I actually like blueshipping.
But most of the past!fic I'll post on here will probably be blueshipping Pokémon fic because I wrote a lot of it as a kid.
I still write it, but I'd like to think I've improved.
I think "people finding your old fanfic" is the "people finding your old nude pictures" of the literary world.
I just saw a fanfic author on tiktok advertising their fic like booktok does and peace and love but friend. your real life actual face??? associated with your fic???

Anyone ever write a fanfic, think you aren’t really getting that far, but then remember the trick to put your page setup into ‘Statement’ to make it the length of a legit book? Cause I did and holy shit I’ve actually written the equivalent of a book… like, longer than Prisoner of Azkaban… and I’m still in the beginning…

I’m not even much of a fan of genderbends but goddamn am I even less of a fan of getting ordered around about what I should enjoy and how I should enjoy it and being lectured about how ‘problematic’ it is, when the real problem is that they’ve cast the thing in question in black and white and refuse to admit that there’s anything but their narrow framing.
Changing a character to the ‘opposite’ cis gender is a very different thing than making them trans or nonbinary. Insisting that people only change characters to trans is also really damn invalidating, because it implies that being trans is interchangable with being cis. Whoopsie doodle!
I think the real issue here is that a lot of people want to see more trans headcanons, but for some reason think that using sj words while being bossy and rude is the way to go about it. Dress it up in progressive language all you like; at the end of the day you’re still being bossy and rude to get what you want, regardless of anyone else’s valid feelings.
Sometimes I get a lil sad thinking that no one has caught the subtle little details,,,until I get a comment months later. Sometimes it’s basically an essay. Sometimes it’s only a line or so. But they’ve noticed. They’ve noticed!
Basically: don’t feel bad about commenting on old fics. A comment is a comment and you never know how happy it’ll make the author
So, uh.. I‘m deranged and just had some shower thoughts on that.
It would be something like this, I think:

I have a few suggestions, if I may be so bold. It is based on a few assumptions, so bare with me (or ignore if it doesn't vibe with what you're trying to do)
-Alastor having a 'fancy city home' and a 'hunting lodge in the bayou'
-Being not nessecarily against new technology but very much against planned obsolescence that became very prevalent in the 2010s and onwards (leading to the right to repair movement, but that is very recent)
So assuming he was very successful at hiding in plain sight, he was never officially 'caught' with his murdery dealings. Hiding bodies requires to have at least a decently sized car and trunk space, as well as tools. That leads me to think that he may have been driving an offroad vehicle just so he can mime the woodsy outdoorsman hunter type. Complete with camping gear, shovel and axe(which he did occasionally use to chop actual wood). Having trunk space available is important for transporting all your….trophies…after all. Maybe also accompanied by bumper stickers that identify him as a hunter.
Otherwise I would assume he drove something like a Ford Crown Victoria. Why? Because it‘s the ‚everyman‘s car‘ - common as dirt, excellent parts availability, inconspicuous in urban environments. Maybe he also failed the ‚Family Guy color swatch test‘ one too many times for his liking, so driving one of these sometimes nets him brownie points with the older police officers who had good memories with this car. Social engineering cops to get off his ass by playing to their sensibilities - „Yes this car is so great, you know, my great uncle used to drive one of these…-„ (while simultaneously cursing about how the clutch keeps catching and how abused the first gear is because the previous owner was a slob….he should have gotten a Toyota 4x4 but that‘s the „terrorist truck“ and that would be telling)

I wish I knew more about cars and could give this a thoughtful answer, but I didn't get my license until I was 25 (grew up somewhere you didn't need a car) and so I really am new to the world of having to care about vehicles, hahaha.
I feel like he would have an appreciation for something classic and nice-looking but still functional and not overly expensive. Definitely not the kind of guy to pay dozens-to-hundreds of thousands on a classic car (frankly not sure if he could afford that in the first place) but also giving him a '97 Corolla like I currently drive (extremely widely-produced and thus easy to source parts for, demonstrably keeps rolling 27+ years later, very "if it ain't broke, don't fix it") seems like it's not classy enough. Maybe it was originally his mom's and he inherited it!
He definitely has exactly one (1) carefully-positioned bumper sticker, and it's a tasteful logo advertising his podcast.
I applaude this take because I also crave more equilibrium between all the people!
Evil yet loveable found family will never not be a mood and staticmoth can always coexist peacefully next to other pairings.
(It also makes the crafted worlds a richer place because it hints at a greater "world" beyond just the scenes we get to read about)
Fun Fact: 50% of the reason that Valentino and Velvette both get to live in Once Bitten, Back For More is that I want more radiostatic fics out in the world that aren't "Valentino is the bad guy and Alastor is the good guy"-flavored and thus refuse to break up staticmoth in any of my radiostatic stuff. The other 50% is because I love them and it would have made me sad. unu
(Disclaimer: Have totally read "Valentino is the bad guy and Alastor is the good guy" style fics, no shade to them, I just love both radiostatic and staticmoth.)

Officially abandoning my Pete-is-a-Trust-operative-and-Sam-knows-but-is-playing-him fic.
It has some fun scenes but it’s proving too difficult to get onto the page/screen. Thankfully haven’t started posting it so no one will be left hanging.
Now to get the random storylines in my head straight so I can write one of them.
Hmm.. Made it to Chain Reaction. Sam’s been taken off SG-1, so... technically... no regulations?

If writers write fanfics, especially about their original characters, it's not a bad thing, it's an alternative script.
