This is set shortly after Ingo has gone missing (I saw it floated around online that Ingo’s been missing for about 5 years since the start of Legends Arceus, & adding 2 years since then, that makes 7).
Gear Station may or may not be closed, but either way, it’s empty…& even as someone who loves rain, it can sometimes feel like the sky’s crying.

If those words came from anyone else, Emmet probably would’ve politely thanked them on the outside while inside toss it over his shoulder. But strange things seem to happen around Ansy, & having befriended Reshiram, the dragon of Truth, he could trust her to be honest.

DxP REWRITE - Safe Travels
Under the simple package paper wrapping, Emmet found a very old, yet well-cared for bound journal written very neatly in the old Sinnohese dialect. Since that rainy day, he kept it on him always in one of his coat’s inner pockets.
Skyla & Elesa are here as Emmet’s ride to Sinnoh (after a very fast packing & change of clothes after Skyla delivered Ansy’s letter to him). They probably aren’t going to stick around, but Emmet would’ve wanted them with him here.

Scarlet x Violet
Like with Sword x Shield, I decided to share the highlights from Ansy & Ikrit’s Paldean adventure, Scarlet x Violet: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero! If you’d like to see the whole story, please visit my Instagram at parasol_lady_ansy 🌧️
While I did enjoy Scarlet & the DLC’s (going back to Unova in Blueberry Academy was a treat!), I didn’t like Scarlet nearly as much as I like (LOVE!) Sword, so this was a much shorter series, mostly focusing on the Indigo Disk DLC.
Important headcanons for this story: Ansy & Ikrit ended up on parallel timelines when they came to Paldea - Ansy was on the Scarlet timeline (Naranja Academy, Koraidon) while Ikrit was on Violet timeline (Uva Academy, Miraidon). They could still communicate across spacetime via their Rotom phones & Union Circle (spots where the timelines blur & they can meet up).
Being around all these kids really brought up Ansy’s maternal instincts, as she “adopted” Penny & Arven lol (she would still check on how they’re doing).
Professor Sada / Turo similarly fell into the parallel timeline years ago, though each concluded the other “left” following an incident with the Time Machine (the reason the timeline split in the first place). These two timelines converged in the endgame climax, & the Paldea that exists now is a combination of the two. The academies became Uva-Naranja Academy, & everyone has a combination of memories from the two timelines.

PKMN Black - Ansy
One more highlights post before going back to our regular schedule of Diamond x Pearl REWRITE (& please excuse the slight style changes through these lol, as I made some of these a year or two ago, while others I made leading up to posting DxP REWRITE on my Instagram parasol_lady_ansy).
As I said on Ansy’s timeline, BW was a very coming-of-age story for Ansy, maybe the most impactful for her character as a whole. It was her first official Pokémon journey, as her very first one through Kanto was cut short (see timeline), leaving her with PTSD. Enter Rain, her then-service Eevee (now Vaporeon!) - she was given to Ansy right before she moved to Unova to help adjust to life there.
She met all kinds of friends, enemies, rivals, & even a mysterious Champion from another region. This is when she first met Ingo & Emmet (they were about 19, brand new Subway Bosses, while she was 15). Skyla was about 16, & still working on her pilot license where she can fly industrial planes (like she does in BW2), but can fly small recreational aircraft like ultralights. Cynthia was also aged down to a teenager, though older than Ansy (looking forward to when she appears in DxP REWRITE 🖤)
The last fight against N, then Ghetsis, was a big turning point for her, as that was the first time since the incident in Kanto that she finally allowed herself to be angry, synching perfectly with the fiery white dragon Reshiram. She & they have a very deep bond, & while she didn’t catch them (Ansy befriends Legendaries instead of catching them), they would come when called wherever she was in Unova. 🪽
SUBMAS - Up & Down
That very proud moment when I remembered how to write ノボリ (Nobori) & クダリ (Kudari) off the top of my head - looks like my Japanese lessons are paying off lol. よかったですね。🥲
I wanted to get some more practice in drawing our favorite train twins, along with testing out a very slight style change! For a long time, I’ve been feeling a little bummed that my current style doesn’t let me show eye colors, especially with DxP REWRITE - the twins canonically have these very distinct silver-gray eyes. It’s a small change, but seems to work nicely enough! 🔼 🔽
I was originally thinking of implementing this in the next chapter, but I’m actually thinking of going back & making some edits, starting with the comic scheduled for Sunday! See you then! 😊
Captain Skyla
Listening to “Liberation of Gracemeria” (Ace Combat 6) again made me want to share this adult Skyla concept I made. I like to think this was set maybe right after getting off the phone with Ansy, heading out to personally make that express delivery from Kitakami to Nimbasa City.
She’s shown up a couple times in DxP REWRITE (namely, delivering Ansy’s letter to Emmet, & flying him over to Sinnoh with Elesa), mostly because she is my all-time favorite Gym Leader - Flying-type pilot in an airport town, great design & personality, Swanna ace, etc. ✈️
In Ansy’s timeline, she starts off as a teenager learning to fly in BW, then a full-fledged pilot in her 20’s (BW2, as she flew us in game in what looked like a cargo plane). Nowadays, she’s the best pilot in Mistralton City, & maybe brought a Flying Taxi service to Unova, seeing as Blueberry Academy has one:
PS: no worries for subway fans - Flying Taxis can only take a few passengers at a time, & I’m sure there are plenty of folks who prefer to keep their feet on the ground lol.
PPS: I originally was gonna ask what Flying PKMN would be used in mainland Unova, but then the mister sensibly pointed out Braviary (especially since we fly around with its regional variant in Hisui). 🦅
NPC Ansy
Drawing BW2 Ansy in that last comic with a raincoat like standard Parasol Ladies made me do it lol. Definitely nostalgic, looking up BW2 battle screenshots for this. ^_^
Parasol Lady is a trainer class who specializes in weather teams, but usually rain. There are certain moves, abilities, & types that have an advantage depending on the weather, like Weather Ball (a normally Normal move that gets a power boost & type change depending on if it’s raining, sunny, or snowing / hailing). Castform is generally their signature Pokemon, along with any with abilities like Swift Swim, Rain Dish, Hydration, or Drizzle. 🌧️💧
You probably would encounter her later on in the game (whenever Altaria evolves, around 35), but beat her fairly easily lol. Her default dialogue would be about the weather, her dear Pokémon, or maybe cloud cookies. ☁️
PS: I didn’t know you can catch Castform in BDSP (very rare Trophy Garden encounter), & I can’t not have Sora on the team if she’s available sooooo I did some rearranging on Ansy’s DxP team lol. I’m honestly planning on just redoing these profiles eventually (maybe after Chapter 1), but yeah, just so you guys know lol, Ansy has her raindrop baby. 🥲🩵
