Making A New Start For Herself In Hollywood Was Not As Easy As She Thought It Could Be. When She Was

Making a new start for herself in Hollywood was not as easy as she thought it could be. When she was little, the roles just seemed to find her so easily. But now, with that reputation following her into adulthood, it was proving to be that much harder. The years she took off to go back to school certainly proved that things have really changed in the scene she used to be so familiar with. But, coming wasn't all bad. Especially not since she met Landon.

Sure, she had become a huge fan of his during her study days, watching his documentaries and everything he put out. But, getting to know him personally had become something completely different. They just clicked in a way she didn't expect. Even if they had to keep things really low-key, a choice they both agreed was best, just getting the chance to be together was nice.

"Lanny," Lily smiled to him as she closed the door behind her. She walked in dressed in a pink and black plaid skirt, hello kitty sweater, black Scream t-shirt and sneakers, moving over close to him. She leaned over him to press a little kiss to his cheek, "What's wrong? You looked a bit tense there when I walked in. Everything okay?"

Paparazzi Were Always A Problem, But That She Knew That Well Enough. Even When She First Left The Scene

Paparazzi were always a problem, but that she knew that well enough. Even when she first left the scene for school, there were still people that followed her with cameras. Everyone was curious to see where she'd end up, but after a couple months they got bored and let her be until she popped up again. Lily exhaled a sigh at this news, tucking her hair behind her ear, "Paps, of course. Nothing new, right?" she just smiled.

Paparazzi Were Always A Problem, But That She Knew That Well Enough. Even When She First Left The Scene

At compliment, she shifted, turning a little to give him a good view, "You like? I just bought this skirt. Thought I'd wear it out a little," leaning back in front of him she gave a little hop up onto the table, crossing one leg over the other, "I had an audition this morning. Which I had to dress very modestly for. But, I changed before going to lunch with my brother. Nothing special."

Watching him, Lily saw the way he reached for his cigarette case. It seemed to be more frequently lately that he tried to reach for one, but she felt a slight feeling of triumph when he saw it was empty. She reached over to grab it, closing it to turn over in her hands, "It was an open audition, so I don't expect to hear anything back about it. You know, Lanny, you really should quit," she held the case up before setting it back down beside herself.

She Could Definitely See How On Edge He Was Becoming Without That Cigarette. Agitated, More So Than Whatever

She could definitely see how on edge he was becoming without that cigarette. Agitated, more so than whatever he was dealing with with the paparazzi. She wasn't naïve to his addiction, but even if he felt better with it Lily didn't like to see him go further down that road. And to her, at least when since she'd been around, it just seemed like he was turning to smoking more and more. She almost felt bad taking them nearly every time he bought more, but only because it was such a terrible waste of money. But, in the end she believed it would help.

"Yes, you are right about that. But," she pushed off the table, reaching to take one of his hands in hers, keeping her eyes on his face, her own concern coming through now, "I'm worried about how it'll affect you down the line. It's not any better to smoke the way you do. And - i want you around as long as you can be."

She Could Definitely See How On Edge He Was Becoming Without That Cigarette. Agitated, More So Than Whatever

Listening to him talk about the auditions and the whole process of course made sense to her. She's seen enough of it since she was a toddler. His offer, though, gave her pause. Lily smiled a little, tilting her head a bit to the side, "Landon... You know I appreciate the offer, and I would love nothing more than to work with you on this. But - I think it would make this more ... difficult for us. I mean once people find out for sure we're together, can you imagine the things they'll say? Especially about me."

Her reputation was one thing she was constantly aware of as she tried to recreate her image. More than just being the "Horror It Girl" she had to be conscious of anything she did that would lead back to Landon. The last thing either of them needed was rumors that she slept her way into roles.

"I know how auditions can be, especially when you already have a strong reputation. That was why I left the spotlight for a while in the first place," Lily shrugged her shoulders, looking off to the side as she remembered that time, "The last audition I went to as 'Pandora' was for a rom com, one I really thought sounded fun. I wasn't even really going for the lead role. I know how I look, it was easier to go for like, a daughter or something. But, I never even made it into the room. They saw me, saw who I was, and told me they had all they needed. Rejection is a bitch, especially when you don't even get a chance to try."

There Was Always Something So Comforting In Landon's Words, In That Way That No One Else Had Ever Really

There was always something so comforting in Landon's words, in that way that no one else had ever really compared for her. He was sincere, looking out for her even when she didn't ask. She was sure that he would be the same even if they were only friends. His soul was kind, even if he hid under a thick exterior he only lowered for her. But, even then Lily could see there was so much he still hid. As much as she wanted to know everything about him, she refrained from asking. If it was something he wanted her to know, he would tell her. Maybe in time he would open up more.

"One day, I would love nothing more," Lily hummed into his chest, returning the embrace with a sigh, "That'll be the true dream role." She was like butter in his hands, practically melting as he brushed fingers through her hair. As comforting as it was enticing, made even more so by his added comment at the end.

Lily raised her eyes to smile up at him, shifting her arms from around him to up around his neck, pulling him and herself closer together, "Mmm?" she hummed low, returning with a teasing tone, "Well, my night is free, just for you. If you have something in mind... Don't keep me too long in suspense."

@wynterlanding : [] Sender And Receiver Hear A Sound When They Should Be Alone ( Footsteps / Creaking

When it came to making connections and getting a name out there, parties were always the best way to do that. Frankie was a regular at all the biggest parties and social gatherings, typically followed by one or two of her clients. Rarely did she come to these events alone. It was all work to her, not a social event. Every interaction with some director, big or small, was a chance to plug the clients she felt fit the best.

This time, it was a young actor she met working in a soup kitchen. He gave the usual story for young actors, coming to Hollywood seeking fame and wanting to bask in the limelight, without realizing just how hard that was. Lucky for him, Frankie was there to give him a boost.

Of course, he also tended to wander off as well. Not quite as focused as she expected, but she could deal with it.

Passing through a back hallway of this venue, Frankie was checking every room she figured he would be in, "Bloody hell, Marius, where are you?" She mumbled to herself. She came on a door that led to a balcony, noticing someone was out there who fit the look of her runaway actor. Opening it, she started her scolding immediately, "I swear to God if you're meeting someone out here again I will -" moving closer she could see it was Marius, a slight smile coming to her face in place of the anger, "Landon Wynter? What are you doing out here all alone?"

"Oh? Avoiding me are you?" Frankie smiled to him, choosing briefly to play alone with his tease, "You certainly wouldn't be the first, Mr. Wynter."

"Oh? Avoiding Me Are You?" Frankie Smiled To Him, Choosing Briefly To Play Alone With His Tease, "You

If there was anyone she would expect to find outside on their own, of course it would be Landon Wynter. She didn't even need to hear it from him, everyone in there knew about the tension between him and his ex. Public breakups were always messy, but ones like that were a whole different degree. Still, Frankie knew better than to draw attention to it.

She moved closer to him, careful to stay up wind from his smoke, "Its alright, I don't mind," she gave a passive wave of her hand. If he wanted to smoke, she wasn't going to stop him, "Suppose you aren't social gathering type. But then, I don't blame you. Sharks is definitely a good word for them."

She moved closer to the balcony edge, leaning onto the railing beside him, "Yeah, my newest little protege. Have you seen him? He is damn good at talking himself up to people, but he tends to flirt more than network to .. pretty much everyone," Frankie just sighed, shaking her head, "I'd say it might be wise to put him on a leash, but I'm really not interested in finding out if he likes that sort of thing."

Something Frankie Noticed About Landon Was The Fact That He Backtracked On Things He Said If It Seemed

Something Frankie noticed about Landon was the fact that he backtracked on things he said if it seemed like it could be taken a different way than he intended. Always so careful with his words. Given his current reputation, she couldn't blame him. But, she was always cordial enough with him whenever they were able to speak that she thought he would let down that guard just a little, just enough to be able to relax.

"Don't apologize," she said it with a slight laugh, the corner of her mouth curling a bit more with the smile, "In a sense you're right, however, I'm sure you know I'm not like all agents. I'd rather not hear about my 'children's' bedroom fantasies." Frankie let the joke hang between them, hoping it would lighten his social load a little.

The question about her being at the party made her pause, giving him a slightly weird look. Maybe it was because no one really asked that before, but she also figured it should be pretty obvious to anyone. "Why? Because I'm not the type to fling a newborn child into a hornets nest. Even though the child in question has wandered off to do who knows what - hopefully not damaging his fragile reputation," Frankie shakes her head, standing up straight to take her phone from her purse to check her messages, "I take no thrill being around these people. It's just work to me. Keeping my clients safe and making sure they are introduced to the right people."

Something Frankie Noticed About Landon Was The Fact That He Backtracked On Things He Said If It Seemed

Seeing no new messages, she tucked the phone back away and returned her gaze to his face, "But you are right. Things were better when it wasn't about who you know. When it was about actual talent instead of what publicity you can bring to a name. I saw that trying to make my own way up, but it clearly didn't work. And it's been all downhill since. Good looks get you anything."

"Not crazy," she reassured him, looking his way with curious, but sympathetic eye, "I think most in your position would probably feel the same." Without pulling any more attention to it, Frankie just gave a little smile. Of course, anyone with such terrible, public drama would be more than happy to fade into the background where no one would bother them. Landon is no different. Still... the sentiment made her a bit sad to hear from him. If he had faded off, they might have never met.

"Not Crazy," She Reassured Him, Looking His Way With Curious, But Sympathetic Eye, "I Think Most In Your

The compliment was not lost, however, and it did work to brighten her smile a bit, "Well, then its a shame I'm not in the competition anymore, isn't it?" Frankie's eyes met his, equally studying his face with a certain curiosity. The little laugh he gave definitely sounded more natural, more at ease. Landon Wynter was definitely a quiet man who enjoyed his solitude and he thrived in it. But, even the lone wolves need company once in a while...

She blinked the thought away, turning a bit to lean against the railing instead, taking her phone out once more. This was no time to give in to any personal feelings, not when her client was likely doing something the tabloids would eat up in the morning.

Frankie clicked through to the text conversation with Marius, " I - really need to find this boy. He won't answer any of my texts, which could be nothing but it could also be something." She flashed Landon a smile, slightly apologetic as she hit to call Marius. When it went straight to voicemail she let out a groan, "Perfecrt."

Hollywood Parties Were Certainly Not Like Anything He'd Ever Seen Before. Maybe That Was Just Because

Hollywood parties were certainly not like anything he'd ever seen before. Maybe that was just because these party goers could afford more drinks than the average house party, and heavier ones at that. Though... Marius couldn't quite remember who it was he had been partying with the night before.

Except for the one voice in the room that woke him from a black out stupor. Landon's yelling made him jolt awake, the motion of course causing the massive headache to hit in full force. Marius just groaned, laying his head back down, "Mate, will you stop yelling? Jesus..." Lying on his back he pulled the blanket over his head. Two seconds passed before he tossed it back off of himself completely, "This thing smells like piss!"

The revelation forced Marius out of the bed, despite the drums in his skull. He realized at once he was in his boxers and a shirt that he was sure wasn't his. The hotel room they were in was definitely the sort of place that charged by the hour, just cheap and in need of a deep scrub. And maybe disinfectant.

Hollywood Parties Were Certainly Not Like Anything He'd Ever Seen Before. Maybe That Was Just Because

Marius just sat back down with a sigh. His gaze made its way to the couch now, finally settled on being fully conscious, and he took in the way Landon was looking at him, "What am I doing here? What are you doing here? ...and where the hell is here anyway??"

Marius Took That Moment, While Landon Rushed Himself To The Bathroom, To Think. To Really Try To Remember.

Marius took that moment, while Landon rushed himself to the bathroom, to think. To really try to remember. He had invited him along, right? He remembered being surprised Landon had said yes without any fight. Marius felt like they were really starting to bond a little, maybe really become friends. Even if his own history with that hasn't always been too good... Though, the situation they're in suggested he fucked things up again.

"Its not a game, Landon. I really don't remember as much as you'd like me to," Marius exhaled a sigh. He stood again, slower this time, and looked around the room. The bright yellow walls made it impossible to think straight. It was like it was meant to make you sick. He walked over to the window and pulled the curtain open to let in some light. When he was immediately met with a dingy looking parking lot, he just let it fall again, "Right... Couple of the others were talking about gambling in Vegas. I remember that much - I was excited, I'd never been before."

He couldn't see his clothes on the floor, which was a bad sign already. He pulled the shirt he was wearing off and threw it aside. It was too tight anyway. Miracle he managed to sleep at all with it on. Stepping back to the bed, Marius got down onto the floor to look underneath it. "Aha!" he grinned, reaching to pull his pants out. Thankfully, it felt like his phone and his wallet were still in them. He took them out and tossed them to the bed to slip the pants on.

Hearing Landon's voice made him look up again, raising an eyebrow, "Weren't you wearing one before?" as he said that, he looked down to notice one on his hand too. Cheap plastic with a painted on gem right in the center. It matched Landons', "...I have one too? I know I wasn't wearing one."

He buttoned his pants and walked over to Landon to compare the rings, "Weird. What, did we get hitched by children or something?" Marius started to laugh, but raised his gaze to meet Landon's as a memory seemed to strike him, "Oh wait - that chapel down the highway from the casino. Suppose we made it there after all. Wow." He just shook his head, not really grasping what that meant as he looked over the plastic ring.

4. “Who are you and what the hell are you doing in my apartment? @ Elias

FIRST MEETING STARTERS // ALWAYS OPEN

4.Who Are You And What The Hell Are You Doing In My Apartment? @ Elias

"Now, that's a bit rude, don't you think, Mr. Wynter? Considering you invited me here and allowed me in."

4.Who Are You And What The Hell Are You Doing In My Apartment? @ Elias

Elias was not concerned by any means about getting caught. Over-prepared as he was, he was more concerned with continuing to survey his surroundings. But, the moment this Landon Wynter popped up, attention was turned completely to him. The young man was upset and angry, as he should be to find a complete stranger in his apartment. But, Elias was able to bring the situation down with the smallest suggestion. He stared directly into Landon's eyes, pushing the thought into his mind.

You let me in, invited me to make myself comfortable. You hadn't expected someone so quickly, no, but you are glad to see me.

He held that eye contact until he was sure the anger would subside enough for the conversation to continue. He broke eye contact, easing on the power to allow Landon's mind to do what the human mind does best - make this make sense. Idly, Elias rubbed at one of his eyes before stepping closer.

He was dressed more casually than he normally would, forgoing a jacket in this warmer weather of the States, but still wore the crisp, white button down and dark slacks, with a dark navy tie. His oxfords made a distinct and sharp sound with each step as he moved closer to Landon.

"I don't normally answer these sorts of calls, but I'm afraid my Archivist is preoccupied at this moment. Elias Bouchard, I am the head of the Magnus Institute in London," he held a hand out to him to shake, "My assistant tells me you've been trying to contact us with little success. I admit, we don't get too many international calls." It wasn't a surprise. Ever since a large chunk of their gathered statements leaked online they'd been contacted by so many wannabe paranormal investigators and ghost enthusiasts just trying to get their fill. It was embarrassing to say the least, but there was something about this Landon Wynter that Elias was happy to take a good, long look at for himself.

It was definitely as bad as he thought. Landon might have been trying to hide it, but Josh could see it. If he hadn’t known what was going on, he might have been able to write off as nothing major, but... It was all anyone could really talk about. Even if he tried to stay out of the drama, he saw it in all his classes.

He shifted his bag from his shoulder as he moved to sit beside Landon, exhaling a sigh. He looked down for a moment, leaning forward onto his knees, “It’s okay to be upset, you know,” he raised his eyes to look over Landon’s face, studying him for another moment before he continued, “You were hurt. Break ups are never easy no matter what the situation is.”

Josh paused another second before just giving a smile and gently nudging Landon’s arm, “You should know best how quick gossip moves. Just gotta hope for the next big thing to come along quick, right?”

Elias Reached Out To Shake His Hand, Giving A Little Nod, "It's Quite Alright, I Understand A Hefty Workload.

Elias reached out to shake his hand, giving a little nod, "It's quite alright, I understand a hefty workload. Even though I'd imagine my own is a bit more academic than your own," he gave a little laugh, something to lighten the mood a bit. This Landon Wynter was certainly eager for his work. Elias could see that clearly in him, as well as the daring adventurer he had a tendency to be. Fearless? No, not entirely. There was a clear mark on him, one Elias felt might have been the Stranger, but... Also something else. Something - recent.

Then he looked away. Elias followed his gaze towards the unassuming hallway. The energy was definitely there, he just couldn't place a finger of what exactly it was. Here in the United States, most areas were under influence by the Buried, the weight of their world and the economy weighing heavy on everyone, crushing them and their spirits. It was definitely strongest in certain cities. Here was no different, even though Landon seemed under a different sort of influence.

"There is nothing wrong with a healthy dose of scepticism," Elias turned his eyes back to Landon, observing his every thought and movement, watching for whatever this experience was he had in greater detail, "After all, no one is brought up to believe everything they hear. They are conditioned. But, I can assure you, there is a fair amount of things that are purely psychological. In which case - I would not be of any use. We at the institute deal only in true paranormal experiences. No dreams or visions. So, if you have something of use..."

image

He paused, considering his words for a moment, before just breaking out into a smile once more. Elias moved to the couch, beckoning Landon to follow, and set his bag on the floor beside him. From there, he reached down to pull out an old tape recorder. He made sure there was a blank tape in there before looking up to Landon again, "Perhaps I will let you interview me for a story. But, before that, I would like to hear your experiences. And record them, if you don't mind. If it genuine, it will be good for my people to study."

Without even giving Landon a chance to object, he pushed record, "Statement of Landon Wynter, regarding some experiences he has had. Recorded directly from subject 28th of July. Whenever you're ready."
