DCxDP fan fic Idea: Danny Fenton's Ex

Danny wants to know that he did not go looking for a fight. He merely wanted to have some of the best hot dogs this side of the USA, in Tucker's words. The human world had changed a lot across differnt timelines but his best friend had assure him, this one was particually tasty.

He planned to pop in, hunt down the street cart filled with buns and meat, then pop out of Gotham. He was meant to visit for less than an hour at most.

He just happened to be at the wrong place and time. It really wasn't his fault! Danny had been minding his own business, using a paper map on the edge of a tall building (his phone had broken in the last ghost fight. Not that it would do any good since it wasn't connected to any living towers), squinting at the streets below, hoping to figure out where he was. The next thing he knew, an angry child leaped out at him with a sword.

Of course, he defended himself! The kid was doing some insane slashes in the air, and Danny had fought enough samurai ghosts to know not to underestimate how powerful a katana indeed was. He had been able to beat the child, encasing his arms in ecto-chains, after a full half hour of combat.

Danny had been dead tired- pun not intended- but just as he thought he was done, a second child had leaped out at him. This one carrying a bo-staff. It took another thirty minutes to beat this one, and just as he was gearing up for a lecture, a third child appeared.

She was wearing all purple and seemed to favor strong kicks. Danny had the bruise to prove it, but just as he could take her down—and stop the other two from escaping since they were attempting to do so—he was attacked by an actual shadow and her red bucket-head friend.

Now, those two were difficult to beat, especially when it was two vs. one. Shadow reacted as if she could predict all of his moves before he even made them, while Bucket Head made incredible shots with his guns covering her attacks.

Danny had already been expelled from his other two fights, so it was a miracle he was able to trick Shadow by allowing more of Phantom to bleed into his fighting style. She couldn't predict the dead!

He ended up on a roof with five children- okay, more like a child, two teenagers, and what could be the early twenties, but they were all young to him. Each was tied up securely with some of his own ecto-chains and glaring- he could feel the hate in their eyes even behind their masks- trying desperately to catch his breath.

"Oh boy, I'm not as young as I used to be. " He gasps between huffs. Maybe Sam was on to something when she lectured them for not having enough greens, normal exercise routines, or even taking vitamins. They really weren't teenagers anymore. "Ugh, I think I pulled something. I need to lie down..."

Just as Danny is allowing himself to slide to the floor, two more shadows jump at him. This time he's far too tired to dodge, and the blue one manages to land a drop kick to his chin. The force has Danny spinning in place, losing his balance, and slamming hard against the roof.

The tied-up children cheer, and if he wasn't a walking bruise right now, Danny would be half tempted to show them all a round two.

"Great Gatsby!" He cries out of reflex, rolling onto his back, ready to take a swing-

"Danny?" a new familiar voice cuts in. The sound is something Danny will never forget, even after all the years they have been apart. He used to fall asleep to that voice, muttering into his hair and warm arms wrapped around him, making promises never kept.

Danny whips his head around to see a man in a bat costume. He squits, studying the strong curve of a very familiar jaw and his voice-

"Wayne?" He blinks. Those lips- so familiar and different all in one- curve into a surprise, but please smile. Yes, that is definitely Bruce.

"Danny, I haven't seen you since-"

"You broke up with me through a letter on the hotel note-pad? A note-pad that I had to pay for since you touched it!?" Danny hisses, suddenly energized with pure, unadulterated rage. The man freezes.

"I, uh, see you're still upset about that." Wayne winces, shuffling on his feet- Bruce Wayne, the little human he found wandering the Infinite Realms, rescued, helped, trained, and had become human again to have the man dump him to "find himself."

Danny knew he found a lot of ladies on his self-discovery trip. He never forgave him. It has been embarrassing to have to return to the Realms to his friends' knowing eyes and his sister's sad shrug.

You knew a human could never understand or live with beings like us. We aren't like them anymore. She had told him. It was bond to end in disaster.

"What is happening?" The bow-staff kid asks

"I don't know, but I don't like it," Blue tells him.

Danny ignores them to glare at the man. "What the hell are you doing here, Wayne?"

Wayne frowns. "You used to call me Bruce."

"I used to do a lot of things, Wayne." Danny stands, gesturing to the group of people he has captured. "Can you kindly disappear again? I'm in the middle of something."

The man makes no move to leave. Instead, he tilts his head. "Those are my children."

"Of course they are." Danny rolls his eyes. "Tell them to not attack innocent tourists-"

"Are you here on vacation? Would you like me to give you a tour?"

The familiar words- the ones from their first date- make rage boil in his core. "Oh, go burn in the worst levels of hell!"

He doesn't stick around for a reply, twisting in a tight circle and ripping a hole into the Realms. He ignores Wayne's call of his name; it's too late- fifteen years too late- and shifts back into Phantom.

He prays he never sees that deadbeat again. Or the family his wife gave him. Not that Danny cares; it's been years, and he could care less what Bruce Wayne and his stupid kin got up to.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

"Bruce, I say this with all my heart, what the fuck was that?"

"That was the one I let get away."

There is a moment of silence before Damian speaks up. "I demand to be taken out of my misery. Mercy, kill me now, Drake."

I am being so serious when I say: if you have the financial and time privilege to get a group of friends together and make an indie project, PLEASE do. Indie games, indie animations, indie comics etc etc

the art industries are kind of in the shitter. It’s not so much because of AI (though that doesn’t help) but because studios just aren’t hiring people and funding projects anymore. People who’ve been in the industry for decades are finding themselves struggling, and once you have a mortgage or kids it’s harder to do something as risky as making something on your own.

completing projects is hard. it takes a lot of time and effort, and most people can’t afford it. so if you CAN afford to make art, even at the risk of no financial gain, I strongly encourage you to be as resilient as you can. We’re at a point where these industries are not going to turn around by themselves, and waiting for jobs to open up again in order to get experience and portfolio work might not be realistic.

people have been making art and telling stories longgggg before we were getting paid for it, and people aren’t going to stop just because no one has hired them to do so.

for everyone else: support indie artists when you can!!!! That person who made that cool indie game or youtube animation or webcomic might be doing this full time! your support might be the only reason they’re able to keep doing it.

and if you have already started an indie project: you’re so brave and I’m very proud of you!!! in fact, drop a link to it in the reblogs if you want! 👇

Say no to this, Bruce.

A few days ago Bruce had a fight with his sons, now he doesn't even remember why, it was probably something stupid that escalated and he didn't know how to stop it, it was probably his fault.

He was alone at the mansion, Damian was at Dick's house, Jason was ignoring him more than usual and Tim was on a case where he didn't want help, not from him at least, even Duke was away, it wasn't a good week for Bruce.

He grabbed a phone he had hidden and only took out before going to sleep alone in his room, hesitated for a few seconds and sent a message to the only number added.

His "thing" with the boy, Danny Fenton, had started four years ago, the boy was lost and Bruce found him when he coincidentally went for a walk as a civilian.

Danny was so charmed by Bruce (for some reason) that he gave him his hotel room number to keep talking about the universe, and later his home number.

Danny was a good, funny and witty kid, a very smart too, with parents who didn't deserve him because they didn't notice their son's brilliance.

Danny was a good boy with a not-so-good life, a strong, independent boy who wasn't always positive but didn't always let himself fall apart.

That's why when Danny answered his message with a call with him crying and asking for help, he could only go to his rescue without looking back, barely remembering to tell Alfred of his departure.

When he arrived he found only tragedy.

His family and friends had died, an explosion at an unfortunate time, Danny had no one in the world besides his godfather and Bruce, and he didn't want to fall into Vlad's clutches, so he was desperate.

He also told him about Phantom, and Bruce could only hug him and promise him that no one was going to find him.

The first thing that came to his mind was to take him to his mansion, Danny was like his son, it was the most logical action... except that Danny still looked up to him and trusted him a lot, and wasn't that a scary thought?

Bringing Danny to the mansion would involve many things, Danny would meet his children, which might make Danny see him differently, goodbye to his admiration and affection, goodbye to spending time "together" watching bad movies to criticize them, goodbye to quiet conversations and asking for advice, goodbye to trust.

Bringing Danny to the mansion would mean having him physically close but keeping him away in every other possible way.

"Danny doesn't want anyone else to know about Phantom." Bruce repeated to himself as he took Danny to a small, hidden apartment in Gotham, a cozy little place where Vlad wouldn't find Danny (and neither would Bruce's family).

Real quick, I just want to say that Danny Phantom only being seen during ghost fights is a little funny because imagine there being this ghost kid in your town defending everyone and himself from other ghosts who are almost always bigger than him, but as soon as he notices someone nearby or someone tries to talk to him, he vanishes and runs away. A lot of people think he had social anxiety or something when he was alive, or maybe he’s scared of humans because of ghost hunters, so most people don’t go looking for him.

One day a kid decides to leave a note at a park. The note was for Phantom, thanking him for saving a relative of the kid’s. To everyone’s surprise, Phantom leaves a reply for the next day. Here’s an example.

To Phantom,

Thank you so so so so so much for saving my dad today!!! I was so scared that he was going to get really really hurt, but you saved him!!! Mom and dad both say you don’t like talking to people because there are bad people who want to hurt you, so I’m leaving you this note! I hope you see it! Oh, and my mom and dad say thanks too!! I hope you have an amazing day and stay safe from the bad people!!

From Alex

To Alex,

Your very welcome! Honestly, I was scared your dad was going to get hurt too, but I’m glad to hear he’s doing well now. It’s true, there are bad people, but I’m happy that there are also good people who appreciate me trying to help. Thank you for not trying to find me and instead leaving the note. I appreciate it! Hope you have a great day too!

P.S. Would you mind keeping this letter between you and your parents please? Reading this really warmed my heart core, but I really don’t want to suddenly have a ton of notes all over the park. I might be so busy trying to reply, I probably won’t get any sleep. And yes, some ghosts do need sleep.

From Phantom

One of my favorite parts of my Halfa Jazz AU is when Danny starts to trust Jack and Maddie. For those who don’t understand, Danny isn’t their son and was distrusting of them at first because of their inventions and jobs as ghost hunters. They at first wanted to be able to communicate with him because he’s a halfa like their daughter and knows more about this situation than them, but he kept leaving whenever he saw them getting too close. With some help from Jazz and a few good ol’ fashioned “helping in a fight” situations, Danny started to trust them more.

An AU where Bruce is a Meta, but his power lets him see a persons potential for becoming a villain. So no, this man is not just collecting children he is collecting children with the highest potential of burning the world to the ground successfully. He never tells anyone this, and while he can’t always curb there more…feral intentions, his kids respect him enough to not break most of his bigs rules.

It is a miracle among miracles that when Bruce got lost in the time stream the only one who really went off the rails was Tim. When Bruce returns he sits down with Tim and asks about his six months. What happened. I want to know what all you did to rescue me because you are my son and I love you but you shouldn’t have had to suffer alone.

Reluctantly Tim admits to teaming up with the LoA but also that he systematically demolished it from the inside out and garnered enough unintentional support due to his own normal charisma that half the remaining assassins jumped ship and settled under his leadership. He doesn’t really have plans for them outside of establishing a more thorough global information network.

Tim uses the empty shell of Drake industries to create a support network for the ninja’s under his care. He doesn’t know what they were paid before but if they’re working for Tim he’s giving them benifits and a paycheck. It helps that everyone thinks Drake Industries went under. What doesn’t help is that during his cataloging of company assets after his parents pass he learns his parents found a heaping chunk of kryptonite and now Luthor is trying to buy the company.

Dick is the one who actually does something about it after Lex sent one too many assassins after his little brother. He doesn’t kill Lex, but he and Barbra team up cause so much chaos to his company that he can’t focus on little Timmy at all or else he’ll fall to chaos. Yes some labs were blown up (Dicks work and probably some family bonding time with Damian or Jason). Barbra leaks all of their secrets to the web. It’s a PR nightmare.

Duke low key kinda ran a cult, which is a concern of its own, and Bruce is trying to make sure Duke and his totally not cult buddies have healthy normal teenager outlets to do stuff.

Steph while not officially part of the family is still on the radar because she spiked Bruces meter and also her dads a rogue. Like obviously Steph hates her dad but Bruce isn’t gonna let her stick around on the off chance Cluemaster see’s Steph as an asset and uses some chemical to make her comply. If Steph falls, Tim will probably fall and if Tim falls the dick will likely follow, and if Dick falls Damian will be right by his side.

Jason’s meter chilled out somehow when he came back, despite how angry he was when he came back, but there was still a healthy risk. So Bruce let’s him keep free reign of crime alley and makes him switch to rubber bullets and provides the support he can.

Damian was probably the lowest on the scale. At his core he’s a Soldier. Skilled yes, but he follows orders. He’s prideful, yes, but once given the opportunity to be a kid (and an outlet for the training he was raised with) that meter kinda just mellows out. Not to say Damian wasn’t pinging Bruces Radar, he just wasn’t pinging it as much as Dick and Tim always do.

Janet and Jack Drake find something at one of their digs that the League of Assassins is really interested in. So, being smart business people they broker an agreement.

The Drakes would cough over this and other artifacts they find that the league is interested so long as they take in Timothy Drake and teach him in their ways.

Which when you think about it sounds insane, but it’s coming from a place of love. Don’t think that this is the Drakes trying to pawn Tim off on someone else. They expect to get their son back and they will raise hell and high heaven in Ra’s so much as tries to keep their son from them.

The next question is why they want their son to become a killer to which Janet answers that “we want our son to know how to kill if he needs to. If I’ve raised him right then he certainly won’t need to dirty his hands to get the results he wants, but I’ll be damned if my son can’t protect himself as heir to the Drake name.”

So for whatever reason this pans out. The Drakes return home, explain what’s going to happen to Tim, and Tim’s all for it. He’s like 9 and wants to be able to stalk the bats better and if he can defend himself then he can probably follow them into more dangerous scenarios and get some really awesome action shots.

So Tim goes to train, and it’s very clear early on that Tim’s speciality lies with his brain. Yes he picks up on martial arts quickly, but he is also a genius, so his studies are adjusted to meet his needs.

Because of this, Ra’s thinks it’s a brilliant idea to have Tim meet his heir (Talia also thinks socialization will be a good thing for both kids since they will both be in positions of leadership and socialization abilities are important).

This was everyone’s first mistake. Tim and Damian are the same type of chaos in different colors. Where Tim had the advantage on planning operations, Damian has the skill to pull them off.

Do they regularly steal desserts from the kitchens? Yes. Can anyone realistically pin it on them? Absolutely not.

One time, while trying to foster both their stealth abilities, they came up with a game of paint tag. They both had a paint marker and they systematically swept through the cradle pinning anyone and everyone.

It was terrifying for all involved because the Demon kids where quick and quiet. They came out of nowhere and marked you.

During Tim’s time in training he would return home or fly to wherever his parents were currently visiting for Holidays. Most of the time he could convince Talia to let Damian join him. Naturally if Damian left there was an unseen escort/body gaurs that trailed them but it was whatever. Tim and Damian made a game out of seeing who could spot their guards the most.

Eventually Tim’s training came to an end. He did need to return to Gotham. After some farewells (and promises to keep in touch. Tim would hack the league if he didn’t hear from Damian enough fuck you Ra’s) Tim was home. He had a house sitter essentially, for when his parents were gone. She stopped in every day, made sure Tim had food and cooked for him if he wanted her to (although his league training had taught him cooking surprisingly), but at night he wouldnt have anyone watching and he was back out stalking the bats.

Tim was their when Garzona’s fell off the roof to his death. He has a perfect series of shot showing Jason diving to try to save him, not pushing him off, and they end up dropped off by a a courier anonymously. With proof, Bruce sits down and talks to Jason. A real heart to heart moment that results in Jason not dying in Ethiopia.

This means that Tim most likely does not become Robin, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t do anything. He eventually establishes himself as an informant, hacking into the bat computer to change the background into photographic evidence Tim gathered they need for a case. he also leaves really large folders in the middle of the screen full of files and also full of the cold cases he solves because he’s bored and already finished high school via online education.

Tim obviously still photographs the bats and with his league training he’s never caught. That is until the newest Robin shows up. It’s a couple of years later. Tim’s thriving, he goes back to the cradle on occasion until he receives a warning from Talia that he can’t return. Says she and Damian are going Dark and that she’ll reach out when she can.

Of course Tim is upset. He’s looking up league business and realizes that theres been an attempt of a coup. A sad attempt but an attempt all the same. He’s just happy that Damian is apparently safe.

So one night he’s out doing his night photography when a new vigilante hits the scene. Phoenix. And yup, that’s definitely the old Robin, Jason Todd, but then where’s the new Robin?

Tim had been following the bats on patrol taking action shots when he was tackled from behind by someone in the all familiar traffic light colors of Robin. As disoriented as he was, tim took the hit, rolling as he cradled his camera to protect it, and used his legs to launch his assailant off of him. He rolled onto his knees ready to fight or flee until his eyes landed on the person across from him.

“You’ve gotten Rusty, Drake.” Damian fucking Al Ghul taunts, that oh so familiar patronizing smirk on his face. Tim gaped because whyyy was his demon twin here? In Gotham? And patrolling as Robin?

Before Tim could gather his Witt’s about him a shadow fell over him and, yup. There was Batman.

He ended up in the cave at the end of the night, thoroughly confused but relieved when Damian took off his mask and throw his arms around Tim in a hug, one the older teen eagerly returned.

“Talia said you were going dark after the coup.”

“Mother believed it best I continue my training with my father.” And wasn’t this just a night full of whiplash huh. Tim leered at Bruce studying his face and yup…he could see it now that he was actually looking for it.

“And I thought my parents were absentee,” he joked, earning a trademarked huff from Damian and a offended/concerned grunt from Bruce.

Damian eventually gets around to explaining Tim, introducing him as his “brother from the league.” Bruce is both confused and concerned about the fact that Tim’s parents just…left him with the league of assassins for over a year. Like what?

Tim kinda just shrugs it off. His families always been a little weird. Oddity is how they show love or something. Either way…Tim pulls a flash drive out of his pocket and placed it by the bat computer. “Since I’m already here I might as well drop off the photos from the Crewel case. I caught them talkng business in the bar off 7th, there’s photos and a document of what I overheard. Figured it might help you connect some dots. Also there’s another batch of solved cold cases for you to look into.”

And now it was Bruces turn to experience relentless whiplash because not only was their mysterious informant like…15 years old, he also lives next door.

Exasperated Father Bruce Wayne invites Tim up to the manor for post patrol snacks so he can digest all of this new information.

Later he calls Jack and Janet and ask them with a long suffering drawn out “whyyy?” Jack dies laughing in the background and Janet humms in amusement.

“I take it you’ve finally discovered his stalking tendencies?”

“And how long has he been doing this?”

“Longer than I care to admit. Listen Brucie, Tim’s a smart kid. A genius really. As much as I wish I could make him stop sometimes, it’s not possible. He’s as stubborn as I am on a bad day, so instead of trying to stop him Jack and I decided that we would do whatever we could make sure he can keep himself safe.”

“Ah…we should start a club,” he decides, remember how Dick had been when Bruce had first adopted him. “I know you’re both In Egypt. Would you be opposed to him staying at the manor. As it turns out my Biological son and Tim know each other from the league.”

“Of course Brucie. Please let us know if we need to wire you any funds for his stay. Tim has access to our accounts of course, but no matter how much we try he’s always so frugal about how he spends it. And if he decides to dress up in spandex and join your little crusade you better at least warn us.”

“Of course Janet. I’ll keep an eye on them.”

“Oh and Bruce? Good luck! From what I heard Tim and Damian were quite the Terrors when they worked together.”

So, I’ve been reading quite a few TCF reaction fics lately and something I’ve noticed about all of these tics is that they all say Cale managed to take the war against the white star from 20 to 2 years and you know what? They’re wrong.

Cale had 2 years to prepare for the war with the north and as he’s running around he finds out a bit about arm and what they’re doing but not their purpose. This man finds out about the crazy stuff the white radish and the sealed b*tch have been doing only after the war with the northern alliance happens. You know how long it takes him to deal with all that?

A YEAR! One mother f*ck*ng year! Raon isn’t even 7 yet! This man Thales 20 years of war and terror and pain and suffering and deals with the problem in one f*ck*ng year. Sure he collected most of his allies and strengths in those first 2 years but Cale was still pretty much working blind when it came to the white radish and his plots.

People, you think 2 years is impressive? This man really did most of it in one and our beloved fool was in an entirely different dimension for 3 months of that year. Cale is legitimately terrifying and these fics are not giving him enough credit.

I refuse to believe after all the office raids that the Port Mafia, especially the Black Lizards aren't absolutely fucking terrified of Kenji.

Okay but Odasaku saying "there's a saying in the Port Mafia, the greatest misfortune for Dazai's enemies. Is that they are Dazai's enemies."

Kinda parallels Kunikida saying "there's a saying in Yokohama, you must never anger Kenji."
