I've come to the realization that the reason I always get so wildly defensive whenever I encounter another "how to deal with maladaptive daydreaming" post, no matter how well-meaning, is probably bc my brain always and without fail interprets them as "Oh So You Have A Vaguely Unhealthy Coping Mechanism (That Is Also The Only Thing Keeping You Alive)? Here Are 10 Ways To Fix That"

and I know that's not the intention and that they are probably helpful to a lot of ppl but it's still a funny realization (in a sad way)

needless to say. if u truly wanna get rid of madd you first gotta create a life worth living u first gotta solve the reason u have a need for a coping mechanism in the first place lot of these posts do talk abt this so again im not trying to call them out or something i just find it funny <- prev yeah i cant afford to try n work on my madd rn if i do that im gonna 💀 yknow but i also cant rly change my life to be better. but im also a shut in who does nothing but be in my room so my daydreams arent actually that disruptive👍 god help me tho if i try to do anythin outside the house tho then thehre fuckin me over
