"They still seem alive, free and floating, don't they?"
I was browsing through my unfinished/unpublished works and this one caught my attention.
Originally, the Imprisoned Wishes were supposed to be locked in one of these cages, but apparently this one also turned out to be a rejected draft.
I just wanted to say that you are making a story as twisted as its name
And I like it
keep going <3
Aww, thank you so much! เฒฅโฟเฒฅ
I'm glad that you're enjoying the story and finding it twisted.. in a good way.

Just finished this Melted Maggy.
One of his styles is in the future.
Hi, I'm just reading your fanfic, I haven't finished it yet but it looks interesting!
I also saw your previous posts. Now I wonder if Melody is Magnifico's daughter or not? Because your posts look like this.
Hi! Thank you for reading my story!
Well, the truth is, no, Melody is no longer Magnifico's daughter, that was sort of the first draft.
Now his daughter is someone else, I means, was. He lost her. And you will understand why..
Your Majesty, a question has been bothering me... I don't know how to express it.. *sighs* If one day you find out that the person you know now is the reason for bad - or even terrible - things that have happened to you in the past, but you realize that the reason they are here is only to make up for their mistakes - whether intentional or accidental - would you forgive them? How do you treat them after this?
You know, the most human typical thing would be to not forgive someone who's caused you to suffer unimaginably, right? .... but something I learned about forgiveness is that it isn't for the person who hurt you, but it is for you. It is for the peace of your soul.

By forgiving the person who hurt you, you're not playing down the bad thing that they've caused or done, you don't forget it or take its gravity away - you let it go. You let go of all the negative emotions and focus on healing. You move on.
Forgiving someone can be hard. Very hard. And sometimes, forgiving is only possible with the help of God. But we cannot change the past by staying resentful and bitter. We cannot change that person by it. We only stay in pain ourselves. We also aren't the judge. God is.
So ... yes, I did forgive many people. I forgave Asha, I forgave Amaya, I forgave the people of Rosas and I forgave the barbarians. They have enough darkness in them.
Forgetting however ... No. I won't ever forget and I will never be able to fully trust any of them ever again. But as I said, I've let go of my resentment.
How do I treat those who've hurt me and caused me suffering today?
I try my best to treat them nicely, neutral if anything ... believe it or not, Asha and I get along much better now than Amaya and I ... it has its reasons .... also, Asha is Myrah's friend and handmaid. Back then, she was still a child and we hardly knew each other. Amaya and I on the other hand had been close for years. Her betrayal hurt worse. And it broke something in our friendship that cannot be repaired. No matter forgiven or not.
Same for Rowan. Her soulmate and husband - in case you don't know that yet. He used to be my chief guard. He isn't anymore. He's my deputy but as mentioned, I cannot fully trust him anymore ... Now Jonathan is chief guard, and Simon's mentor.
me: *takes a deep breath*
me: i lo-
everyone: yes, you love King Magnifico, we know, you won't stop talking about him or defending him and you'd happily die on that hill. To you, he's a silly, traumatised and beautiful cinnamon roll who deserves better and you could literally talk about it for hours. You just love King Magnifico, we KNOW, WE GET IT.
Okay, so, I've seen a lot of people defend Magnifico using scenes from the beginning of the movie, as if you people can't find excuses for his actions towards the end
Fear not, defenders! I'm here to talk about King Magnifico, using signs and proofs that the guy in the end, was not our beloved King
Starting with: His colors
Now, some might ask, 'what do you mean, colors?' and I will respond, 'his magic's colors'

Magnifico's magic has always been blue, from the beginning of the movie, TILL, he started using that book

And, oh, what's that color? Green? Just like the one his magic transforms into in the end?

Yes. That green.
Just a proof that this guy wasn't Magnifico. Sure, it was him, but he was under the command of the book, it wasn't truly him attacking everyone like that
Now, moving on, shall we, people?
This one is a bit obvious, don't know if anyone already pointed it out, but ever since his very first appearance, his hair was perfect, he ALWAYS ensured it was perfect. Even if it went unkempt, he would adjust it back

But, oh my gosh, what is that?

Unkempt hair, I see.
Look me in the eye and tell me Magnifico knew what he was doing, when he didn't adjust his hair once under the spell of that book

I want to give Magnifico a happy life.

HATE when people explain the fear in Magnificoโs face as the wishes leave him and are set free. Itโs not โoh no my powers lost ๐ฅบโ itโs an โoh god what am I doing? Fuck Iโm hurting people, I didnโt mean to, make it stop.โ Itโs not a villain being defeated itโs closer to a moment of clarity, similar to one someone suffering from addiction may have. When youโre doing it you canโt think of the consequences, all you know is this feels good and you donโt want that to stop. But then the effects wear off and you realise people are upset and hurting and itโs your fault and you want either to stop or to get back on it so you forget what youโre doing, thatโs why he reaches for the wishes, not to grab them and control them but because when he doesnโt have them heโs faced with something heโs forced to deal with alone that he canโt handle.
Sorry for the rant but I really find the comparison between addiction and what Magnifico goes through interesting, and it riles me up because heโs treated like a villain when all he needs is help and the stigma facing addiction means those suffering from it canโt get help and fall further into their problem. Magnifico defender for life ๐๐ฉต๐ค
YES! I mean, the fact that you can see the exact moment the hold of the possession is broken ... like ... do you see the green claws holding the wishes but they leave anyway? And the second the "demon" is kicked out of Mags, his face immediately shifts to pure panic and confusion?

Look at this poor baby!! Those haters claiming what you mentioned above is insane!!! What are they so mad at him for??
I have seen and heard multiple times now, that people compare Magnifico's sitution to an addiction. While I do agree on some points, I got to say, that Magnifico wasn't addicted. In his case, he was heavily traumatized from his childhood and the fear that came from it forced him to the book, because he panicked. He didn't even want to use the book! And then, he got possessed by that evil entity and controlled like a puppet. No way did that feel good. That demon in him was throwing a party because he was like "Yes! Finally a vessel I can control to kill, steal and destroy! I won!" No sir! I can't imagine how Magnifico must have suffered in his own body, suppressed by that entity! Not to scare anyone but I've seen demons manifest in people and that shit ain't a drug high, that is torture!
Makes it a 100 times worse that the people of Rosas including Amaya, Asha etc. Turned on him with the snap of a finger. He was only a source for a favor for them all. And the fact no one had an idea that he was possessed isn't an excuse for them either. They didn't care for him. And even those who might have realized something is wrong, stayed silent!!! And watched. Their king, who constantly gave and gave and gave, went out of his ways to help his people the best way possible, made a life of luxury possible for them, needed their help desperately and they turned away!
Also, what do these haters think paying no rent or taxes means?? 99% of the time, money was the one thing that brought a person status and power. Other kings sat on their gold like greedy dragons, while Magnifico doesn't give a flying fart for money. If he did, he would have taken taxes like any other king and let the people pay rent! The people of Rosas had to pay for nothing!!
He was simply too good for them all! That ungrateful, greedy, ignorant, compassionless, egoistical, entiteled, selfish bunch of hypocrites!
And yes, you are not alone with your anger! We defenders are all in this together! ๐โจ๏ธ
King Magnifico is a Star!
Poor King Magnifico. All this magic and fun was happening around him and he was isolated from it all. But What If...King Magnifico was in the woods, scared and stressed, and frantically trying to find out what the light was, and the animals sing to him instead of Asha?
In his case, it would be a reveal moment, where he finds out what star magic is, and that it's nothing to be scared of or threatened by, since "he's a star" too and has had the stardust inside him the whole time. Maybe the song helps reveal that the star magic is what caused his "own origin story" because it's what helped him learn to create his own magic. The song could serve as a gentle reality check; sometimes things you don't understand aren't always something to fear, and sometimes the answers to life's biggest mysteries are closer than you think and aren't always found in a book.
(On a side note, who can I commission to get this version performed? ;) )
Anyway, here's King Magnifico's version of "I'm a Star":

Have you ever wondered why you look up at the sky for answers? Or why flowers in the wind are effortless and elegant dancers? What forms the rings in the trees? Grows a pine from a seed? What's passed down generationally, to you? (And to me?)

And why your eyes look like microscopic galaxies? Have you ever wondered why you look up at the sky for answers?
Well, you don't have to look too hard We're here for all your question marks If you're try'na figure out just who you are Don't look far In the sky, and your courtyard Beyond the books and potion jars If you really wanna know just who you are You're a star! (Magnifico (confused): What?)

Boom! Did we just blow your mind? Magnifico (scoffs): Er, wellโฆ.I've known the entire time!
When it comes to the universe we're all shareholders Get that through your system! Magnifico: ..Solar?
See we're all just little nebulae in a nursery From supernovas now we've grown into our history We're taking whys right out of mystery, closure Now we're taking in All the star exposure!
We eat the leaves which feed off the sun Magnifico (ponderingly): So that's where the balls of gas come fromโฆ
Hey, you still look like you're hanging on by a strand But if you open your mind and heart, you'll understand!
Magnifico (intrigued): So your magic stardust, is my dust too? Amazing!

Well, you don't have to look too hard It's all around and not too far If you're try'na figure out just who you are You're a star! Do you know you're a work of art Even in the deepest dark? If you really wanna know just who you are
Magnifico (uncertain, but getting the hang of things): I'm a star...?
Here's a little fun allegory That gets me excitatory (Magnifico: "That's not a word..") This might sink in in the morning We are our own origin story
If I'm explaining this poorly Stardust makes magical glory It's all quite revelatory And it helped write your origin story!
You don't have to look too hard It's all around and not too far If you're try'na figure out just who you are You're a star!
(Magnifico chuckles, starting to relax and loosen up)

Magnifico sings along with the animals: No matter where you end or start We're all each other's counterparts If you really wanna know just who you are I'm a star!
Magnifico: Hey! I'm a star! Deer: Show the world who you are!

Magnifico: (confidently) You know who's lookin' sharp? (Who?) Me, I'm a star! (Woo!!)

Ooh, you're a star! Watch out world, there you are!
You know who's lookin' sharp? Magnifico: Who? You! You're a star!

The sad truth is King Magnifico never had a chance because he was a white male. He wasn't ever meant to succeed, because Jennifer Lee is a radfem and didn't want him to. Filmthreat did a really good article revealing a lot of her behaviour especially while working on Wish.
Yes, I am aware of that. However, whatever she planned, that shot backfired. We Magnifico defenders are several thousands, millions by now if you count in the boom our man has in Japan + all the children loving him.
Honestly, I don't care anymore about what stupid nonesense Jennifer has said or will say. The cake is eaten. Magnifico isn't a villain. Period. No hater will change that fact. And while we defenders are glad we got him the way we did, we will still keep making noise by defending him and standing up to rise awareness to trauma + calling out all the toxicity and hypocrisy there is concering him.
Also, because I remember it now, the most stupid argument from the haters I've seen so far is, that we only defend Magnifico because he's hot.
What.the.actual.frick?
Are these people for real? What kind of a shit insult is this? They wanna call us superficial but are the embodiment of it themselves with their inane statements against us and Magnifico.
Us defending him has 0 to do with the fact that he's a 100 of ten with his looks, but everything with who he really is as a character and the situation concerning him. He could be Quasimodo looking and we would defend him just the same.

The statement, that the possession by the evil entity revealed Magnifico's true self, is the biggest outrageous inane shit I have ever heard so far!

Like seriously, are these haters for real? To say someone is to blame for the evil that the evil possessing them does is absolutely wild!!!
I mean, every statement of the haters and "anti-Magnifico's" as they call themselves, is stupid anyway and they have all been debunked easily so far, but THIS! ....
Also, the way they treat trauma as if it's a common cold! Some silly headache, a sneeze! Something that hurt once but later on means nothing! Oh how I wish I could block and remove those people not only from tumblr but form the internet entirely, cause their toxic shit enrages be beyond belief! They have absolutely no idea what they're talking about! They're spitting not only stupidity and lies but also harmful and hurtful statements!
If an evil entity possesses someone and takes control, then it is the evil entity who is to blame for the actions and reactions it is doing through the person they possess!!
Sure, humans can be evil too and do wrong but a possession is a possession! And no, a possession does not reveal someone's real face! God give me strengh!
To misinterpret Magnifico's whole character and his actions is one thing, but throwing around such statements pinches a nerve on me that better shouldn't be pinched.
That some people truly believe they are in the right with their insane mind diarrhea, is beyond me!
If even one, one single thing of them would be a solid point, the majority wouldn't be on Magnifico's side, defending him with teeth and nails!
I truly hope and pray a traumatized person will never cross the path of these anti-Magnifico's and haters, because we saw how they view trauma and would treat them!
Apparently the hater's new favourite argument is - "Magnifico maliciously hoarded the wishes on purpose and made people forget about it for funsies, only so he could have power over them, because he's a vicious powerhungry dragon, who only cares about himself."

Oh really? Tell me, where did you find this bombastic knowledge of human nature? In the garbage bin?
Next time there's a discount on compassion and common sense, I'll make sure to notify you! It's very hard to get these days!
Not only do these people not listen to what Magnifico said, they make up reasons that are nothing but lies.
So, recap on what Magnifico said!
"I founded this kingdom so there would be a place where everyone is safe! No one should ever have to see their dreams getting destroyed before their eyes!"

Everything- Everything I do is to make sure that never happens again!"

Not that he solely built his kingdom because he cared more for the wellbeing of others than his own! And that despite the fact, that his trust in humanity has been shattered.
The cherry on top for me is to hear haters leaving the Magnifico hashtag because they cannot handle seeing us defenders taking over ๐คญ
Further proof of Our King's anxiety and trauma: His body language. He has a habit of putting his hands behind his back. It's a self-soothing and self-preservation gesture. But then when he's more relaxed, he doesn't do that.
Case in point: Look when he meets Asha. At first you don't see his hands. They're behind his back. When he does bring a hand out briefly, it goes behind his back again. But when he warms up to her, his hands come out.
The same goes with when he's addressing his people about the magic. His hands are behind his back, and they stay there unless he brings one hand out to do something and then he puts it right back. He's uncomfortable, he's guarded and it shows.
Which is why his people should have known that something was VERY wrong when he came out on stage possessed. His body language was VERY different. He was stumbling around drunk, but his hands were both visible. His body language had drastically changed because he was essentially inebriated on dark magic. That should have been a BIG clue in that something was WRONG, not that the king was suddenly evil.
YES! THIS! ๐ค๐ผ
I've been stressing from the beginning about this! While hands loosly clasped in the back can be a sign of confidence and relaxtion, Magnifico's way of hiding his arms is different most of the time.
Now, I have always been good at reading people but then I studied psychology for a while and trauma conditions, the mental impact it has and how it shows.
Magnifico oozed trauma the very first minute I saw him. And when he mentioned what happened, plus the burned wall-rug, I knew it was deep! All his behavior clicked for me.
That is also a big part why haters villanizing him gets me fuming mad. If I was to follow their logic, then Elsa is a villain for running away and leaving her kingdom to freeze die, or Maui, who stole Tefiti's heart and caused destruction, or abuela Alma, for treating Mirabel like trash, or Imelda for forbitting music in her family, Abuela Elena for smashing Miguels guitar!
The hypocrisy is off the charts!
And the worst thing is exactly what you mentioned last. The people of Rosas not being able to see that something was horribly wrong with their king. He was so clearly not himself and no one gave a toot. It's easy to explain though. The didn't know their own king and nor did they care. All they cared about was their wishes. Their needs. Their desires. Magnifico was just their source for favors and when that well ran dry, they dropped him like a stone. Talking about selfishness!
Magnifico was never evil. Did he make some wrong choices because of his trauma? Yes. But nothing he ever did made him a villain. The only villain there was, was the book! The book, or rather, the evil force/entitiy in in! And yes, we saw that demon-thing drawn on the page. Not to forget the green clawed hands! No, magic itself isn't a conscious living, thinking being, it's a supernatural ability used by a fessel. And as a christian I can tell you the only thing behind "dark magic" are demons.
You will see this whole topic deeper explained in the upcoming cooperation post "the Magnifico case". But here is a little thing from it.
This isn't Magnifico

This is!

This isn't him

This is!

The fact that people cannot differentiate between this and understand what a possession is ...
Anyway. Anothing very interesting thing I wanna draw attention to is what comes out of Magnifico's mouth once he is full on possessed. He says things that are 100% contradictory to everything he stood for and fought for.
See the reflection thing in the fountain? It's where the quote "I win!" Falls! Why is this so deeply unsettling? Because there is nothing he won! All Magnifico ever truly wanted was happiness and savety for others around him. Magnifico's trauma had caused him to be immensly fearful and paranoid when it came to the savety of others because what happened to him left scars in his soul as deep as a canyon and he wanted no one else to ever have to suffer like he did. He didn't want power, he didn't want fame! He only wanted what's best for others and in return get some love and respect for what he did. Which, yes, he deserved anyway!
Back to my two cents of my christian opinion. It's pretty clear that the evil side does nothing but steal, kill and destroy. It's all it ever wants. To hurt and wreck. That thing that has been trapped in that book must have waited eagerly for who knows how long to get a victim it can use to destroy and use to destroy. So when that thing had taken control over Magnifico's clear consciousness, it obviously said "I won!"
Even sadder is that we could see the exact moment, the entity leaves Magnifico and he is left with confusion and panic because all he sees are the wishes floating away into the nightsky.
Also, where did the green enter and leave? Into and from his heart!

This is the same fear only increased!
And NO! God NO! It is not "Ah, no, I don't wanna lose my power and control over the people because I'm a malicious beast and I wallow in their suffering and enjoy them not being able to make one of their wishes come true!"
No. Just. No. This is ignorant, this is stupid nonsense. This is seeing evil where there is none. This is villanizing trauma!
And then some people go "Oh God, what a monster! What a evil man! Poor kid! It deserves to swim! How dare he not let the kid swim!"
Compare this to a father, who previously had lost a brother or even his first child to a drowning accident. Now the next child is old enough to swim and is running towards the water. Everyone knows the kid will jump in, swim and have fun, but all the father can think of is the potential danger of his child drowning as well. Maybe it will get a cramp, or a shark will bite it, or it gets stung by a jellyfish, steps on a venomous sea urchin, gets a heart attack, gets pulled away by a current ...
You see where I'm going?
And then the father runs, sweaps the child in his arms and forbids it to go near the water and swim because it is too dangerous. He tells his child.
"You stay here with me, as long as I deem it saver! I'm your father, it is my responsibility to keep you as safe as I can! I only want the best for you!"
And of course the child is pouty.
"
"Well, if there is a shark, it can be stopped. I might just bite one leg off of the child ...oh well...The father clearly doesn't know what he's doing! And I must know, I don't even have children!"
"Everyone call the police! Let's put this father behind bars! He's so cruel and abusive to his poor child!"
"And good heavens! He snapped at the child for saying it is old enough to decide if it wants to swim or not! And he replied that he decides if the child swims or not! What a narcissistic psychopath! He needs to be stopped!"
Anyway, I'm very excited to soon share that big boy of a post with you, where I dive into each and every aspect as deep as ever with the help of Magnificolover from instagram. ๐ถ
How does that sound? And now imagine one of these judgemental, entiteled, selfrighteous, ignorant people calling the police. And the police arrests the man and no one at the beach does anything. No one thinks "wait a minute! This is wrong!"
I can already smell the haters cooking new arguments ๐ feeling snubbed at their toes cause we defenders are right! And you know what? We will only get louder! We are already the vast majority! Including children!
They're mad at us and our defense? Good! Maybe then it is time to ask themselves why it is that the majority is on Magnifico's side! Or why children starting by the age 5 (my cousins son for example) can clearly conclude that the only reason Mags went nuts is because of the evil book. Better yet, they see that Asha and the people of Rosas are in the wrong how they treat their king. And children are brutally honest.
Stay loud my fellow defenders! ๐ฅ

My prob.
chasing that character that never follows the outline and ends up doing random shit that adds nothing to the plot for 5 extra chapters you hadnโt even planned

It really be like that though
๐๐ก๐ ๐๐๐๐ฉ-๐ฏ๐จ๐ข๐๐๐ ๐๐จ๐๐ญ

Since my story takes place after the movie, it means that many things have changed, even our good-voiced goat. Here, Valentino is almost six-months-old.
I admit this is another one of my favorite characters from Wish.
I've finished this little one in the past few days and I'm going to post new characters or those that have changed their appearance in my story. So I started with Valentino (Because I had already drawn his design).
I'm pretty sure they decided not to add this scene to the final product just because of Magnifico's exposed chest. You won't convince me otherwise.

Even if he had become a real monster in the original, it would have been much more interesting than what we got - the punishment of a traumatized person who, in fact, did nothing truly wrong.
๐ King Magnifico: A Classic Disney Villain? A Misunderstood Hero? ๐

Breaking news: King Magnifico's a villain after all. He's nothing but a cold, heartless tyrant who stole everyone's wishes for absolutely no reason at all, and forced everyone to bend to his will. Asha's the hero and King Magnifico's just as evil as Scar or Frollo. At least that's what some members of the Wish fandom will lead you to think, anyway.
Let's look at a few things. The movie begins with Asha singing about how the citizens of Rosas can willingly give up their wishes (see: 'Welcome to Rosas' song). Fast forward to her interview, and she's horrified because apparently King Magnifico's taking everyone's wishes and forcing them to live unhappy lives without their wishes ever being granted. And she knew nothing about any of it.
Plus her 'if someone has a bad wish, they can be stopped' line means someone wishing for worldwide genocide can easily be stopped.
The interview scene alone proves just how awkward and downright bad the writing was at times. Asha happily sang about King Magnifico and his wish system at the beginning, then acted completely blindsided during the interview.
Nobody can say Tangled suffers from so much klutziness. Not with a straight face.
And Magnifico defenders, know that you have a safe space here to celebrate the King of Rosas. Don't let anyone shut you down, here or anywhere else, for supporting Magnifico.

- Keep this with you, It protects you from harm and evil.
- Hey Maggy! What do you think about my clothes? I designed it myself- I just have an M on my cape like yours!
