Im following the jjk manga right so when i finished BM i was like, yk what idrc who she ends up with i just want the main 5 to STAY ALIVE. (will, alice, nick, bree, sel)

im honestly terrified that william might be killed off. But also greatly intrigued in his arc, what do yall think it will be?

ya know what just occurred to me? Will's scion parent is probably dead because of abatement.

In Legendborn, they make it VERY clear that the lower ranked scions are called pretty consistently, and Will is 12th. AND since we don't know about Will's other parent, they could have very easily been their partner's squire.

If Will is an orphan that WILDLY changes my perspective on his relationship with the order. Presumably his scion parent died early, because as 12th ranked they were not only for sure called but likely died in the field rather than abatement, so it's likely Will lived with his other parent or just with the order depending on how manipulative they felt that day (probably very let's be honest).

So not only did Will manage to grow into a kind person despite being raised by complete jackasses, he is also watching the only family he's ever known be torn apart while at the same time realizing that family is actually a cult.

Absolutely insane, Tracy, please chill out.

I wonder if any characters in the lbc speak a second language? Apart from the welsh everyone speaks cuz. Yeah.

I feel like had he been in different circumstances sel would speak like spanish or french or something. Who know, maybe he does speak a second language?

I also feel like valec speaks more languages, with how long he's been around and it would probably be useful in his broker job.

Probably the shadow king as well because his ass is so old.

I agree with about all of that BUT ESPECIALLY THE LAST PART. I personally HATE it when there is some kinda movie adaptation with real actors cause it's just not the same. They will NEVER look like my mental image and it completely destroys it....

an ANIMATED SERIES HOWEVER.... I desperately agree. I'll wait 20 years for an animated series of the lbc...

My Legendborn Cycle Musings & Theories

May 2023 is when I first got into this series and I've been hooked ever since. I've read Legendborn and Bloodmarked at least twice and I have some thoughts about the books and series in general. So without further ado:

Spoilers ahead!

First of all, I'm glad I waited to make this post because recently more information has been revealed about the next upcoming book (Oathbound), and that instead of the series being a trilogy of books it'll be a tetralogy (4 part book series).

Oathbound

I strongly believe that the Shadow Court is definitely going to be unleashed that was part of the bargain Bree made with the Shadow King after all.

Vera’s warning to Bree at the end of Bloodmarked: “Chaos thrives on imbalance.” In Oathbound, is Bree going to become villainous or corrupted in some form? Since she doesn’t have her ancestors to balance or influence her since she closed the ancestral stream?

Since the third book is called Oathbound I wonder if this means oaths will be broken or removed. Obviously, Natasia's Kingsmage Oath to Martin Davis had to have been removed. Could the same thing happen possibly between Nick and Sel?

At the end of Bloodmarked, the main trio: Bree, Nick, and Sel have become separated. Since this is Bree's story first and foremost I think the book will still only be from Briana's point of view. I don't think we'll be getting multiple points of view. However, I'm not quite sure.

Selwyn Emrys Kane

There’s more to Selwyn Kane than meets the eye. One of the main themes in the Legendborn Cycle is ancestry and inheritance.

Theory 1: Erebus (the Shadow King) is Selwyn’s father. Erebus is described as a father-like figure towards Sel and he has a history and a clear fondness for Natasia (He knew where she was at the end of Bloodmarked). However, we know that the Order supposedly monitored Natasia closely while they ensured she gave birth to an heir. Obviously, since both her and Sel are powerful Merlins there must be more to discover about their bloodline. Also, it is mentioned how closely Sel resembles Merlin his ancestor not only in appearance but also in mannerisms. Sel is a prodigy and has the rare ability to transform into an Owl like his ancestor Merlin. Not to mention, the skill he used to craft aether constructs to hold Bree together after her injury which isn’t easy to do and most likely would’ve killed other Merlins attempting to do it.

Theory 2: Maybe Selwyn’s bloodline has ancestral ties to someone on the Shadow Court. 

Nicholas Martin Davis

He's going to be leading the faction of the Order that's still loyal to the Knights of the Round Table.

Maybe he'll continue to forge a further alliance with the Line of Morgaine. Nick will then be further exposed to how they live and maneuver outside of the Order. He is trying to find a solution to stop the Legendborn Cycle without the Scion of Arthur having to die. In Bloodmarked, he found something out but he didn't get to elaborate on it further.

In General

I think the relationship between Sel and William is underrated.

There’s still much we don’t know about Cambions and unions. So far, we know:

Full Demon + Human = Cambion

Human + Cambion = Cambion

But what about: Full Demon + Cambion = ?

Cambion + Cambion =  ?

Are these unions even possible or allowed and could they produce offspring?

On the cover of Bloodmarked, I think Bree is wearing the outfit that she wore during the Rite of Kings ceremony.

Valechaz is clearly enamored and fascinated with Bree and he's such a wildcard. Valec at times can also be hard to read. Will he be a friend or foe going forward?

This may be an unpopular opinion, but in terms of a TV series adaptation of the Legendborn Cycle, I would prefer that it be an animated TV series rather than a live-action series.

Erebus Varelian's Real Name

Ok so we all know Erebus is not the dude's real name. Natasia gave it to him and in turn he gave her the name Nyx. So, it's likely that his real name also starts with E. Now I know I sound crazy delusional when I say this,but what if his real name is........Emrys? The implications would be wild and I love chaos.

But i just cant help wonder what will happen with nick if selbree is endgame? Would feel weird if he was just... Not endgame... The end... Like he'd have to do smthng bad right? Be written out of the story? Die? Like? ????

this is all based on what I've observed of Tracy Deonn's preferences and inspirations

1. She's an enemies to lovers fan, as stated in a tweet

2. Bree is inspired by revenge! Katara from ATLA, as stated in a tweet

3. In a podcast she said Sel was like " a tiny zuko" (from ATLA)

4. She's literal zutara( zuko and Katara) trash

5. Bree is also inspired by Bonnie from vampire diaries

6. Sel is inspired by Damon from vampire diaries

7. Damon and Bonnie start off as enemies like Sel and Bree but become best friends

8. In the vampire diaries books, they even date.

9. And most importantly, tracy deonn ships bonnie and damon and even stated that she wrote them into her book

Honestly, the whole post-jonas-fight "downtime" is great. (Apart from the racist tank station dudes but ok) We have sassy alice against sel? Big winner. Sel being comforted by knives. His ''codename'' 😭 (kane. Southpaw. Horizon.) (HELLOPPPP) (I hope i got that correct thats from memory) erm the moan thingy i posted about like 3 min ago 🤨🤨🤨👀 so funny omfd, and his ass acting like a dad on the road trip.

Who'se role would you prefer to have in legendborn if you had to pick

in all honesty, i dont think i'd survive a day in the order LMMFFAAOO. racists all throughout the order, rankings, demons, cambions, love triangles, i may as well write my will in all honesty, maybe i'd prefer being in alice chen's position but then again i don't like the idea of being in a coma maybe i'd like to be in the position of patricia hartwood (bree's therapist), mainly because i know that i'd much rather be the therapist of the main character than have a 20% chance of dying for the plot

Im actually sure they will! Tracy confirmed that there would be more willark in oathbound.

And actually now that i think about it, if everything is from Bree's POV and she stays with the shadow king for at least the majority if not the whole book, then it will be hard to incorporate much willark, which is why i think we will get a nick & bree pov, but also possibly sel as well... He might just get the nick bloodmarked treatment though, idk.

Hmm i don't really think so because they don't even know that the sword is not in Bree's possession. They have no way of knowing where it is. I think the sword is going to get retrieved in book 4 ngl

MORE rootcraft medicine? Does he know any now? And, honestly, there is a possibility he explores rootcraft but i don't think that will happen as no one is willing to teach him cause he's like yk legendborn and stuff and bree is busy asf rn and i don't even think he finna get acces to root? Cause he's not part of those circles so honestly i don't think so but who know
