I'm gonna be honest, if the proshipping community wasn't so filled with pedophilia I wouldn't mind them, I would be like "Okay, weird to ship incest but okay? I guess" and ignore them but I can't ignore them if every time I say "Hey being sexually attracted to characters who look 8 years old or shipping them with adults and/or their parents is not okay" I get harassed, called homophobic, kink shamer, and a prude.

But I'm mentioning pedophilia because that's what I've seen, people writing about INFANTS being assaulted by adults or by their parents under the excuse of "it's fiction", that's solely what I talk about when I talk about proshipping, I don't mention incest nor yandere because I've consumed that type of content and it would be hypocritical of me. I was reading this and I thought you were gonna address the growing issue of actual pedophiles being accepted with proship spaces, calling themselves radqueer and pretending like they have valid reasons in preying on actual people but no it was about fictional characters again ... Why did I expect any different...?

I'm planning on making an essay-style post about proshipping, in which I'll talk about this, but it will take me some time to post because I want to make it extensive and do proper research.

The reason why I talked about fictional characters is because that's always the argument I hear "Oh they are fictional, so who cares if they are kids?" but this indeed has real-life consequences, like creating a safe space for predators in which they can interact with minors who create or consume this stuff.

For example, I remember when I first joined Tumblr and started moving to the English-speaking side I saw a post about someone asking people to report an account in ao3, why? because the account was of a minor who wrote stuff like "3-week-old! reader x Billy Hargrove" or stuff like that, basically all of their content was smut with huge age gaps in which the reader was always a kid, not a teenager, a kid. Also, she was interacting with adult readers, readers who asked her to write more of this stuff, saying stuff like "infants are so hot, keep it up" and some of the interactions between them implied that they were talking on Instagram and sexting.

These are REAL-LIFE consequences of pedophilia in the proshipping community.

I'm not saying you can't write about these subjects, you can definitely do that, you can also do it in a "romantic" light without romanticizing it, the problem is that when someone says "Ew pedophilia" instead of saying "I was trying to convey how manipulative predators can be, I don't support this and I never will" they say "you are a kink shamer, homophobic and you are calling me a pedophile because I wrote about pedophilia in a romantic light"

So, if the Proshippers really care about protecting children, so, don't post some humanshit whining about people making criticism, or being a such hypocrites.
