This isn't how I planned this piece looking but I like how it turned out. (I wanted to try a more cutsey style didn't really succeed)

its a painting thing, like the paper doll of Bucket I did a while back, but it's gonna be larger

you can't see it too good in this photo, but it's shiny, I put some metallics in the hair

have a painting,, as a treat. took a few hrs but I'm satisfied w how it came out.

it's goache on watercolor paper! abt 5 1/2 by 5 inches, so it's schmol for now but maybe I can get better watercolor paper eventually like large stuff yk.

also!! it's my birthday!! I'm 21 now :-)!! how friggin cool is that

I remember collecting cicada shells from tree trunks around my grandmother’s house. My brother and cousins and I would pluck them from the rough bark and hang them on our clothes, on laundry drying on the line, or throw them at each other. I thought they were disgusting and beautiful, and fascinating because of this confusing dichotomy. Now, of course, they are also imbued with the warm glow of nostalgia. But nothing from my childhood exists without a shadow, a specter of things related and not, remembered and not.
