"Boy Clad in Hospital "Nightie" Hitch-Hikes Home in Zero Cold," Toronto Star. March 26, 1934. Page 1. --- Ottawa, March 26. - Billy McCormick is 12 years old and dislikes hospitals, but he is back in a hospital cot to-day, apparently none the worse for a midnight adventure which alarmed his parents and nurses.
All alone, the lad slipped out of the hospital late Saturday night clad in his nightshirt and hitchhiked to his home, two miles away. The temperature was just above zero and he was almost frozen when he reached his mother's bedside and awakened her with the words: "How are you? I am fine."
Billy had wrapped a hospital blanket around his body and swathed his feet in pieces of cloth he found in his room before setting out on his chilly jaunt. He picked up a ride part way with a motorist and, finding the door of his home unlocked, walked in. The frightened mother called an ambulance and had him rushed back to the hospital, where he had had his tonsils removed a few days previously.
Just got out of my tonsillectomy:

Have some more art for my Guiding Light (name being workshopped) AU.

We all know what happens after this...
An extra series of just Cadenza (oc):

Surgery Recovery Update:
Day 1
I can’t even hold down the antibiotics and pain meds they gave me. I have thrown up so many times that I’m shocked I haven’t torn the scabs. Popsicles do nothing. I am in pain.
Surgery Recovery Update:
Day 3
I have made a list of foods I want to eat pounds of once I can eat solids. I crave salt and grease. Many items on this list include bacon in some fashion. I am, however, still in much pain.
Will ask my Poppow to take me to my favorite burger place. He may say no at first, but I am not only his oldest grandchild, but I am his favorite. It will be no issue to convince him.
Currently attempting to learn more sign language to communicate with my Mom easier. She used to work with the deaf and blind, so she knows a lot.
My Mom is still amazing :) she made me ice chips and gave me choccy milk
Surgery Recovery Update
Day 4
My blood sugar won’t stay up. I’m constantly on the cusp of a low BECAUSE I CAN’T EAT ANYTHING WITH ENOUGH ACTUAL CARBS. Eating is painful, nothing tastes the way it should, and I can’t eat anything of actual substance. I am exhausted. There are ten more days of recovery. I have school next week.
I want to fight God over this shit.
Surgery Recovery Update
Day 6
I am unable to open my mouth wide enough to eat anything. It is getting easier to talk, still painful, but I can’t eat anything because of how swollen my throat and jaw are.
8 more days 🙏 and I can finally eat bacon and cheeseburgers again
