Portrait of a Miracle
"We belong in a museum", I think. We're somthing by Van Gogh maybe. All swirls of blanket, light, emotion, and colors so vibrant it's hard to believe they exist in a material as simple as paint. The soft curves of our faces and bare skin are carefully contoured to highlight our expressions, position, and proximity. Maybe the painter centered the angle between us, both of us visible. The story of tonight visible.
I shift closer to you at that thought, comforted. I open my mouth to say something, but words fail. My lips find yours instead, a hesitant hand on the back of your head, my fingers gently burying themselves in soft locks as you reciprocate. An affectionate kiss, meant to express love, adoration. Not desire. Not want or need. Simply gratitude, contentment, and happiness.
This feels natural. Like life was meant to be this way. With you. Calm. Stress-free and warm in a way I didn't know things could be. You're warm. Warm like how it feels to walk into a restaurant in the dead of winter. Maybe the colors on our painter's canvas are shades of orange and red and yellow, those wintery colors forgotten in the rush of emotion that spurred the portrait. I wonder if this will last forever, because it feels like forever. Because I want it to be forever.

summary: after a mission gone wrong, vision accidentally hurts someone. tony is furious with him and berates him for his mistake, but fails to realize that he has feelings.

a/n: seeing vision cry makes me cry.
“how did you manage to hurt someone” tony yells obviously furious.
“i didn’t mean to sir-“ vision tries but is cut off
“you didn’t mean to” tony yells making me flinch “you aren’t supposed to make mistakes, you are a robot they don’t make mistakes” tony yells hitting the table.
i look at vision and see the hurt look on his face. i feel my heart break as he quickly changes his hurt expression to a neutral one.
“i’m sorry sir it won’t happen again” he says lowly, looking down at the table
“you’re damn right it won’t happen again” tony yells.
vision gets up and walks out, i look at a furious tony and steve and give him a look. i look around and notice the avengers just sitting there like vision hasn’t saved their asses in multiple occasions but won’t defend him.
“wow” i say catching everyone attention
“what y/n” tony asks bitterly
“for a genius you are really fucking dumb at times. why do you fail to realize that vision has emotions, he’s more than a creation tony. you don’t think he feels guilty about what he did. he’s saved humanity from ultron when we couldn’t, that should say a hell of a lot” i stop to take a deep breath “he’s hurt by what you said but you couldn’t take a moment to realize it” i say and tony just stares at me.
i walk out of the room and go after vision. i see visions door is closed so i knock lightly, i wait for a minute but he doesn’t answer.
“vis its me” i softly say as i open his door and walk into his room.
i shut the door behind me before turning around, i see vision sitting on his bed staring at the wall.
“you okay” i ask snd he shrugs.
“i didn’t mean to hurt her” he says softly “i would never do that” he says and i walk over to him and stand in front of him.
“i know vision and i know you feel terrible but what tony said isn’t true” i say softly as i lift his chin so he can look at me “you are allowed to make mistakes because it’s normal” i assure but he looks away from me.
“how do you even love me” he asks barely above a whisper
“i love you because you’re wise, strong, kind, loving, you’re the love of my life vision and i would not trade it for anything” i admit.
he looks back at me and his eyes search mine before a tear falls from his eye (gif).
i frown at the sight of the tear and quickly wipe it away. it was visions first time crying but i wasn’t going to make a big deal about it because he’s experiencing new emotions.
“thank you darling” he thanks and i look at him confused .
“for what” i ask and he stands up and caresses my cheek.
“everything” he says and i smile before kissing his cheek lightly.
“anything for you vis”

I don't think of myself as a boring person or a person that no one will lose interest in after getting to know, I feel like I miss out on things being an introvert, having almost no interaction with co workers on subjects outside if work I don't have much to speak on so I quiely listen while in my own world pretending to be as invisible as I am, I only seem to speak maybe once a week, when a moment comes otherwise I have no idea how to make myself known to people I've been working with.

In this house we only loosely acknowledge current MCU canon. In my mind it's still around 2014-15. Winter Soldier just came out. We have such high hopes for the in-depth character arcs of our main babes, not to be turned into cash cows milked dry of any soul. The Avengers still all have their own floors in the tower and Bucky is coming to live in as Steeb's emo plus-one.
