Case by case, the bustling city he lives in--Asobi--falls apart into something surreal and strange. Will Sojiro discover why Asobi is unraveling around him, or will he die trying?
GREY MATTER: CNIDARIA is unofficially rated as MATURE (18+). The comic will contain gore, implied sexual content, violence, body horror, and themes of abuse, paranoia, and psychosis. Engage with CNIDARIA at your own risk and comfort. Trigger warnings will be given on each page or chapter as needed.

7 days until CNIDARIA releases!!
For this week, I have some fun promo art and small character introductions. Some of these characters won't be featured until later, so keep them in your pocket!
Yasu (left) and Mitsuki (right) are Sojiro’s parents. Yasu works at home, writing obituaries and newspaper articles. He loves making coffee and picking up small artsy hobbies. Yasu is sweet and loves his wife, but he tends to be a people pleaser, rarely speaking his mind. Mitsuki is a forensic pathologist and the Director of the Hospital. She’s strict, firm, intelligent. Mitsuki has a soft spot for Yasu, who tells her to rest!! She’s particularly strict towards Sojiro and his job. It comes from a place of care, but that’s not always apparent.

We're prepping the art!! We're getting stuff done!! My horror comic, GREY MATTER: CNIDARIA is on its way! It will be released for free here as well as on Tapas, Webtoon, Deviantart, Twitter, and Bluesky.
The next update will show the release date for Chapters 1 and 2. After that, weekly updates! Let's do this!

One of a few references for CNIDARIA I did sometime in 2022 or early 2023. I'll post the updated reference sometime soon, but Yasu hasn't changed all that much.
Yasu is an attempted stay-at-home dad. He cooks, does a little cleaning, and prides himself in making delicious coffee for his wife, Mitsuki. Yasu means well, even if his head is in the clouds sometimes. His actual job is as a writer and editor, mostly for obituaries and short story compilations.
Yasu is a secondary / supporting character. He gives advice to his son, Sojiro, about dealing with Mitsuki and carving a future for himself.

OFFER YOUR HEART LIKE A DRUG!
Back at it again with some horror art. Local guy gets blood all over him and stares at the camera.
The colors remind me of Ao Oni and the dolls from Ib!
The lyrics are from Paparazzi Murder Party by Vane Lily! Absolute banger of a song. You'll probably see it get used again.

Here's a recent test with some decrepit urban places and some brushes on Procreate. It's mostly to get the feel of a world I'm writing about.
Not based on a particular image, but rather several references.
