Amaya was completely satisfied.
After some reciprocation and cuddling, Janai decided to carry her lover to bed. The gesture seemed to be appreciated, a genuine soft smile took over Amaya's face as her arms looped around Janai's neck. For a moment all was right with the world.
A few steps into the short journey, Amaya nuzzled in and whispered a single word, "Janai."
Janai, who until this very moment was unaware that Amaya verbally spoke at all, jumped out of her skin, dropping the human to the tent floor. Panic and guilt overrode surprise as she rushed to collect check on the woman.
Amaya was fine, nothing broken but the mood, and well, she thought Janai's reaction was hilarious. She laughed knowing the hands on her shoulder and stomach were signs that her elf was trying to check on her, but she just couldn't stop herself.
"I thought you were going to hit the ceiling!" Amaya finally said, nearly bursting out again.
"Well, it was a surprise! I didn't know you speak." Janai blushed, making Amaya feel slightly bad for teasing her.
"I don't, not really. I can't say many words in your language. Hello. Go. Stay. Hurt. A few others. I didn't bother to learn much, even when I pronounce them right, people say I sound off."
"You have a beautiful voice."
"Bet you say that to all the women you drop for saying your name."
"Quit deflecting." Janai huffed, picking her lover back up and carrying her to bed. Amaya used humor as a shield, sometimes more often than her actual metal shield. She laid the human down and leaned over her, "You have a beautiful voice."
"Thank you."
Pinky Promise
Pairing: Jungkook X Reader
Description: As children you had made a promise to get married. As the years passed your closeness never faded. In fact it became more than simply friendship and morphing into love. But what happens when the string of fate is severed?

-Flash Back, First Grade-
You played joyfully on the playground with your best friend Jungkook. “Kookie! Push me higher!” you squealed in excitement and he did just as you said. He pushed you with all of his little might. You weren’t holding on as tightly as you should have been and you fell right off the swing, landing on your knees. “y/n!” jungkook ran over in panic and tears brimmed in your eyes. “h-Hey! its okay i am here to save you!” he saws and kisses your knee then showing you his grin, with his missing front tooth. With that you returned the smile to him and giggled, “You are like my prince, Kookie! Can we get married one day?” you asked and tilted your head, shaking your little pigtails. His smile only grew larger “Yeah! Duh!” you got up and giggled “Pinky promise?” you asked and outstretched your hand, you chubby little pinky waiting for his. He locked your pinkies together “Pinky Promise”
-8th Grade-
You tucked your silky locks behind your ear as Mister Kim droned on and on about the beginning of high school life. Then the bell, your salvation, had run and you smiled excitedly. The bell also signaled your last day as an 8th grader. Your phone lit up and buzzed in your palm as you were gathering your things. It was Kookie, you smiled as you mumbled the text aloud “meet me infront of mister Yangs class<3.” You shoved the rest of your belongings into your bag and hightailed it out of the class room and down the wide halls. You saw his thin frame leaning against a stone pillar to the left of the band room. “koooookiee~!” you shouted as you ran up and hugged him tightly. He laughed and picked you up, spinning you around for a moment before setting you down. He leaned back a bit and chuckled while fixing your hair. “ oops” he said and put his hand down then you both broke into a victory dance. “We finished junior high!” “Boba on me?” you offered and he nodded. He gripped your hand and began running to the tea house together.
-12th Grade-
You stood there, cap and gown adorning your frame. A diploma resting in your palm and a bright smile plastered onto your face. “Y/n!” you heard the familiar deep voice call out. You looked up and saw him running to you holding his cap on his head while he ran, his gown blowing in the wind. you opened your arms for him and he came in and scooped you up in his arms shouting “we did it!” You laughed joyfully as he sat you down and you both stared at each other with adoration. Without noticing you both had leaned closer and closer and the world around you had slowly dissipated. Your lips met in the middle, the new, but amazing sensation sending a wave through your body. All you could focus on was the feeling of his lips on yours.
-Freshman Year College-
You embraced him for the thousandth time as tears stained your cheeks. Jungkook was accepted at a college in America and was following his dream, and since you loved him you were being supportive. You decided that it’d be best to break up, long distance was too much, and it would be so long. Of course you wouldn’t be ending the friendship but you both knew that long distance would be too hard. He pulled away and wiped your tears with a sad smile “I will miss you y/n. I will stay in contact” you sniffled “Sorry I’m a mess” you smiled up at him. Jungkook leaned forward and placed his forehead against yours “I swear i will talk to you every day” “Pinky Promise?” he let out a breathy chuckle. “Pinky Promise.” he says weakly and connects your lips in a chaste kiss.
“Flight B45102 To San Francisco Boarding now"
He grabbed his luggage and wrapped his other arm around your shoulders and kissed your forehead before turning and heading into the terminal. "I love you jungkook” you called out.
He turned to you with a tear stained face and a quivering lip “I love you too”
-Night Before College Graduation-
He lied to you. He swore to you to keep in contact, but you sent texts that never were even looked at. you had hoped these days would have been filled with his warm presence. You bit your lip to keep it from quivering and your body yearned to release a sob. “i really wish you kept that promise you bastard” you mumbled into into the silence that had taken hold of your room. You leaned back onto your plush mattress and stared at the pinky that was once locked with his. You sighed and were soon lulled to sleep by the gentle patter of rain.
(NEXT DAY)
You sighed happily in the embrace of your parents. You shook your professors hand and took photos with friends. You smiled as your parents congratulated you. “You did it sweetheart, we are so proud of you” you father said in a happy tone. Your mother had tears in her eyes and kept snapping pictures of you. You felt amazing but couldn’t help but feel like something was missing. Someone was missing.
“Thank you guys so much for coming. I know it was a long trip-” your mother gasped and covered her mouth. “Yah, Y/n isn’t that Jeon’s son?” she asked and you felt your stomach drop. You turned and looked where your mother had motioned. Your diploma nearly dropped from your grasp. There was a familiar, tall, masculine man holding a bouquet. His head turning every which way in search. You felt as if your lungs were going to give out and the tears welling in your eyes were so close to streaming.
“k..kookie?” you managed to stammer out loud enough for him to hear. His head snapped in your direction, his eyes locking onto yours. This moment felt so familiar. Like in high school, the world around you dissipated and it was only you and him. He made his way over to you, gently placing the flowers in your arms. the streams that ran from your beautiful eyes had made their way down your cheeks. “You broke the promise” you sniffed and he pulled you close “I know..i’m sorry. But now i’m not going anywhere. I’m never letting you go again” and then before you knew it, the sadness and resentment you had lived with previously had melted away like nothing when his lips returned to their rightful place against yours.
-Present Time-
It was almost blinding, the beauty that you were and the beauty that surrounded you. White was the color that had been most prominent, as it was the color of the lovely fabrics, lace and jewels that held you perfectly in all the right places, accentuating your beauty and making you look even more ethereal.
You looked out to all the people who sat before you, staring at you, some smiling and some crying from joy. You look to your mother and father, he gave you a knowing nod and your mother was smiling from ear to ear as tears has made a home among her cute freckled cheeks. You finally looked back to the man who held your small hands in his larger one. The grip was tender and nervous. You had said your vows and now it was his turn and his grip tightened slightly. He looked down for a moment to collect his thoughts then looked up into your eyes and you smiled reassuringly to him.
“From the begin you had always been there. Calling me your ‘Prince Kookie’ Who would have known the first graders who swore to get married actually would?” he said with a chuckle earning a laugh from the friends and family as well as a giggle from you. “ Through every hard day and every good day you were always by my side. You are my ray of sunshine” you began crying and he caressed your cheek with his thumb before returning it to grip your hands. “we promised to be married as children, but today we can officially say that we have kept that promise. So lets have a new one.” he paused for a moment “Promise to be together til’ all of the stars burn out, my love?” He asked and stuck up his pinky and you, without hesitation locked your pinky with his.
