When Tear just gets their plush body, they don't automatically know how to 'phase'. The existence of the corporeal body makes the process feel different enough. Unlike before, they now need to use magic and Tear did not have enough time for self discoveries before Error showed up.

When Error attacks Tear, Tear's soul is exposed. Error planned for his strings to go inside his opponent in order to grab the soul. However, his intent force pushed it outside before time. With the new body, Tear didn't know how to reject the intent yet. This usually requires close to no effort and monsters do it instinctually. This is the only canon instance where Tear's soul is forcefully shown via intent.

Another way to force Tear's soul out is by, quite literally, tearing his body apart and digging through all the cotton. This needs to be done using magic, because the plush body won't rip otherwise. Alternatively, it's also possible without magic if Tear is fused with their body

Tear's ribcage area doesn't mimic a skeleton as perfectly. It is not hollow. They had no point of reference while making the body. This is why Tear is pretty soft.

is tear story over? or is the comic going to have another comic?

'Passing ghost' comic is over. It only serves as Tear's origin story.

It's very likely that I will make another comic in the future for Tear. But I need to figure out what kind of story I would wish to tell.

My plan right now is to make other things that the comic was blocking me from doing. Such as animatic, animations, drawn asks and general illustrations. Per usual, I will still be dropping new character info here and there

I wanted to share a song I associate with Tear. It's a lil on the sadder note though.

@naeruunekk tagging you because you asked me for this in an ask, but I wasn't able to talk about it till now. But all the character info is out now, so let's do this

Lil reasons why I think it fits:

"I don't wanna drown but I wanna feel alive" > Tear can't swim, even tho it's an allegory in this song. It can also be taken as their wish to be loved/be like Sans, essentially changing themselves.

"These crowded rooms and awkward conversations they got me dying" > unable to fit in where they are now.

"In a million faces I’m alone" > They left their AU, so they quite literally have noone in the new AU. No family or friends. Except Papy, where they pretend to be someone else.

"Swimming by myself, up against the tide, screaming out for help" > Tear dealing with their inner demons about essentially being a nobody and stressing over how if they lose Papy they have nothing. Outside allegory again, Tear can't swim. So I imagine him struggling to stay on the surface.

"And I’m paralyzed. I feel like someone else. This isn’t me. I feel like now, I’m the odd one out" > They aren't a Sans. They aren't Papy's real brother. They aren't a Napstablook because the AU has one. They do not fit in Underfell.

"Wishing that I knew someone else who was suffocating" > self explanatory.

"I don’t wanna jump when the risk feels so high. But if you feel it too we got nothing to lose so let’s take it" > Tear never slips with shaping their attacks. Tear is afraid of even Papy's spirit knowing they are a ghost in the plush body, believing he would view them differently. But in Genocide route, they grows desperate and more fearful the longer the fight goes.

Sorry, but can I ask this question? How do you imagine fell and swap options/versions of tear sans? (swap version of tear sans is not Napstablook! but his cousin Mettaton! Mettablook? Hutstablook or whatever?)

Oh wow. Tear variant/different AU questions already? Consider my answer a headcanon, as I'm not gonna be creating and developing these AUs.

Fell Tear loathes Sans, because canon UF!Blooky loathes anyone affiliated with Asgore/Alphys. But in reality it's somewhat of a love-hate situation. Sans has qualities UF!Tear finds themselves respecting and admiring, but they can't help but hate the guy regardless for the side he found himself on. They pretty much become a Sans to show they can do everything better, while trying to gain said qualities themselves. The biggest one being how Fell Sans gets general respect from monsters. Monsters just avoid ever messing with the skeleton brothers. UF!Tear could be a little jealous that a part of it feels handed over, just because of who their brother is. Even though realistically, Sans had to work for it too. UF!Tear also respects Sanses visual 'scare factor'. Underfell is all about looking edgy and more intimidating than Undertale cast. I imagine that UF!Tear design would likely wear some torn jacket (like their blooky body sheet). It used to be this brand new looking jacket. It ends up badly torn in places from magic attacks in UF!Tear's attempts of 'getting respect'. But because of how painfully honest they are about their opinions and not keeping it to themselves, they end up hurting others. It results in a bunch of fights. They are surprisingly not that bad of a person despite it all, as long as you aren't on their bad side. Might still say some hurtful things to you though.

Swap Tear/Mettaton Tear would just have to be something about entertainment. In Undertale, just like Tear did, Mettaton already acts on their greatest wish. They want to be a celebrity, known in the entertainment industry. Maybe Swap Tear gets their body for the same reasons the game Mettaton got his. Maybe they are in the stage of just deciding to act on their goals and they see this tiny skeleton with oh so much energy. And every time chasing their dream gets hard, they remember Sans powering through everything. And it fuels them to always strive for more, always try that much harder. They need to work harder to become a popular entertainer. And that means they need to pass the barrier to get even humans to watch them. Swap Tear needs to be 'the best of both worlds' to achieve true greatness. But they also wanna be acknowledged and liked by Sans. And what is the closest, not-craftable, monster body to resemble a human? a skeleton. And who are they trying to impress the most? a skeleton. Probably fights the other 'mettaton' on the popularity leaderboards.

I have been passing too many follower milestones that I could not keep up with while working on my comic and now that I'm back from my trip too, it's time for a little surprise. Wanted to give back to you guys a lil. So here is the plan…

I will be drawing a big piece with Tear, everyone's OCs around and few more known Sanses. You guys would also get the original A2 file as a download. There is no specific raffle slot amount, as I will try to squeeze in as many characters as I can. Aim is to have at least 40 characters in the drawing. I will use random number generator to pick OCs that get drawn. Mutuals are automatically guaranteed to be drawn. The art itself will take a long time to make, as it's a big piece, so please be patient.

CLOSES ON NOVEMBER 17th

With Underfell's anniversary being yesterday, here is a little Tear fact. Tear doesn't celebrate their actual birthday (June 8th), but that of UF!Sans. This is because UF!Papyrus still remembers his brother's birthday and Tear never corrects him or states they are a replacement for their brother. On the first birthday Tear celebrates, Papyrus gifts them a kalimba mentioned in this ask. It is always in one of their pockets

Are you going to tell us what happened to the UF!Sans one day? I'm wondering if he was one of those who left his AU and could still be out there as an outcode. ᵖˡˢ ⁿᵒᵗ ᵈᵉᵃᵈ lol

UF!Sans exists, alive, somewhere outside his AU. The question of 'where is he' will remain a mystery, unanswered. Maybe in the future we will know. Currently, despite avoiding directly confirming or promising anything, I'm writing more of the story
