One of the most common reasons I hear for people being against abortion is because “life is sacred.”
Really? Since when? When has life ever been sacred in this country?
If life is sacred, how come we don’t have universal healthcare?
If life is sacred, how come we don’t pass comprehensive gun laws so first graders don’t get gunned down in their classrooms?
If life is sacred, why don’t we offer paid maternal leave so mothers can actually take care of the babies that you are now forcing them to have?
If life is sacred, how come we don’t bat an eye when the police murder black kids?
If life is sacred, why do we have the highest maternal death rate in the developed world, which is only going to increase now that women are being forced to give birth?
If life is sacred, why is the death penalty even still a thing?
If life is sacred, why are we still encouraging violence against the LGBTQ+ community?
Life has literally never been sacred in this country. Maybe anti-choicers like to pretend that it is because it makes them feel righteous when in reality, they’re just misogynistic pieces of shit, but it’s not. And as long as psychotic, reactionary morons continue to steal power undemocratically and make decisions that the majority of us do not want, it never will be.
The gop voted to remove Justin Jones and another democrat who is also a black man but they decided to allow the 3rd democrat who is a white woman to stay despite the fact that she has a history of being disruptive. This is political lynching and if they can do this in Tennessee than they can do it anywhere .
In an extraordinary act of political retaliation, Tennessee Republicans on Thursday expelled a Democratic lawmaker from the state Legislature for his role in a protest that called for more gun control in the aftermath of a deadly school shooting in Nashville.
The GOP supermajority in the House declined by a single vote to expel a second Democrat. A vote against a third Democratic lawmaker was upcoming.
The 72-25 vote to banish Rep. Justin Jones was a move the chamber has used only a handful times since the Civil War. Most state legislatures possess the power to expel members, but it is generally reserved as a punishment for lawmakers accused of serious misconduct, not used as a weapon against political opponents.
All jokes aside, this is exactly why we need gun reform in this country. If this doesn't finally convince the Republicans to do something about guns (although they didn't do jack shit when a bunch of first graders were killed back in 2012, or when that shooting at the elementary school in Texas happened so I highly doubt it) then nothing will.
Why not sell a four year old a gun? People make it sound like that is a bad thing.
We need MAJOR gun reform. I’ll start with the most reasonable of ideas:
Abolish all gun laws, restoring the second amendment to it’s intended form.
None of ya business.
The right to bear arms shall not be infringed.
A gaping hole where a creep's head should be is the most effective crime deterrent.
Guns don't kill people. Guns kill vermin, and criminals are less than vermin.
What is the argument for allowing assault rifles which are designed for mass murder and not simply limiting weaponry to a standard pistol - for self defense alone in one's home? Freedom of choice? Nonmonopoly? Variety? Right of the vendor?
Seems like all Trump supporters care about is gun rights an not protecting the kiddies.
This was an actual gun, called the punt gun. It was outlawed for being to effective at killing ducks. 50-100 ducks at a time matter fact. Imagine mass shooters having one of these! Regulating the gun industry works. Just need to kick out every Republican from office..I'll color this later. 😎..

Im on snapchat watching all the stories on gun violence. I tap right after I read most powerful signs at the protests. When I click I get an add that says “To my generation” I click to skip it, but then I think no, how are they going to change advertising to generation Z
“To my generation, try amazon teen,” they then go into how you can use your parents prime fine whatever. Its what they say next, they don’t tell me what I can get, they don’t tell how it is better for me to use like they do in every other commercial. They tell us “I use it and it’s lit”. IT’S LIT. What no one uses that any more anyways. There is nothing more insulting to be able to organize protest and yet they still advertise with “lit”. Advertisers if you need to advertise to teens now fine I get it, but heres some advise look at us again and look what we are doing. Then when you see it change how you do it.

The amazon is burning in brazil, a failed atomic bomb expiriment killed 5 people in Russia and who know how many more it will kill, American citizens are deathly afraid of mass shootings that have no intention of stopping.... I really feel like we're at the end of the world

This is far, far too close to me for comfort. Added to the fact that they aren't getting permission for the event, I do hope the protesters end up getting arrested by people with actual knowledge of what to do with a gun: the police.

POV: your school was on a 4 hour lockdown because a kid saw a another kid bring a gun and cocaine to school, and tried to shoot up ur 4th pd, so the police came with police dogs……
