Doing some more Surface Bound Lore drops and such on a whim as I do. I held a poll in the Slugterra Wiki Discord server to decide which character to do for Surface Bound next; Shadow Clan won!

So here's the residents of the Shadow Woods at the edge of Darefield's town limit. They use bark, deer skulls and pelts to camouflage themselves. Their legs and faces resemble deer far more than their monkey-like Slugterrian cousins. During the day, they slumber in a cave that only shadows may creep through (or a small enough child/teen)

Many fear going into these woods due to the urban tale told among parents and children on the playground. "If you enter the woods during the dead of night when the moon is at its peak in the sky... the forest speaks. It calls. It sings. It lures you deeper and deeper, green and cyan eyes piercing through the darkness to watch your trembling steps. Soon you stumble upon an old cabin. There they take you away and eat you alive. Given to the head of the creatures, one that appears of human and shadow creature mix."

Nowadays, that cabin appears to be the headquarters for a group of Cryptid Researchers, having mistaken these creatures for other folklore legends.

Week 1. Picked Ayla for the event. She traded a few grapes for the ticket. Grapes in the Middle eastern cavern are larger compared to the common ones, almost the size of a hand.

Suit design

I decided to update Specimen 4's outfit from a complicated to a simpler design, so it's easier to draw.

The outfit has secret pockets, up to six.

Her outfit can change color from cold bluish gray (Polychromus Payne's gray. Left.) to regular grey (Polychromus cold gray VI. Right.) depending on her environment.

For the reason why, well, the Mutants (Specimen 4's kind) do possess advanced tech, so they would create suits that can change colors depending on the environment where the missions take place, plus be highly durable, for their combatants.

The other stuff on the top right of the images is to show her age, height, gender, and nationality.

And why is she flipping off the viewer? Well, it's because we're human, and she despises humans...so yeah.

Body design

How Specimen 4's body looks like.

I went with the pear-shaped/triangle body type.

She has multiple life-threatening scars because of her occupation but survives them like it's nothing.

I changed the spider limb segments from six to seven.

I changed the markings on her eyes since I couldn't get a consistent design for it, so I went with a simpler look by just having four tear marks on each side of her face.

And that's it.

PSA: BAD LITTERBOX

i don't usually make posts like this, but this is a truly upsetting topic to me as a lifelong cat owner, so i feel i have a duty to share my knowledge with others.

there is a type of automatic litterbox for cats being sold that is EXTREMELY dangerous and has killed numerous cats through blunt force trauma, suffocation, etc. this litterbox is being sold under different brand names and logos, so i will include the picture of the model and two links to informational videos with more evidence and eloquence than i am able to provide.

please consider not having this type of litterbox in your home for your furry friends. me and my 16 year old tortie, puddy, want the best for all your kitty friends

Specimen 4/Kali'tute: "You Bitches aren't sacrificing shit!"

In context: Kali has to babysit a newborn baby Na'vi for some acquaintance who has to run an errand quickly, but she's annoyed by four Baworts from her world.

The Baworts on the Image are based on different types of Orchids. Purple Bawort - Vanda Orchid

Red Bawort - Red Cymbidium Orchid

Pink Bawort - Cattleya Orchid

Yellow Bawort - Brassia Orchid

I've been thinking of redesigning Specimen 4's outfit. So far I managed to design how the outfit would look like, I had to look up images of sci-fi, hero, and military suits/attires until I came up with how her new outfit would look like in my head.

Her outfit is stealth and combat-based. It has to be light for her to move around with ease, but also durable enough to not break and tear. The outfit does have secret pockets, up to six, because pockets are Hella important. 

The color-picking process was a bit difficult since I had a hard time trying to pick what shade of gray the outfit would have. I experimented with different tones of Gray, using Cold Gray VI and Payne's Gray.

So far, I like 1 and 3, though 3 could be slightly darker.

She could use both 1 and 3. 

Like, She uses outfit color 1 for mountains, rocky terrains, forests, etc. 

And She uses outfit color 3 for jungles, big cities, etc. 

She would still keep in the shadows and be well hidden of course.

I imagine Specimen 4 would have multiple of the same outfits with different shades of colors depending on the environment of the places she goes to. Or she would have one outfit that can change color by a press of a hidden button.

Now that I think about it, she would have an outfit that could switch colors. She would have more than one pair of the same outfit in case the first one tears, breaks, etc.

The Specimens and the semi-humanoid Mutants would possess combat outfits that could change color depending on the environment they're in. The Mutants' tech is highly advanced, far more advanced than human tech, so color-changing outfits would likely exist.

Color-changing outfits aren't new, example the heroes in the Young Justice series have been seen with their outfits changing color by a press of a button if I remember correctly.

The Sky Angel (sketch)

A short story I have in mind.

King of the Air making an alliance with the Queen of Fire.

I experimented with both coloring pens and watercolor pens to blend the colors on the drawing and it turned out okay so far.

I was going to upload this drawing with a story in mind, but I decided to upload the drawing now. Once I get around to writing the story I will edit the descriptions, it's gonna be long, but for now, here's the art.

How Kali'tute (Specimen 4) is like with:

Humans:

She hates humans, only seeing them as pests and cattle. She will only kill the ones who are guilty, bad, and/or who attacked her. Never kills innocent ones. She will also kill if she feels Really hungry.

With Na'vi:

She'll avoid Na'vi. Why should she even bother to interact with them if she is going to stay on Pandora temporarily to do her hunt? She will just stay as far away from any Na'vi as possible. Even if a na'vi tries to get close to her, she won't let them get too close, she will be aloof to them.

She will attack any Na'vi who tries to attack her as a way to defend herself. She won't kill them, just give them a few scratches and broken bones as a warning.

This is just a way to show how Kali is with humans and Na'vi.

I decided to do digital art, I haven't done that in a while.

Now I didn't use Sketchbook or any other sort of art apps. I used the notebook app instead.

Sure, Notes has a drawing feature on it, but it doesn't have a layering system since it's a Note app, not an Art app. So, it took me a while to figure things out.

Anyhow, it was fun to experiment notebook, and the doodle drawings did turn out okay in the end.

I'm still trying to learn to draw Na'vi facial structure.

Two sketches of Specimen 4.

She's gonna have a slight triangle-shaped body.

The second sketch is to show off the scars she has received over the years from her work.

More of the Na'vi and Mutant hybrid offspring.

Btw, The siblings are eating an unlucky soldier.

Here's what Adult Zambak's body would look like. I'm happy with the anatomy and how it turned out, but I should have made her a bit curvier.

Originally I was going to censor her privates since she's nude, but it's not even that explicit since there's no pap, V, and hole.

Anyhow, In her adult years, Zambak will gain a few scars on her body because of her occupation. Some life-threatening, but she managed to survive it all like it was nothing to worry about.

I even drew a mask she would wear, which is inspired by the feral predator from the movie: Prey.

Moodboard inspiration for Pyro's design and character.

Note: This is my first time making a mood board for a character of mine, so it's not that great, but at least I tried.

Now Pyro's design and character take inspiration from different things that are on the mood board.

The Design: The dragon, salamander, blue and red fire images.

Pyro will, of course, be a fire/lava elemental, and his design will take inspiration from dragons, salamanders, and fire. Dragons have always been the go-to creature for fire/lava elements in shows, books, movies, etc. Salamanders are also associated with fire because of myths and old beliefs.

The character: Friend group and adventure images.

Pyro is the type of person who loves adventure and likes to explore beyond the territories of his kingdom, but because of this thing he loves to do so much, the other fire elementals don't want to be associated/friends with him because of that for two reasons.

The First reason is that, why yes, adventuring is good since it brings benefits to the individual and kingdom. But, as long as you do it within the kingdom it's fine, Not outside the kingdom. But Pyro does it outside and has been caught either trying to slip outside or already across the territory.

The second reason is that Pyro goes to dangerous places for the thrill and without worry, which can put a person in danger if he ever brings someone along.

So, Pyro wants to desperately have friends, people who are like him (But still different) who want to break from their mundane activities that only make them feel trapped and gloomy. He doesn't want to stay in one place forever and miss out, he wants to go out and seek new things, but he doesn't want to do it all alone.

Swamp elementals (Khyrtyqs) have many ways of showing love to their partner.

Some craft gifts, others cook, but one way of showing love is to hunt for prey.

Some even go out to hunt for bigger prey to show how much they love someone. The bigger the prey, the bigger the love.

Of course, they will eat their prey, they don't waste the meat.

Real Name: Hazal Vadi

Occupation: Beastforge worker (formerly), Travelling mechanic. Reporter.

Slugs: Felis (Flopper), Parla (Phosphoro), Swoop (Hoverbug), Flare (Flaringo), and Char (Forgesmelter).

Backstory:

Lizzie grew up in Grime City and lived there until she turned 16 and left. She later began to work at Beastforge, but she only wanted to enhance her mechanic skills further before going solo and becoming a traveling mechanic.

But that's just a cover story she tells to Slugterran residents, tricking them into believing she is also a resident of Slugterra as well.

In reality, she's from the Middle Eastern cavern. She grew up in a village valley where she was taught the basic mechanic stuff by her dad.

Around age 18, The Bright clan leader (Alamafruz) chose Hazal to send over to Slugterra and report on what's been going on there, what has changed, etc.

When she traveled to Slugterra, the only slugs she had with her were Felis (Flopper) and Parla (Phosphoro).

After a year passed living in Slugterra, during which Hazal changed her name to Lizzie to fit among the residents.

She collected three more slugs, Swoop (Hoverbug), Flare (Flaringo), and Char (Forgesmelter).

She worked at the Beastforge for a few months before becoming a traveling mechanic. And that's it for her backstory, not much.

Notes:

-She uses different goggle lens colors for different situations, environments, and visibility.

- She uses a wagon pulled by her Mechabeast to travel around.

- I'm not sure which kind of Mechabeast would fit. I doodled a Terrorbird, a Cat, and an Ostrich. But I still don't know which I should go with.
