That moment when you get into a new fandom but you can’t draw your favorite characters for no reason
My art was made to uplift and inspire, to make people happy. Do not compare yourself to me, your art is important because you made it with love and care, no matter what it is. You may like my artstyle more, but don't think less of yourself. You're trying and, you put effort into it. Be prod of it, for yourself. There always will be someone better, drawing 'prettier' art. But that doesn't matter. If our ancestors haven't even tried, because maybe their neighbour would be better than them, we wouldn't have art at all. You matter, no matter how small the thing you make is, it matters, because no one else, but you could've made it, and here you are, looking at it, and it exists

Being an alternative artist is so funny to me. I'm a maximalist, so most of my friends nearly exclusively see me with my hands and arms covered in gloves, rings, bracelets, etc. Which is fine, it's epic, it's whatever UNTIL it's time to draw, diy or write something. Then I leave a trail of black and metal in the house behind me as I go from creative task to creative task, cause I don't know about you guys, but I can't do intricate stuff with all that crap on XD
Anyone else beginning to understand your diy style and techniques? And thus looking back at your very first attempts and wanting to vomit? I ruined perfectly fine pieces of clothing. They spent their days hanging on racks in stores waiting to be loved, were bought for undoubtedly unreasonable prices, loved well and eventually donated to a thrift somewhere... only to be absolutely DEFILED by a chubby baby punk with a pair of scissors and a bag of safety pins. Yes, they were originally boring and basic, but my attempts to spice them were largely failures and one hundred percent lacked any vision or skill.
And yes, everyone starts somewhere! First DIYs were an important part of the process to mature us into our current skill level.
Anyways, I just threw away two shirts.
by making art you are improving no matter what im so serious never stop making art ever . Never stop drawing that game you like or those ocs only you know or things you see or objects that appeal to you or stars or hearts or shapes. draw wonky hands and weird proportions . This is important btw

Starting a sketch/drawing in the first page of a new sketchbook is always (and oddly) intimidating, but luckily I have a few reference photos in mind ☝️

Love when artists put “reblogging for the morning crowd!” “Reblogging for the weekend crowd!” in the tags to justify reblogging their own art. But lets not lie to ourselves anymore. Im reblogging for the exact same crowd i just need them to know i mean business. Im reblogging for the didn’t take a hint the first time crowd. Reblogging for the crowd that needs to understand i spent 20 hours on this.

idk if this is a universal artist thing but whenever people like/reblog my art and I see the other stuff people reblog and take interest in I'm like HUH??? you like MY art??? And it's among other AMAZING artists'????? are you SURE???????
