i watched one (1) video on how to draw hands that changed my life forever. like. i can suddenly draw hands again

these were all drawn without reference btw. i can just. Understand Hands now (for the most part, im sure theres definitely inaccuracies). im a little baffled

Anyone else ever start a project only to be deterred by the idea of drawing a hand (It’s so bad 😭😭😭😭😭😭)

Why, they use their own hand as reference while standing at a tilted drawing board, of course!

That being said, have some studies I'm doing right now :]

(featuring both of my hands, har har)

(and my eyeball, I gave up on trying to find The Right Reference™)

...But seriously though, holding your arm out in front of you like that while trying to get a decent sketch down before you lose energy is a challenge and a half, I might even go as far as to say two :']

My arm started shaking around halfway through TT>TT

I don't know if anyone else can see it, but this looks like what fainting feels like to me, if that makes sense

It reminds me a lot of that really dizzy, static-y feeling, right before you lose your hearing and everything starts to sound like your ears are filled with water

(I don't know if it's the same for everyone, I assume there are some differences depending on the person and circumstances, but I imagine there are quite a few similarities as well)

It just has that shaky, weak feeling written all over it in my eyes, I'm not quite sure how to explain it lol

Oo! Well, I’ve learned a lot about drawing hands lol. I’ve gotten 10x better than I used to be. Some of the requests I’ve gotten also forced me to draw full body, which was good practice, and I’ve done a few backgrounds, too.

I struggle drawing fingers and hands the most! 😥

I did too! Sometimes I still struggle! Here’s how I typically sketch a hand (I found it helps a lot)

Start with this shape ⬆️

Sketch the fingers (it can be rough) ⬆️

Sketch over it again ⬆️

Line art over the sketch, and done! It’s not the best, but it’s definitely a hand :)

You may need to sketch two or three times to get what you want, but sketching it out helps me a TON. Just practice and you’ll get better, I promise 💜

Life drawing hand & foot study

Practicing drawing hands & foots in different positions. Trying to draw my hand wasn’t easy but I am happy with it as a begging. Drawing with soft pastels & charcoals. Need more practicing but really enjoyed it. I used brown paper sketchbook as I can see that it made my drawings looks more realistic. Tried also to use light & shadow in my drawings

... the hands.... the hands. they look so flipping good, and the feet. what wait how? am i about to cry.... YES

i just can't right now. she ain't perfect but my god i'm so happy.

never just up on practicing hands, use references and stay strong... feet are all down to luck... curse you feet

Whats wrong?

The pointed finger is wider than the others, the other fingers look too small, and the thumb looks swollen.
