More Zavala/Ikora Headcanons
(My apologies if it sounds really stupid cheesy)
-How their relationship started was at one of the Dawning celebrations
-The Vanguard was participating in the festivities which included alcohol
-So Ikora and Zavala were drinking near each other and having conversation. Cayde went off somewhere else
-So when they were just sitting there, Zavala accidentally let it slip that he may or may not be attracted to her
-She initially laughed it off because she thought it was the alcohol talking
-But then he got this really serious look on his face and said it again and said he meant it and this was probably the only time he would have the courage to tell her
-And then he got up and tried to walk away because he thought he just ruined something because she didn’t respond but it was just taking her a second to process what he said
-After she realized he had walked off, she went searching for him and found him in the private areas just looking at the sky and she went over to stand by him
-He then started to apologize, but stopped and got startled when she just leaned into him(I imagine he wasn’t wearing his chest piece or pauldrons during this) and whispered the feeling might be mutual
-Then they just stood there in silence for awhile leaning on each other till they were hearing about how they were needed back and such
-And then from then on there they just kept meeting after work and the relationship grew and stuff
-When it got far enough in, they just stopped going to separate quarters and would just join the other in whatever room that night if they got the chance to sleep
Also getting real tired of all the hate she and Zavala get. They’re good characters but they never got elaborated on because Cayde was always there. And yeah it sucks he’s gone and stuff but at least now we get to see other characters get used
Ikora rey needs more love.
Indeed. Honestly I’m pretty sure she’s in stage 15 depression, so any love we send her way is good
Even More Zavala/Ikora Headcanons
(Aight so I’m back on my BS about my all time favorite super rare pair. If you don’t want to read just scroll by really fast)
-After they had been together for awhile, Ikora had a special mark and bond commissioned for her and Zavala. At this point they never put any real labels on what they were, they just enjoyed each others company a did couple things
-So Ikora decided to do something about this and commissioned the bond and mark to be made and presented them to him during the first night of Crimson Days (I looked all over to see if it was a Vanguard thing but only those two wear it)
-Let me tell y’all, Zavala’s face had never turned so bright blue before. His eyes got big and wide and essentially he just got the biggest look of surprise on his face
-This is also one of the only times that Ikora was mildly nervous as Zavala hadn’t said anything. He just kept staring at the items before he eventually ran his hands over the mark as his smile broke out into one of the biggest smiles Ikora has ever seen
-She breathed a small sigh of relief, before she got lifted into one of the most bone-crushing bear hugs she will ever receive in her life
-This was also followed by several kisses
-No one ever really figured it out as people thought it was just a Vanguard thing and Cayde just didn’t want to wear it
-This happened to be when Cayde finally figured it out as he’s the only one who caught on. He never told anyone cause what they did was their business and he was just glad that two of his best friends were able to find love and comfort with one another
-When they do eventually tell him, he basically says, “Oh yeah I know. You’re the only ones who wear that symbol, which coincidentally appeared during Crimson Days, and if it was a Vanguard thing then I would have to wear one too.”
-They both are kind of embarrassed but he reassures them that he’s just happy for them and he won’t tell anyone else or talk about it unless they tell him it’s OK
(Also if anyone has a ship name recommendation for these two, feel free to tell me)
Fav characters?
(I’m assuming you want favorite Destiny characters. If this is not the case, just hit me with another ask.)
1. Osiris. It took me a long time to warm up to him, but once I did he jumped to the spot of my favorite Destiny character. I respect his ideas and how he wanted to know more about our enemies even though he became obsessed and got exiled for it. I also liked how in Season of the Dawn, it showed us more to him than that grumpy uncle and I really enjoyed how happy he was when he found out that there was a way to bring back Saint. Best grumpy uncle ever for me. I do wish they would have treated him better in his DLC especially after there was kind of a legend around him back in D1. Like dead*ss, Osiris is regarded as one of the most powerful guardians ever and we rarely got to see him.
2. Variks. He crept in and stole my heart right off the bat. When playing House of Wolves back in D1, I thought he sounded so cool and when I found out Dee Bradley Baker voiced him, I liked him even more. Also what made me like him even more was reading his lorebook in D2. This dude had to endure years of insults directed at him by Awoken, Humans, and guardians alike, yet he never seemed to hesitate to help. Hell, he tried to warn us about the Red Legion and was became upset that he wasn’t able to get the message through. Plus he is trying his best to unite the Eliksni again, despite seeing the majority of his people fall into madness. Now I don’t excuse what he did, but he was being influenced by the Fanatic the same way Uldren was. Overall, I think he is really cool and I am glad he’s coming back, hopefully, we don’t have to kill him though.
3. Zavala and Ikora. These two share the spot as I find both of them amazing characters and I wish Bungie would have used them more instead of relying on Cayde for everything. I admire how strong they have been through literally everything at this point and honestly, they both deserve all the love in the world. They are the strongest leaders I have seen from any game and they deserve so much respect. They also are great mom and dad type characters, because even though they fight, they still can come together to help and assist us and the people. We respect Ikora and Zavala in this house, and if you don’t that’s really not cool ngl.
4. Jolyon Till the Rachis. So he is not in-game, he has only ever appeared or been mentioned in lore, but still, he has become a big favorite of mine. So if you don’t know, he is the creator of the Lord of Wolves, one of his pastimes is taking enemy weapons and remaking them into something to be used by Awoken and guardians. He also has been through so much sh*t at this point yet still remains strong to lead the Crows in Uldren’s absence. He went to the Balck Garden for his best friend(or lover depending on how you see them) and came back with massive trauma from it, including scary *ss nightmares, but he never let that stop him from assisting the Awoken people. He had to watch said best friend(or lover) descend into madness. Then went Uldren went off the deep end, he had to go fetch him and realize that Uldren didn’t even remember him, or any of their time together. This man is so cool and I wish he would show up in-game and hopefully, he makes an appearance or something when Guardian Uldren shows up.
These are the main favs and hopefully, none of them end up dead.
