Your nose bleeding and the heat getting you at the worst as you tried your best to drag yourself .

Empty stomach was not helping you at all. Tripped and fall down your senses giving out , your eyes closing last things you saw two stilthoute coming towards you. One last time you prayed to God to let them be humans... Not some dead walking monster, even if it was hard .

Victor was glaring at his colleague Julien as Julien carried the unconscious girl inside their underground bunker. A frown appearing on his handsome face. He huffed and return to their room. He and Julien had already argued not to let anyone in after last time when a women begged and they let her in .... only for her to try to kill them which they avoided due to the cameras.

They already has talked about that they would not let anyone in, and their higher ups has also warned them about this... As they don't know what the stranger would bring inside the lab space. Supply of water and other things.... You told the blond that you will work for them... If they let you stay but he only smiled.

And told you he will talk to "victor" which you assume was the other man. Later that night you heard them arguing.

"You don't even know her Julien!! You don't know what filth she is carrying with her. You may gamble your safety in hopes to fuck a cheap pussy like hers but I'll never!"

The said Julien frowns.

They woke up by the sound of the main door operating to open Victor curse under his breath saying it's probably you try to backstab them but when they reached out they found the door closing back again. He don't know what happened victor ran to the cctv room to check the cctv footage of the front camera of their place.

There he saw you bowing to the camera and walking away , hands empty. Not long after that Julien came to him panting.

"Vic...she... She is gone... She left... God knows where... I... Need to find her back..."

He tried to open his mouth but was quited by Julien...

"Why can't you be a little more open??? If she died... It's your fault!!"

Julien stormed to their changing room where he was changing into outing gears and without a word victor started to dress up too.. they tried to look for you but it seems like you just disappeared into thin air in that one hour. They had to return empty handed and devastated.

It has been four months till they lost you. They were out inthe nearby town to take some samples for virus and other essentials. They were in the middle of the town and they thought they would leave before the sunset but right after they were finished and got back into their jeep the jeep refused to start.

Troubled they tried best , the drowning sun and the increasing darkness and the loud noises of the zombies that were growling from far was not making anything better. They are last resorted to get out of the jeep and hide in the nearby building which was an abandoned mall as it could possibly still have some necessity items that they can use as well as hide.

They desperately seek refuge in an abandoned mall, breaking through a side entrance and barricading the doors behind them. Inside, the mall is eerily quiet, with only the distant sounds of the undead outside. As they explore, they come across various stores and makeshift barricades, evidence that others had once taken shelter there.

The place looked like touched with life ... As the essential were not thrown but were neatly stocked. Fearing that they broke the side entrance bare for the zombies they were still pondering what to do when they heard footsteps. They hide in the grocery section when they heard a sweet voice...

"You can come out I'll not harm you guys.."

They both pondered until a small stature human came in front of them all clad in black a mask on face and a steel rod in hands .Julien was still covering victor when he heard victor mumble something.. and before Julien would have asked victor threw himself to hug the person.

The person in return was stunned . After they pulled away , they pulled the mask down and Julien was able to recognise her... It's was her...Their nightangle.... She lost so much weight... Her face now sunken.. the chubby cheeks not chubby anymore. He wanted to ask so many questions same as Victor who looked hurt by her pulling away.

"Let's go to my apartment...it's upstairs you are safe here.."

She said as she started to walk into the direction of stairs .. not before she locked the big sliding metal door from the area in which they broke in. They looked guilty but she smiled reassuring them.

"It's ok... That was not the main gate anyway .. I have lots of material and things so I can built another gate..."

She said as she was opening another big metal door which looked impermeable by entering code. They were in awe , these things are not way parts of a normal mall, and she said she can make another gate . So these all were made by her???

Soon they entered a full floor filled with neatly placed essential and furnitures. It was not as luxurious as their bunker cabins or underground lab..but it was what they can call home ... It was what if seen by normal people can be called a heaven. The kitchen on the right , the washroom, they can see three rooms .

The drawing room was spacious and in the corner of it was the full monitoring setup. The monitors and cctv footage playing on it. Victor clicked the key board and he saw the cameras where covering the whole area, including the area where they left the jeep.

"Oh... I found you two were here from that...."

You said softly to them as you were busy to cook something and finding clothes for them. You gave both of them towels and ushered them to the washroom. You where looking at them and they looked confused?? But you didn't said anything. In the washroom there was a dark silence. Only the of hot water steam and the sound of water dripping.

And you took them in like they were the most important people for you without thinking twice.. they came out of the washroom wearing the tshirts and pajamas you left for them on the counter. It was nothing fancy but soul filling.. you jumped off the chair after they were done eating and gathered the utensils so fastly that they looked you at awe. Their heart pumping when they remembered how you tried to take the plates to wash when you were at their bunker.

Victor feeling sick of himself... Remembering how he was grumbling about using ointment on you when Julien was patching you up in the past. You softly called his name for him to break from his chain of thoughts. you told them to wash their hands , so that you can take them to their room they will be sleeping in..

Julien tried to insist to wash the dishes but you only smiled and that was enough to make him shut. They know you are not like them... You would not throw them out in danger... But still it made them feel guilty. You soon took them to the master bedroom . They were hit with remorse but you told them that this room only had the biggest bed so none can do.

Before you shut the door victor asked you..

He was trembling and your eyes soften even more, you sat on the end of the bed to hug him. After a while when he got stable you exchanged names and you told them that it was ok as for you whose own brother kicked you out they were like God who took you in.. so you can't blame them. Next day was really busy as you three got to their jeep and you fixed it... Then at the time of their departure they showed their worry that their gps and monitor is not working... And you told them that you can show them the way.. as you took out your bike and took them to their bunker them following you with unknown happy expression.

You reached the gate of their underground lab and When you told them that you are returning they asked you to stay with them , on which you denied saying you like being alone and you worked a lot for your place.. they asked you to wait a bit for a friendly tea .. they looked so sad when you denied their previous request that you stayed.

Julien was talking to you when victor brought you tea. You drank while talking as they where solely staring at you . You where feeling uncomfortable so you stood up to leave but your eyes grew heavy and you stumbled victor and Julien got to you and you passed out in their arms.

Victor told you that you have gotten infected but your metabolism was strong so your body is still fighting the virus. And that you have to stay with them for a while.. they have been so good to you . They won't let you help or work around the house at all.

Victor had told you that the cure he has found is not perfect and that it has side effects but he had insisted that they both can help you with the side effects if they act up. And you were glad for it. They would take you out for stroll so that you won't feel locked up .
