announcing Heatwaves - a rotational gameplay story!

what is heatwaves?

Heatwaves is literally what happens when you lie in bed late at night thinking about your blorbos and wondering what their lives would be like in high school. So I created a new save file, took some of my favorite sims (who are all successful adults in my main save) and turned them into teenagers so they could experience the best time of their lives - filled with drama, hormonal chaos and exams.

who are the protagonists?

Heatwaves focuses on the lives of four high school students and their classmates. Each family is played in turn for 7 days (Monday - Sunday).

I'm not very familiar with the US school system, as the German school system works a bit differently. The school system in Heatwaves will be a mix of my own experiences and made-up stuff.

The protagonists in Heatwaves are all between the ages of 17 and 19, as that is the usual age to graduate from high school in Germany.

I had way too much fun creating this yearbook. Also I'm fully aware that a yearbook is usually created at the end of a schoolyear (at least that's how it's done in Germany) but what better way is there than to introduce the characters in a high school story than via a silly yearbook entry? c:

Himmelblau - Die Ärzte

Been listening to old songs from Die Ärzte today and had this sudden urge to take some peacefull screenshots of my favorite couples. I hope the eye bug gets fixed soon. Most of the poses I wanted to use looked weird due to the eyes being half open.

The stage is set. The actors are dressed. Let the show beginn!

The Immernacht Circus is a fantastical place. Every year on the night of October 31, it appears as if from nowhere and blurs the worlds between phantasm and reality. The gates are open. Come in and be our guest and enjoy a night full of wonder.

As you step onto the grounds of the Immernacht Circus, you're blinded by the colorful lights, your own thoughts drown in the loud laughter of the crowd.

There is a shiver running down your spine. Part of you is still hesistant if a few hours of mindless fun are really worth the risk. There is always at least one victim. One unfortunate soul that gets engulfed by the night. But it's a price worth paying, don't you think? Everyone knows the gamble. And everyone prays it's not them.

I must admit I'm not hyped hyped, but still very excited to learn more about this pack! Also, the new world seems to be inspired by Romania. I absolute love that we finally get an eastern european world! I always headcanon Alex and Nasja being eastern european. So finally having a matching world makes me really happy.

The sweet smell of popcorn and roasted almonds leads you deeper into the fairground until you eventually stop near a young woman with fiery red hair. There are a bunch of cards in front of her. She smiles kindly at you, but her attention wanes when a blond gentleman approaches her table. You can't make out their conversation, but deep down you admire his bravery. Facing your future is no easy decision. You don't know yet, that this will be his first mistake for the evening.

"You thought we were finished with you, didn't you? Oh dear. The game hasn't even started yet."

"Think of it like this. You're my favorite pet. I have to make sure you're safe and never run away."

"From the day we met, I knew I'd hurt you eventually. It was inevitable, but I regretted it every step along the way."

  Monday marks the beginning of a new week. The weekend was great but, as the saying goes: “all good things come to an end” and it’s time to come back to work, school. The old routine…

- Jimmy, hurry up! I don’t want to arrive late at school. – Shouted Marie. - The school is not on fire! Unfortunately. – Mumbled Jimmy. - Stop being a jackass and hurry up. I still want to clear some doubts with Pixel before the bell rings. – Stated Marie. - Boring! – Said Jimmy. - Jerk! – Yelled Marie. - LOL, that’s because you’re my sister! – Affirmed Jimmy. - Who puts up with you? … your teddy bear, oops! – Played Marie. - Bitch! – Cursed Jimmy. - Hey! What’s that all about? – Questioned Jasmine. – Hurry up or we are going to miss the station. - Mom, just give me one more minute, because I am already finishing printing the book summary. – Requested Jimmy. - Good studies! – Said Jasmine while saying goodbye to the children. - Good luck with your test Marie.

- Hi Pixel, did you put a lot of efforts on your studies of sciences? - Asked Marie.

- To be honest, no. I hate Mrs. CumpleBottom so much! - Replied Pixel.

- Tell me about it! I think the only thing she's good at is to show off her pearl necklace of the time of Queen Victoria because as a teacher she's the Devil herself. - Commented Marie while laughing out loud with Pixel.

- Silence! The girls are in a Library. - scolded them Ms. Belle.

- Good morning class. I hope you have studied. I only want to see over your desk a pencil and nothing else. I will provide you a draft sheet signed by me and with the stamp of our college. I inform you that I am going only to read the test once and, as you know, I will not respond to any doubt there after. That's why you must pay attention as I read it. - Commanded Mrs. CrumpleBottom. - Silence Alexander! Stop being the class clown and let me explain the test to your colleagues.

- What a difficult test! - Thought Marie. - She didn't include anything I studied, old witch.

- Are you alright? – Asked a women wearing a hideous green blouse. - Yes… - Replied Jasmine a little dizzy. - Do you care for a glass of water? I can get you from that machine? – Insisted the stranger. - No, thanks. I will be just fine in a moment. It’s just the exhaustion. – Politely declined Jasmine the stranger’s offer.  - I’m definitely not feeling quite well this morning. This vertigos and nauseas have already been going on for a couple of days. To be on the safe side, I think I’ll drive by the drugstore.

- Sometimes it’s good to climb up the stairs to avoid having to put up with people’s bad mood in the lift. It was undoubtedly the start of an unpleasant day. (…)

- Are you fucking crazy?  – Shouted loud Josh.

  A scene of anger burst between Jasmine and Josh as Josh pleads with tears streaming down his face all awhole cursing berween the cries of Jasmine.

Half nine in the morning, although it is very cold the sun was shining. The snow had disappeared through the night and the white landscape gained some colors.

 - Wake up little prince. - Said jasmine. - It looks like a hurricane has passed in this room or your sister has to clean up this mess.

-  I think she’s in the shower. - Jimmy answered.

- Where is my kiss? - Josh asked. - Do you want to go to the park? 

- Yes, that’s fine. Can I take my skateboard? - Little Jimmy asked.

- Of course yes! - Josh said.
