People up north are FIERCELY protective of loons man. Don't ever cross them. My grandparents live in the middle of the woods and this state senator's kid started buzzing past the loons nest on the lake with his jetski and doing donuts around them, seperating the chicks from parents and being a general douche. Just about every mountain man and forest elder in that community was hungry for his blood. Men once thought dead emerged from the brush to curse his name. I'm not claiming hostility, but I think this has more to do with it making sense rather than just Chubby > Buff.
Like, for example. It at least would make more sense for Francis Mosses to have a Dad bod than to be a bodybuilder:
1. He's a Dad himself.
2. He doesn't seem like the person who'd be big into fitness or anything. Best exercise he has is doing his job as a milkman or making chocolate pudding at 4am.
Same can apply to William Afton or Wally Darling. (How would the puppet even get beefy anyway? Do the sundaes Howdy gives him have protein powder or smth?)
