so so glad the fraggle rock fandom collectively decided red/mokey & boober/wembley are couples so i can freely headcannon gobo's asexuality 😌

This is my own personal bias and I'm not saying it needs to happen but I still love gobo and his purple jacket and refuse to believe he still doesn't wear it

fraggle rock au where the plot of “the riddle of rhyming rock” is what i thought it was gonna be when i first watched it, where solving the riddle would send a fraggle back in time

this assumption was based on three things.

1) the story about rhyming rock: “weary traveler, heed this rhyme, and you will dance in time”. dance in time? like dancing through time? it very well could be!

2) the fact that on apple tv the preview picture for the episode is of great uncle gobo. how could there be an episode with him? a flash back?? surely not!

3) i really like time travel

those things combined made me come to the conclusion that gobo would solve the riddle and get sent back in time

and to add in the details in the summary (as shown on the above picture) it could be something where solving it sends everyone in the room back in time, and the punishment for using the spell wrong happens only after everyone goes back, so that thing where wembley gets trapped under the rock could still happen

and then, idk, gobo goes to get help but the only person he can find is his great uncle? time travel shananigans you know

that’s pretty much all the ideas i had on this. though if this happened that would mean that wembley had gone back it time twice, and red would be the only of their group who hasn’t (thank you “mokey, then and now”)

Also iv had the idea of gobo being partially deaf in one ear (which I also have but this wouldn't make much sense) so he'll bring Wymbly with him to be his ears

TW: talking abt scars⚠️

What if Wembley and Gobo had similar scars on their backs? W/ Wembley's being thinner bc doozer sticks are kinda sharp & thinner, and Gobo's being more from the explosion (aka burn/wood shard scars)

Context: Wembley got thrown into a doozer construction and got knocked unconscious, Gobo got caught in the expolosion of the Gorg's Castle while saving Fraggle Rock from a bomb

Bonus HC: what if Gobo used a cane/crutch sometimes? He did get thumped in the leg and the whole explosion probably hurt his back ,':/

If magic is canon in Fraggle Rock, then would it be canon that Gobo's guitar is magic? My reasoning is his guitar is used to explain the instrumentals in many songs, and therefore his guitar has been bass, acoustic, electric, etc. and as far as I know no guitar irl can replicate almost every guitar sound. This is paired with the fact that it can play all these sounds and only has three strings.

Reboot gobo: yeah my friends are great and i love them so much and there always great and help me a lot-

i mean he comes from a family known to become the greatest explorers

the way his character is written is so interesting cause there are episodes where he’s written to be kinda a jerk and egotistical (ex. a friend in need/the challenge), and i really perfer that to some of the other episodes where hes written to just be that great (ex. reds club). cause hes kinda bland in those episodes. let him be a jerk!!

and this doesn’t apply to reboot gobo. reboot gobo is the sweetest little guy ever, he’s more naive confidence than “i am the best ever”.

ok, i have more thoughts about gobo, specifically about the differences between his og and reboot personalities

in both series theres an episode where gobo has a kind of rise and fall, the og episode being "a friend in need" and the reboot episode being "all of us". the specific reasons for his rise and fall in each series i feel highlights the personality differences quite well

in "a friend in need" (s2e10) gobo's rise comes from him pulling off a super hard trick and giving himself a confidence high. he starts to believe that he can do anything, causing him to taunt sprocket while getting the postcard and to be sloppy when sneaking through the gorg's garden. it's this sloppy-ness that causes him to get captured and starts his fall. his mood completely shifts, now believing that he cant do anything

in "all of us" (s1e13) gobo's rise comes from having a dream that convinces him the only way to save the rock is to talk to junior, because he's confident that junior isnt as bad as everyone thinks and that he'll come through. gobo gets more confident (and rises more) after he talks to junior, and junior agrees to help. gobo's fall happens when junior (after his dad probably yelled at him) changes his mind and tries to capture gobo and his friends.

his rise and fall in the og is dependent solely on gobo's own abilities and what he's able to do, while in the reboot it's dependent on his confidence in others and his feeling of letting down his friends. og gobo is more focused on himself, while reboot gobo is more focused on others

now, this isn't entirely that cut and dry; there are plenty of scenes where og gobo is focused on others, or reboot gobo is focused on himself (no character can ever be that simple), but it still shows off their personality differences quite well. it's also cool how the rise and fall is kind of mirrored in both series

These images almost unsettle me because there just in the dark fsr and it makes me feeling like I'm playing a puppet horror game what is my problem
